I actually love this gun with birdshot. Putting the regular ammo aside, even though it doesn't have a lot of damage, the experimental ammo and vast use of the shotgun is very satisfying.
Definitely my dude, this gun wont be the one shot answer the pvg can be damage wise, but slap some bird shot in and the whole game world turns into your explosive playground! :D

After having it drop, it has now become my favourite gun in the whole game. You're so on the money when you say it's slept on. More people need to use this gun, even if it's just for the fun factor. A highly underrated and as you stated, the true experimental gun of the game. 😬
I really hope we'll get future experimentals that offer us so much worth, but really i think the exp shotty will always stand above as the ultimate utility weapon, self healing med slug jumps? Infinite stagger? you can't go wrong! :D

I think mm main use for the exp shotgun is the medical ammo and buck, just because of the double jump
But these reasons in the vid to use this are really good!
Buck is so stronk out the exp, sure the range is something of a touch you need to get used to, but it just kicks ass when you're in firing range But dude gotta slap in some bird and use it for blowing stuff up, might be my new favorite thing for urban combat! :D

Man, ive been dying for some talk about this weapon. I, with all other weapons in the game to my disposal, use it so much and i love it. Its a lot of fun and incredibly viable in the right loadout. I love birdshot the most for the reliable range and easy runner kills. My fav. Loadout is with 12G and pvg, what i think is overlooked is that on close range u can both stun lock and still Quick-switch to pvg, get a few shots of and switch back, which gets out huge dmg and stun combined. Over all a great support weapon and a lot of fun. (I know, i Did way to much typing here im just really into this weapon and talking about it.)
My dude it is absolutely warranted! There are entire threads on the forums of people disappointed with the exp shotty and i don't quite get why for that one :'D Exactly, a full spread of bird to bodyshot a runner is almost always a kill, the stagger is great for crowd control, blowing stuff up?!?! come on man! Definitely would call the 12g and pvg combined a reaper level load out, because as you say you get just enough time to squeeze out three or four rounds before needing to re-stagger the machine of choice. Glad folks are agreeing on this, it really is the ultimate support weapon. And best of all its fun as heck :D
what i love about this gun is how the explosive parts explode at a certain range, and getting that explosive range at the perfect distance in between you and your enemy absolutely deletes them
I remember getting this gun on my first run-through along with the experimental assault rifle, and I loved it. Sadly, I didn't store it away in the box when I restarted, and I haven't been able to get a new one.
Oh no Adri! Might have to get back on that grind for the shotty sometime, luckily base building missions can reward exp weapons too now so you have two methods of getting it! :D
@@TenebrisInfinite Definitely. I mostly play Gen Zero for the exploration and the storytelling, so I usually end up just deleting a built-up character and playing fresh again every so often. I managed to grab the experimental assault rifle and hold onto it, at least, and I've been toying with the base-building, but haven't done much with it in its current state. I keep hoping for more stuff that plays with the premise that we're playing teenagers and finding spots that teenagers would be in. I've always been a little disappointed that we couldn't find places like schools or arcades, etc. But at least we keep getting neat new toys and some fun things to do with them.

I didn't know that about the exp 12g shotgun that it blows stuff up in one shot I might consider using it I cant wait for that weapon wheel now

I like the shotgun it just doesn't do much damage, but the pvg that really needs a nerf soon as you get that it makes everything to easy

Hey tenebris, my home base have turned back into FNIX command center, and I can’t turn it back. Do you know how to fix this?
Hey Benjamin, currently there isn't much of an option than just removing the FNIX pieces I believe sadly, though on the other hand i think its pretty cool to have a FNIX base :D Seems to only affect Xbox players as far as i've seen but might also be on Win10 too. Expect a fix for that after the holidays im sure, but for now you can go here to post a bug report in the meantime - forum.generationzero.com/c/bug-reports/9
So I don't know if this is just me but is the gun even working right because when I put in the slug rounds it's like they don't even do anything they do not explode after contact like the others do and the healing thing is not working
I normally run exp PVG and exp Kvm59 but I might try the shotguns out more (still yet to get the exp AG4)
Oh dude when you get the EXP AG4 you gotta slap shock rounds in it for some fun!! Definitely advise giving the shottys a chance, the sjokvist is a beast of a semi auto, and the pump is full of utility outside what the exp variant offers :D
I just cant get behind the exp shotgun. I feel like the 5C does more raw damage.

well they say the xbox glitch is fixed. but where do we start all the previous statements seem out of date.
I don't know why, but whenever I use Slug with my experimental 12 Gauge it never works as intended. Given, it's probably the choke I have on it, or a bug. Either way, I always used Buckshot with my experimental 12 Gauge. Or attempt to use experimental ammo with it.

Yes you definitely want to do a distance test quickly, there should be a small flechette that sticks into things about 3 feet in front of you and if theres nothing to stick to it should do a standard "explosion" in front of your character.
Might not be bugged, the slugs just require a bit of getting used to sometimes :D

The problem is that now we DO have melee weapons, so the slugs need to be reworked to be more in line with how slugs work in real life, an extremely powerful long range projectile. This would allow shotguns to reach their full potential in Gen Z, because they currently don't imo. Slugs should be the way to allow the shotgun to have a longer range ammo type, so that they're a more versatile weapon overall. Allowing us to deal massive damage at range with pinpoint accuracy without being forced to use a sniper, or PVG. I just think this would be cool. (Shotguns are my favorite gun to use in most games and in real life, so I am a bit biased, but it doesn't change the fact that slugs should be changed now that we've had melee weapons for a good while now)

The base 12g can actually serve a sniper in the game with slug rounds in it (and its pretty dang good as one too!) scope is just a 1-4x but it floats a great mid ground. And it is indeed! You can also add a choke, but it serves way less purpose with the EXP variant :D

@@GamerTigerBonsu There's also a scope in FC6 that goes up to 4x too but its a bit too bulky for my liking. Thing almost takes up a 1/4 of your screen xD GZ is more in line with fc5, but it doesn't benefit your spread quite like in fc5 which is understandable as the choke in gz is pretty much good enough on its own.
Actually i've always really liked GZ's shotguns because of the simulated ballistics, you get a really good feeling shotgun out of it!
