This is so fucking great. I still have the original PS soundtrack echoing in my head. I don't think my dad will ever understand how happy I was when I played that game, he randomly picked at a random date as a random gift, and I really didn't knew what to expect. This game is part of me.
Still one of the best RPG series' ever made, and also maybe the only one that is a sci-fi instead of classical fantasy version of sword and sorcery. Chrono Trigger close but more steampunk. I really wish they'd remake PS 1 and 2 because their storyline are also excellent future dystopia but unfortunately not well explained throughout the games.
God I miss the old days when music actually went with the games and classic exploration, secrets and actually reading stuff from npc's pointed you in the right direction wish someone would step up and bring back classic 2D rpg like these and make it very long play through.
@shiloushilou The CD with these tracks are next to impossible to find, and even if you did find it you beter be ready to spend some major cash for it. You MAY find SOME MP3's to download online but it would take a lot of searching.
I'd prefer both. Hell I think the PS series deserves a full out remake. there are people out there today that have no idea how RPGs started and this series is great. Save 3 from what I've heard.
Phantasy Star 1 and 2 had a PS2 remake. Thing is, most people that get into the series today aren't interested in the older games. At all. I don't think a remake would change that at all - and besides, remakes ... No. Just play the old games.
What later rereleases? The only thing I could think of is them skipping "Phantasy Star Generation 3" on PS2. Generation 4 was scrapped anyway. And the GBA collection had III, but not IV. And Sonic Team doesn't have anything to do with the original Phantasy Star series.
@jcdenton2k Probably, but the sad truth is the translators didn't keep it, so I don't see a problem with using the names "Alys" or "Alis". We're not in Japan after all.
A new phantasy star classic collection on PC/XBO/PS4/Switch! PSO on the Switch VC and finaly PSU + PSPo 1+2 (+ infinity) on the PS4/Vita. Oh and I forgot about a Phantasy star zero HD on 3DS/Switch
@jcdenton2k Duh! vjplayer was talking about Alys Brangwin from Phantasy Star IV, not about "Alis" from Phantasy Star I. Trying to sound like a Phantasy Star expert and failing this miserably didn't really make you look all that intelligent, quite the opposite.
@jcdenton2k Big changes like that are usually stupid, but if they make sense I prefer the English version. I, for example, prefer Frog over Kaeru. Noone who doesn't speak Japanese would understand the latter one and conversation between English and Japanese players is really less of a standpoint for me. Than again there are cases where they're really unnessecary. For example: In Detective Conan they renamed Shinichi to Jimmy and Ran to Rachel. Don't like those names.
Sonic team had nothing to do with the original Phantasy Star series eh... So the Father of Sonic team didn't help make them.... Yuji Naka aka Y2 aka muuuuu yuji
It hurts my soul that literally no one who calls him/herself a gamer will experience this soundtrack in their life.
0:00 Final Dungeon
2:15 Dungeon 1
3:26 Dungeon 2/Tower
The tower theme from Phantasy Star has no business going as hard as it does. It's perfect. I love it.
This is so fucking great. I still have the original PS soundtrack echoing in my head.

This game is part of me.
I dream of the day when we can get a 'proper' Phantasy Star V.
might be in the hands of the people who still cherish the IP
us the fans
It should be called "Phantasy Star 5: It's About Space!"
I literally lived for such an occasion. But i think the director and designer died in 2020. If you want a sorta sequel series I'd suggest "Wild Arms".
Never probably
@@shirakawamaseru In someways Sega planning to end the mainline series isn't such a bad thing. Let's it end on a good note.

If they ever made an 80s esque anime/movie for the Algo series, this would definitely have to be part of the score.
Hell yeah!
Agreed.
Fully agree. It's got the vibe!
God I miss the old days when music actually went with the games and classic exploration, secrets and actually reading stuff from npc's pointed you in the right direction wish someone would step up and bring back classic 2D rpg like these and make it very long play through.
Etrian Odyssey. Not 2d, but fantastic all the same and may just be what you're looking for. (Not easy either.)
+Childhood Hero Yeah, EO series made me like rpg's again.
Hype for Etrian Odyssey V
It's what I imagine the music to the end credits music would be if Phantasy Star was a movie...
haha yeah
How accurate.
anime
it sounds like the 90s and I'm fucking loving it !!!!
Man this sounds good, especially once that beat drops @ 2:15
Oh yeah!
Air castle theme from PSIV and PSI
Omg, outstanding. Great times.
Now that is what I consider Classical Video Game Music .
Caralho!
Ficou muito foda!
Fantástico!
@shiloushilou

Thanks for sharing this wonderful music.
Wow! Breathtaking!
HCG's 10 year anniversary stream, woo!
2:15
I love that mix!
I didn't realize there was a whole arrangement album. I only have the OST collection.
@Vortexus1981 They already did remakes for PS1 and 2 on the Playstation2. They were only released in Japan however. Mayvbe someday we'll get it too.
Translation patches exist for the games, which is the best we'll probably get of that.
This is Sega in his zenith.
0:33 is fucking disgusting, it just sounds too good!
Great medley, amazing arrangement and outstanding rpg music!
Amazing

Holy fucking shit my ovaries just exploded
Sounds painful.
im breathless. PS forever!
still incredible
Phantasy Star Sound Collection I
I love the bass
One word. . .!@#$ AWESOME!!!!!!

I wish they could revive the Classic and Online serie
Thanks for the upload!
That intro...
Makes me think of what it would have been like on Sega CD...
Had they did make a Phantasy Star for the Sega CD, the system might have lasted a little longer.
@jcdenton2k Probably, but the sad truth is the translators didn't keep it, so I don't see a problem with using the names "Alys" or "Alis". We're not in Japan after all.
Marvelous!
i'll prefer a Phantasy Star 4 remake, tahn a Final Fantasy VII.
yes i agree very much!
I second that
I want BOTH!
A new phantasy star classic collection on PC/XBO/PS4/Switch! PSO on the Switch VC and finaly PSU + PSPo 1+2 (+ infinity) on the PS4/Vita. Oh and I forgot about a Phantasy star zero HD on 3DS/Switch
I'd rather have both, thanks.
EPIC!!!
if only ps 1 to 4 got the lizard cube treatment like wonder boy and SoR
2:16 = epic
3:44 yes!
What's the dungeon music that plays at the beginning?
***** Thank you sir!
+Alexandre Nicolichi Its Dark Force but its the same in japaneese
In english, it was mistranslated as Dark Falz, possibly due to character limits.
I think Dark Falz sounds cooler and less generic for a final boss name
@@ikagura Many do, since the alternative aside of Dark Force is the Romanized spelling of their pronounciation, Dark Phallus.
Let that sink in ..
Why something starts moving in my pants when 2:15 comes.
3:26 My Favorite Part.
fucking awesome
BASED
af
3:27 tho

Am I the only one that hears a little James Bond rhythm from 2:55 - 3:08?

I like what you say , complet rigth .
Sonic team had nothing to do with the original Phantasy Star series eh... So the Father of Sonic team didn't help make them.... Yuji Naka aka Y2 aka muuuuu yuji
They should bring it back as a remake like FF7 remake and use this arrangment.
Myau ate the nut of Laerma
They don't make music like this for the games anymore. The games today are all very bland and boring even if they look good.
I think of Marth everytime I see this.
Come to think of it, it reminds me a lot of Fire Emblem in general.
-> Blue haired swordsman in a medieval RPG game
sounds right
Ironically, a lot of Fire Emblem music reminds me of Phantasy Star. Especially the Portable series.
Childhood Hero Same composer? Or just same style...
i should listen to more FE tracks
