It’s possible…he did say his half-brother didn’t inherit one, which means there was at least hope there, either on the bloodline of Balthus’ father or his stepmother’s bloodline. However…. I’m thinking more complex politics would be in play. House Albrecht is considered a minor house. The Crest of Chevalier is very rare and powerful. By having Balthus lead House Albrecht, just for that fact alone, could help House Albrecht rise the ranks to becoming a more major player in Alliance social politics. But I think that some praise be given to Albrecht himself. He did observe his stupid obligations to producing an heir with a noble, but other than that breach of trust, he seems like a relatively honorable guy. He doesn’t seem against Balthus taking his leave, and seemed fine with his other son taking the lead of the house. Maybe he was forced to, I guess. I hate to give him the “not as terrible as he could have been” award, but my guess most hostilities were fueled by the stepmom, and not Albrecht. But I agree, I do wonder which minor Crest or such might have come from the Albrecht (or his wife’s) bloodline.
I recently finished support with Balthus and well its not that bad like I thought it will be but fron the Ashen Wolves support with Byleth (F) still love Yuri the most.
