Yoo! Thank you so much for playing! Glad to see you playing one of our games again! Edit: ending 2 is achievable if you don't save all of the spirits! It's a different version of the save Sally ending.
I appreciate that with you blowing up more on TH-cam, your videos and playthroughs have been slightly changed in terms of being more clear when reading notes and identifying thing. Feels like you're telling the story. Glad you haven't gone and done over-reactive style horror gaming like many other people on this platform do
finally a game with common sense on flashlight, been waiting something like this for years . always wonder why no developers adding different modes on the flashlights , brightness level or even zoomable ones
At first I was pretty neutral watching this. After the heartbreaking back stories and juicy lore from test of courage, and admittedly, the immense jumpscares. Which, with watching your videos I believed I had developed a tolerance, but oh no no. Each one got my ticker skipping beats. It was amazing. I love this game so much, it was edgy as well a cute sense of hidden humor. Well done devs! 👏 thanks cju for play through. Looking forward to the next one!
This was a stellar game, really glad you picked it up! I had no clue this was in the same world as Test of Courage before playing it, I'm sold on the story they're telling. Per usual, excellent job!
Oh man, it hurts how human everyone here was. The Sallys, the restless spirits, the man on the tapes, the protagonist themselves, all except Aegis. That company can rot in hell. A strange game, sure, but a very well done one.
"I like searching through these houses." CJU as a burglar in training. 😊 I enjoyed the game. Not much actual threat, but fun nonetheless. The big problem with the "good" ending is that, with all their data and back-ups destroyed, Aegis will just repeat the experiments from the beginning. So, until and unless Aegis is destroyed, Jay may have done more harm than good. I'm interested to see where this story/universe goes.
Just to add to the reassurance in the comments, I have been watching your videos for YEARS for lots of reasons, but one of the biggest is that you are a completionist. You explore, you care, you investigate. I appreciate that so much.
This game was stellar. From the perfectly spaced jump scares to humanizing the "villain", sharing the family dynamics in each home and the expansion of the story behind the buffers, I was blown away the entire time at how unexpected everything was. The mechanics of the game looked smooth and the flashlight was astoundingly intelligent for a horror game; something we rarely see. I loved the combination of humor and creepiness with the Sallys; it helped cut the tension just enough to relax you for the next scare. Some critiques: I'd like to have seen more challenging puzzles and more unique tasks. I know this takes way more time, but it's worth it in the end to keep things feeling new and fresh throughout the game. I'd like to have seen more of the sinister side of Sally; this could be making her more threatening in certain homes. The underground felt underutilized to me as well. Perhaps a Sinister Sally could have been planted there that Chris would have had to avoid. Overall, I loved this so 9/10. I remember asking for more from the Buffer story from the dev after watching Test of Courage, and I'm not disappointed at all. I love this so much! I can see this concept being a series or a movie. It's so unique and creative and I'm hopeful we get to see more. Edited to add: The SOUNDS were awesome!! For some reason the door closing sound felt so satisfying, like it was the perfect weight of that door. And kudos on the Sally warping indicator sound. I loved that and would totally use it as my text tone!
We meet again!(on a diff account lol) It's been over a year. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate the criticisms. We definitely wanted to have more variety in the chores but we're also limited in time sadly. This isn't the last of the Buffer universe, and we'll be going back to our caves to learn more about game dev :). Hope you've been well Sarah!
It would be great if there is a continuation to this story following up after the true ending. Protag ends up in some weird dimension and stuff, then slips back to Earth to help other buffers and hamper Aegis plans. You could even include some skills that could be used for puzzles that unlock as you progress as a result of protag going to that other dimension, and then by setting more buffers free, they would "bless" him, thus unlocking the potential of those skills. And ofc I wanna see more of Sally being the advisor and companion to the protag as they go about their bussiness. Would be dope as hell! Anwyay thanks for your hard work CJU, keep it up :)
Yes, yes, yes! Not necessarily to everything you said (which are amazing ideas btw!), but because the overall concept of this universe is so perfect to create many stories from. Stories being games. Buffers are SUCH a cool concept!
Thanks for being the completionist that you are! The startle scares were great, and the storyline was so much more than I thought it was going to be. Definitely loved it all!
Amazing game that exceeded my expectations and I didn't even mind the lack of threat since the rich story made up for it. But man, I was so pissed off at those Aegis agents killing children, dogs and entire families that I wish there was a sequel to this game where they become the targets on your list . Sweet revenge and justice. Chris thank you so much for playing this game at one go!
