And The female singer is "ABIDA PARVEEN" . She is a Queen of SUFI music. I bet no one can do it better than her ..in simple words She is a living legend! And What makes her special is the robustness of her voice and clarity of her expression. Tann-mann Dhan Baaji Laagi Re

Dhan-dhan Moray Bhaag Baaji Laagi Re ,
And Good Fortune Has Showered Its Blessings On Me.

    Laagi Lagi Nah Ang,
But True Devotion Is Not Achieved.

You Will Know The True Meaning of Devotion.
    Jab Rahe Guru Ke Sang

This is a 700 year old poetry by Persian poet Amir Khusrow who was a student of Indian Sufi saint Nizamuddin Aulia. His poetry is preserved through oral traditions for so many centuries. This genre of singing is called Qawali which is a religious devotional song about God, prophets, saints and spiritualism. Qawalis are usually longer than regular songs because the purpose is to put people into trance. Historically Qawalis are performed at Sufi shrines but later on they were introduced on TV. Qawali singers are mostly from specific backgrounds who are expert in this kind of singing and they are trained from their childhood in Indian classical music. These singers are mostly generational artists. In this type of singing lead singers sing with five or more singers who repeat the lines sung by lead singer and clap. Mostly traditional instruments are used to keep it simple but now a days modern instruments are also used in it. Qawali is one of the oldest form of singing in india and Pakistan region.

Abida Parveen is a living legend. Unlike RFAK she can't pick those high notes because she doesn't have that range but she is incredibly famour for her lyrics. Her words are like arrows for those who are obsessed with sufism. Justin if you're looking for high notes with a strange professional voice, I'll recommend you coke studios another legendenary performance called "RANG" starring RFAK and another legend: The late Amjad saabri sahib please do check it out❤
