That's a fair criticism, and I appreciate you pointing this out. I think my thought process when I added these points to my iceberg was mostly based on how much these creators had been discussed in tandem to the game itself (at least from the discussion I had found anyway). I've seen other icebergs with similar points (notably the Tomodachi Life iceberg). The RTgame point and some of the videos from various creators mentioned (Summoning Salt, Silokhawk, Nintendo Hero etc.) are still all interesting imo, but I do see why it could come off as repetitive. Also worth noting that I got a lot of comments saying they were pleasantly surprised to see RTgame, Poofessure etc., but also comments in a similar vein to yours. Thank you again.

It's a useful feature in late testing to be able to check what build the game is on, to ensure that people reporting bugs aren't reporting an old bug that has been fixed. Yeah that was my thought too, it fits with a likely gold build (RTM) of all editions except Japan. 2009/06/05 is slightly less than two months before the release date of most of the world, so probably enough time to produce and ship disks for initial launch. It is however only 21 days before the Japan release, which sounds a bit short.

For more info about what was mentioned at 17:53 this is the version that came with my wii, I live in america and my parents got the wii family edition (RVL-101) (in case you don't know the family edition has all Gamecube compatibility features including Gamecube controller ports and memory card slots removed for a lower price, it also comes in black and is designed to sit horizontally) while the family edition originally came with Super Mario Bros. Wii and a limited edition soundtrack for Super Mario Galaxy later versions did in fact come with Wii Sports+Wii Sports Resort (the version released in Europe was white and came with Wii Party and Wii Sports). I hope this clears up any questions any of you fellow viewers may have about this topic.
The date that appears on the bottom on the screen is most likely a reflection of the build date of the game. It was probably used during development to distinguish between the different versions of the game.
17:53 I explicitly remember owning the 2 in 1 that came bundled with the Wii console I got for Christmas as a kid. Wish I knew it was that rare so I kept it around. On second thought it may have been 2 discs bundled in one sleeve
23:00 my guess is that June 5th is the day the game “went gold” with the physical disc being printed. That would give 3-4 weeks for the game to be shipped to store shelves.
As a kid i found Out that crashing in a specific group of Houses in the flight Game triggers the Game to play the super Mario dying Jingle. Hoped to see this Herr :(
Something I think this iceberg glossed over was the Check Mii Out Channel/Mii Contest Channel functionality. If enabled, Wii Sports Resort will pull Miis from the Check Mii Out Channel/Mii Contest Channel as spectators and opponents in most sports. This means you can end up in interesting situations like facing off against Peter Griffin in Basketball or Michael Jackson in table tennis. The feature was non-functional for several years following WiiConnect24's discontinuation in 2013, but since the revival of the Check Mii Out Channel through RiiConnect24, this feature works again.
17:41 oh hey! I have this one :D, i didnt know it was obscure since when we bought it the store had a lot of copies lined up with Posters saying stuff like " the Best wii sports expirience" and stuff like that.

I'm still not sure why I clicked this one, but I was pleasantly surprised by the sincere tone and interesting tidbits, virtually none of which I knew going in. I guess I was expecting cynical dunking or a meme video or something, but I really enjoyed the straightforward presentation and was engrossed all the way through. Good stuff!
every time i hear Wuhu Island, i keep thinking of the word 'woohoo' and the idea of a woohoo island is both both funny and terrifying to me
I don’t know how well known/popular it was, but i must have spent hours finding all the ducklings in the warmup space for the canoe races. i never would have said it then, but looking back now i think it was one of my favourite add ins to this game
Thanks for your time and effort making this. This is well edited video and audio with your soft spoken narration delighting the ears man. The choice of music really makes it all fit together perfectly. Looking forward to seeing more of what you make!
I remember the Ad for Wii resort when I was younger. (which makes me get goosebumps from nostalgia) buying it with my parents when I was about 5, which brings back so many memories. Still have the CD but the wii broke and bought a second handed one early this year. Its cool.
(If anyone has questions about the Korean Copy, I’ll try to explain about it)
Thanks a lot for your work!!
My friends and me are playing Disc Golf on Wuhu Island for more than 10 years now, everytime when we meet, and it's still sooo much fun! And of course we still hope that SOMEDAY there'll be a HD-version with new courses..! :D
17:50 Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort also came out in NTSC regions (bundled with wiis)
Level 6 is where my knowledge ended, to be honest I didn't think I knew that much about a game I haven't played in years
This was such an amazing video, I loved it! Always a fan of iceberg videos, and as a massive fan of Wii Sports Resort, this one really caught my attention. I even learnt new things from this too, like the sky blue Wii Remote + MotionPlus and Nunchuk! Thank you so much for making such a beautifully produced video.
Never thought I'd watch this long of a video about Wii Sports..
I actually have the US version of Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort. In fact, that was how I played the games when I got the Wii in Christmas 2011.
I like how this is genuine trivia about the game, and not just a bunch of BS creepypasta like "Matt is evil" or something
EXCUSE ME, are we gonna forget about Monster Factory and the infamous TurboVicki????
I enjoy coming back to see this video. I remember loving the lower levels of the iceberg.
The date that appears on the bottom on the screen is most likely a reflection of the build date of the game. It was probably used during development to distinguish between the different versions of the game.
“If it exists there’s an iceberg of it”
Where’s my Disgaea iceberg?!....
That shit would be deeper than the Mariana.

Fnaf icebergs are less than an hour long, and I don't believe it
22:22 The date/time in the corner is probably the game build date, used by the game's devs to check which pre-release version they're testing.
Man, I've been playing this game for 12 years now and I only knew like 10-20% of the stuff listed on this iceberg.
Great video. I still get comments about the basket bike on that video to this very day.
Did you ever figure it out
@@dontworryaboutit345 Its not real.
The Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort game was also bundled with the Wii Family Edition.

17:53 I explicitly remember owning the 2 in 1 that came bundled with the Wii console I got for Christmas as a kid. Wish I knew it was that rare so I kept it around. On second thought it may have been 2 discs bundled in one sleeve
0:01 I thought rule 43 was If it exists Arthur wants to go there
23:00 my guess is that June 5th is the day the game “went gold” with the physical disc being printed. That would give 3-4 weeks for the game to be shipped to store shelves.
As a kid i found Out that crashing in a specific group of Houses in the flight Game triggers the Game to play the super Mario dying Jingle. Hoped to see this Herr :(
1:22 this music selection alone just got you a new sub
Another thing: you can blow out the candles in Speed Slice by waving your sword near the flame
Bro i was absolutely not ready for schlatt to be mentioned in this video

I have a copy of this. It came bundled in with my Wii.
I have this one :D, i didnt know it was obscure since when we bought it the store had a lot of copies lined up with Posters saying stuff like " the Best wii sports expirience" and stuff like that.
don’t get this whole iceberg business but very enjoyable
I don’t know if it’s a made up memory, but I remember seeing an article where a wii sport resort player died of an heart attack because they played the marathon/ jogging game too much in one sitting. I’m not sure if it did happen since it’s not in the iceberg.
*Wii Sports Resort Iceberg explained*
Me a Wii Sports Resort Veteran:
I own this Iceberg
Never thought I’d see anything like this as an iceberg, but I guess rule.43 changed that…
I knew it was only a matter of time for a Wii Sports Resort iceberg. Nice video