Such a good game...the startles were legit and didn't feel forced; the underground and back story was so well thought out and that I appreciate most definitely. Thanks to Dev team and also you, Chris.
This game really have be jumping in my seat every time sally ran across the screen. It’s one of the best games that I have seen. I think that if wiping the Drive might be ending two. I hope they make more games like this.
Aegis is just like any government Agency. The left arm has no idea what the right arm is doing. Seems like here you are in the left arm dept. believing you are helping humanity, while the right arm is doing some questionable wet work.
Absolutely enjoyed this one! Quirky and brilliant. Loved how the silly jump scares actually were good in placement, had a few laughs as well. Great video, as always!
I wasn't expecting to watch such a good game today. This was definitely a very unique experience in the way it presented everything. All those little tasks that gave us a sense of who those people were made the tragedy so much more painful, and all the endings you showed us much more meaningful. And I also kept getting startled lmao The Sallies were so well executed, creepy yet cute in their own way. I might have to go back to Test of Courage to get more lore because I don't remember anything. It was really fun to watch you enjoy yourself so much, Chris.
I found another video that had ending two, if you don't complete the side quests of saving the people's souls and still free Sally you get a call from your commander calling you and idiot and telling you to come in for a talk, when you go back to your car the man is there and he shoots you.
Brooo u are amazing been watching you for years when u only had a few hundred subs.... u deserve so much more and better your videos are funny and amazing seriously.
Man this was such a great game. I recently found your channel and have been binging as many of your videos as possible, but these games with the Buffers have been my favorites so far (well, tied with the Tormented Souls series). I watch a lot of horror game TH-camrs but you’ve quickly become my favorite. Keep up the great work, CJU!
I actually love this one 😲 the sass in some of those npc 😆 the backstory, sally and everything tying in together is just chefs kiss 😌 im looking forward to the next instalment ☺️ I personally really like when you show the alternate endings and really exploring the place 😆 your honest reactions are refreshing!
I was not expecting something with this level of depth, complexity, and nuance. The gameplay was fun, functional, but the storytelling and narrative was legitimately compelling, and moving, at times.
Really good story! I had a very good time watching you! Everything seemed so logically put together. My completionist nature are also very fond of your discoveries!
Maybe I'm reading too much into it but I find it quite symbolically fitting that the logo for Aegis is a "Two-Face". And I have to say, they're portrayed in an exemplary case of what "Lawful Evil" ought to be. 1. Discover an issue. (Buffers) 2. Study and exploit said issue. (Tests to create buffers.) 3. Sell a solution/become the solution to the new issues you've created. (Aegis.) 4. Further exploit said issue under your new guise. (More attempts to create and weaponize buffers) 5. Leave no evidence, control the public opinion through PR. 6. Would say profit but profit is already attached to every step from 3 onwards.
Definitely a Completionist fan , i always like to view your awsome Uploads.... And this Game is pretty good for an Indie Horror , good graphics , great jump-scares etc.... I myself am a Completionist now still playing Elden Ring spent around 160hrs and yet still haven't Finished the Game totally 🤣 But atleast i'm done with all of the Quests that game has to offer , which is definitely my GOTY of 2022 Elden Ring is... But anyways thank you for the awsome uploads i'm having Exams pretty soon , those videos are helpful to binge watch when i'm bored and not Studying or Playing Games honestly 😂💯 Keep em up 👍🏼
This is the first video like this I've seen. It was so good! I loved the game, loved cju commentary. 10/10. I'm gonna check out the other game cju mentioned.
Overall an amazing game! It touches on a lot of unsavory subjects which humans beings are capable of doing in the name of science, nonetheless it's a well made project and it seems to be a labor of love in it's making. Thanks for the content, cheers!
Dang this was a good game! --- I am fully addicted to Chris' playthroughs. I admit it and am not seeking a cure; yeeks! Heaven forbid! However, I do want to pass on a warning to other addicts - if you are going to be roaming the archives for more than one or two full game playthroughs, be sure to grab a snack to take with you: even if it were possible to get into the games through some sort of back door, there is NO AVAILABLE FOOD in them. You can find water, coffee, tea, and the occasional soda, but unless you like to scavenge corpses, you're shit outta luck. Oh, and watch out for Hiss. Don't really know what the creature is, but you can hear it slithering the library aisles and halls, especially the bleak ones with hardly any lighting. Any and all flashlights, lighters, glow sticks, or magical light sources were looted from the archive hallways a long time ago. None hidden between books, either.
