I was trying to get advice on how to hack terminals in Fallout 76 from chat and of course I had to choose the correct option immediately. #fallout76 #fallout76tips #fallout76wastelanders
Actually its really easy, if you havent learned already its based on what letter and where, so if you get a word that has one letter right then itll tell you, then you work from there, or just get it right the first time, also you can guess the sybols
Open and closed brackets that are close together are duds and remove a wrong option. It’s a big process of elimination and I’ve found that the “harder” the terminal the easier
No the password usually has nothing to do with the terminal or location so like a military base won’t always have military related passwords. The right way is to look at the likeness. Say you try 2 passwords, gray and Gary, and they’re both wrong but they both have a likeness of 2. That means 2 letters in both those words are in the same place as they’ll be in the right password. Looking to see which ones are matched up in those you see the G and Y are in the same spots so the real password also has to start with a G and end with a Y. On top of that you can also skim through the characters to find codes that will remove dud passwords (anything with 0 likeness) or reset your tries but you only get one reset code per try so take 3 guesses before looking for those codes and getting the reset for a max of 7 tries
@@Steamaroon i understand now, i always thought it was more like loyalty is related to bravery, hero, soldier etc. not really related to environment but more with the words that have a likeness
I’m convinced that only about 10% of players know how to properly hack terminals. When you guess a password and it tell you the likeness that number is however many letters in your guess are in the same spot as they’ll be in the password. For example if you guess gray and Gary and they both have a likeness if 2 then you know the real password will start with a G, end with a Y and neither of the 2 middle letters will be an A or an R. Pretty easy to narrow down after that. Also as other people have said you can skim through the code to find randomized codes that will remove duds (anything with 0 likeness to the password) or reset your tries. When you use this method fully master terminals are actually easier than novice
Likeness tells you how many letters are correct. Any pair of open and close brackets on the same line can remove duds or reset tries
Not just opened and closed brackets the dud removal codes can really be anything

You can also look for open and closed brackets I.e () [] {} and it will get rid of some words or give you more trys
I appreciate the tips, thanks mate 💪🏼

I'll give the bracket thing a go today and see if how many I can hack into haha, thank you
This. The brackets and parenthesis make it much easier.
@princenathaniel0728's explanation is correct too.
I always thought it was a word association puzzle
