Tarakasura was engrossed in yoga and knew that Lord Shiva would not marry. Knowing the trick of the demon, the Devas surrendered to Vishnu. Vishnu said that Tarakasura can be destroyed only if Lord Shiva marries Parvati. Because Satidevi was already born as Parvati as the daughter of King Himavan. To appease Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati followed Narada's instructions and performed austere penance by carrying Kamandalam and japa garland in the middle of Kanaka. Lord Shiva makes Cupid a baspam to send Cupid to the gods to dissolve Lord Shiva's penance. He then accepts the request of the gods and is brought back to life.
Later Lord Shiva, pleased with Parvati's severe penance, took pity on her. All the Devas appealed to Lord Shiva to destroy Suran after the marriage. Lord Shiva went to a cave with Goddess Parvati and meditated. As the two of them meditated, their energies merged and manifested as six torches.
It is said that the Arumuga Jyoti was created from the forehead by combining the five faces of Lord Shiva with the sixth face Atho. They shone with the brightness of a thousand crore suns. Lord Vayu carried it. Unable to bear its heat, he gave it to Agni. Lord Agni took it and put it in the Ganga.
Even Ganga could not bear the heat and lit six lamps on an eighteen-petalled lotus in Saravanapoigai. Goddess Parvati is said to have taken the form of this body of water as she was able to withstand the power of Shiva Shakti.
All these six children were brought up by Karthika women. When the time came to destroy Tarakasura, Goddess Parvati embraced all the six forms of Lord Muruga together. Then all the six children became one form. Skandhan presented with six faces and twelve tirukas. Keeping this child in her lap, Mother blessed her with the name of Skanda Mata. Later Karthikeya kills Tarakasura and becomes the commander of the army of the gods.

தாரகாசுரன் யோகத்தில் மூழ்கிபோயிருக்கும் சிவபெருமான் சிவபெருமான் திருமணம் செய்து கொள்ள மாட்டான் என்பதை அறிந்திருந்தான்.
அசுரனின் வியூகத்தை அறிந்த தேவர்கள் விஷ்ணுவிடம் சரண்டைந்தனர். விஷ்ணுவோ சிவபெருமான் பார்வதியை மனந்துகொண்டால் தான் தாரகாசுரனை அழிக்கமுடியும் என்று கூறினார். ஏனெனில் சதிதேவி ஏற்கனவே மன்னன் ஹிமாவானின் மகளாக பார்வதி என்ற பெயரில் பிறந்துவிட்டாள் என்றார்.
பார்வதி தேவி சிவபெருமானை மனந்து கொள்வதற்காக , கடும் தவம் செய்கிறாள்.
பின்னர் பார்வதியின் கடுமையான தவத்தினால் மனம் மகிழ்ந்த சிவபெருமான் அவளை மனந்துகொள்கிறார்.
திருமணத்திற்கு பிறகு சூரனை அழிக்க வேண்டும் என தேவர்கள் அனைவரும் சிவபெருமானிடம் முறையிடுகிறார்கள்.
சிவபெருமான் பார்வதி தேவியோடு ஒரு குகைக்கு சென்று தியானம் செய்தார். அவர்கள் இருவரும் தியானம் செய்யும்போது, ​​அவர்களின் அந்த ஆற்றல்கள் ஒன்றாக இணைந்து ஆறு ஜோதிபிழம்பாக வெளிபட்டது.