To be honest, I didn´t expect this. Just thought "well, another monster game". It had bittersweet story and the monster in this one was human corporation. Can´t say I´ve seen the previous game (now I will check it, definitely). Very pleasant suprise and amazing game!
This game is a little diff than most; took me about 20 min to get into it. 👍🏻😊 Game's actually amazing at how it slowly turns out being more than I thought it was going to be. Hell yeah I enjoyed this game. One of those that turn out way better than I thought it was gonna be! Would love to see a longer version of this game. Great plot and story telling.

Maybe you should erase the hard drive in the bunker below the houses for ending 2 ? I don’t think you ever did ? May have...cool game and was fun to watch !
I found this video very entertaining and very interesting I'll have to look through your videos and see if you have them on your playlist or on your channel for the other one the prison one I've never even heard of this game before keep up the good work Chris

Umm, did anyone realize that in this house 49:35 , everything got furnished?? And btw Chris, I really love when you post a long video and when you explore everything 👌🏼
1:24:08 asumptions are bad. That being said, they do something far worse than kill you, they lock you in your(someones) room untill you've done your homework
Overall premise was decent and the jumpscares at the beginning did get me. But after awhile, the game settled to a tedium of cleaning house, doing errands for the unrestful souls and picking up items, depending on what's written on the board. Even the Sallys that suddenly pops in your face no longer becomes scary. They're just there. I felt that this is the kind of game best enjoyed if you're playing it yourself, but not as much in the perspective of watching someone else playing it.
I kinda get SCP Foundation vibes from Aegis with their "mission". Interestingly, there is actually a version of the Foundation that became "AEGIS" where it merged with the GOC to combat aliens.
Haven't played the game but after watching the whole playthrough, the 2nd Ending might have to do with the two actions that the game informed you would have consequences. Also, you didn't wipe out the hard drive. So if you ignore the two actions and do wipe out the hard drive, it might result in a different ending I suppose? Edit: Right, I JUST saw the pinned comment lol. Well what I proposed did have logic too! In any case, pretty good game and another awesome playthrough!
Another moment of perfect timing. I got the flu and am resting in bed with a fever so I'm excited I have a long video to watch from you while the medicine kicks in and I get settled in 😌
@@priestessinred I know that this comment is from 1 year ago but having the flu is not any fun just like with the common cold you feel like you are dying since you can’t breathe very well out of your throat and your nose gets all clogged up
@@CJUGames Yep , found out after checking out some one else's video. A bit sad that I was wrong about the non essentials being tied to an ending. Oh , well.

thanks for your work!
Thanks for making another fun game!
This game is *amazing*, I love the universe you're building! Hoping to see more games around the Buffers! :D
We need a third game with a conclusion :D Good stuff!
I'm pretty sure most of your regular viewers love the fact that you're a completionist. I certainly do!
Yup same. I don’t care for the ones that rush through, skim, or quit playing. Chris is the best because he’s none of those
I love that Chris is a completionist. I love that he searches absolutely everywhere and and tries to find everything. Best videos on TH-cam 😊
Yes! And it's so irritating when he misses something!
Same, I'm on board.
I appreciate that with you blowing up more on TH-cam, your videos and playthroughs have been slightly changed in terms of being more clear when reading notes and identifying thing.
I got the flu and am resting in bed with a fever so I'm excited I have a long video to watch from you while the medicine kicks in and I get settled in 😌
i hope you get well soon. 😆
@@athuldas2634 Thank you! 💖
@@priestessinred I know that this comment is from 1 year ago but having the flu is not any fun just like with the common cold you feel like you are dying since you can’t breathe very well out of your throat and your nose gets all clogged up
@graygarrison2692 yes 😫 and then people say "Just sleep it off" when you can't even breathe while sitting much less while laying down 😭
@@priestessinred True it hurts
51:16 was the holy cow here coincidence? 🤣
I wonder if the second
ending has some thing to do with the "non essential" houses / homes.
I think the second ending is you saving Sally without helping the other spirits.
@@CJUGames Yep , found out after checking out some one else's video. A bit sad that I was wrong about the non essentials being tied to an ending. Oh , well.
