You can learn a lot about a country by what they put in their MRE packs. They always have things that are meant to be comforting. It shows what foods are important to the national culture.
I'd say the only typical slovenian things in there are the golaž, fish spread, honey and those vitamin candies. Otherwise it's just a bunch of commercially available products, most of them likely imported.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be made there to be comforting to the citizens. For example, Coca Cola snd McDonald’s are comforting to millions of people around the world, but they are American…pizza too.

Would like to see more typical Slovenian Dishes and not only the Gulash ( fun fact: also good over fresh Fries). Strange, that the ration doesn't include Coffee, because we really do "live" of off Coffee. But very nice to see our MRE for the 1st time even as a Slovene myself. And for the Delamaris spread with tomatoes, Slovene people love it, that's why it's included, but Delamaris has a huge variety of options and flavours.

When Emmy does a MRE video I find that I must have something to eat while I watch. It's just a golden rule while watching her go through the food in the ration.. otherwise I am totally hungry by the end of the video!
I love these MRE videos. You should do camping food too! I’m an avid canoe camper and often go for long trips, 12 days with no resupply. There has been an absolute revolution in the diversity and quality of camping meals in my life time. Some are good enough I actually use them at home! I had a freeze dried black bean soup for lunch just yesterday for instance. Anyway, great video, keep up the good work.

Would that have contained condiments, like salt and pepper, for the foods that might have benefited from a bit of extra seasoning? I only ask because I didn't see where you unpacked it.

If you love those little Smarties-like Vitamins you should give 'Refreshers' a go, if you can get hold of them! They're a candy we have over here in the UK that are kind of similar to Smarties you have, but sour and fizzy! They come in fruit and citrus flavours and were my absolute favourite as a kid!
Except Steve sometimes brings out some VERY expired, borderline inedible ww2 or ww1 ration packs... I'd rather not force her to try those particular ones...

Where did you manage to lose rhe coffee pack? You pulled out both coffee and creamer from the bag... No matter, your review got me itchy to get one of these for myself; type C, but not just for trying. The tuna pate you had had tomatoes inside that gave it the sweet tinge. We call that "turistična pašteta" or tourist pate in english. I also love the crispy bread, whatever flavour i can get. I wish we got these when i was serving in the 1995-1996 but we didn't have these yet back then.
My dad used to serve in the military and he still gets MRE’s as gifts sometimes and we always share and have some in stock just in case of anything happening
this is like a far, far better and more food safe version of a Russian or Belarussian MRE with friendlier looking packaging that had a baby with a US MRE. No coffee is a fail but you could probably add some creamer to the muesli to make it richer. Whole MRE could definitely benefit from a packet of mayonnaise, too! Poke the tuna can with something sharp to drain it, and mix it with the pepper packet that comes with the utensils and the mayo packet in the can for MRE tuna salad. They even have something like that in the US MRE's, lemon pepper tuna I'm pretty sure.
We're lucky enough to have an enormous international market not far from our house and they sell a collection of those Slovenian pates in the small cans--they're very nice to keep in the pantry when the mood strikes.
Canadian here. We have those candies as well, what you know as Smarties we call Rockets. And of course our Smarties are similar to M&Ms (but better lol).
The one thing that is always missing from people tasting MREs is .. hunger. One constant in the field .. at least with many/most soldiers is that you have been up since like say 5 am .. working hard all morning and are starving. A MRE tastes MUCH better then ... hunger being the best spice.
Might I add that with that heater pouch you should use that only outside since it’s literally blowing chemicals into your kitchen due to it being like shoring a battery into water.

I'd love to see some irish cream flavoured barcaffee coffee packs in these MREs.
From what I know, it's not uncommon for a sergeant to bring fresh coffee for his squad. So maybe that's why this ration doesn't have coffee in it.
