Trueeee. This island would be soo cool to visit in real life. It has a volacano, beautiful beach, lakes, small cute town, a ton of sports and sailing activites and so many morw.
This is awesome, I've ALWAYS wanted an open world Wuhu Island game where you're actually a tourist staying in the hotels and stuff. I'd love to see you do History of Matt.

As a kid playing the Wii and going to Wuhu Island every Saturday morning felt like a treat. Everything looked awesome and the games were fun. Even now when I get a chance I play and I just take in the nostalgia of my virtual childhood. Thank you Nintendo!
The sounds of this mode are ingrained in my brain. I loved that at night there were fireworks, and that you either went to the island or the golf mini islands
island flyover has always been my favorite, so idk how i've never heard about pilot wings resort until now. just bought it, thanks for introducing me!!!!!
Yeah! i loved island flyover the most but my brother hated it, he liked basketball and games like that. I loved island flyover and showdown where you can go all over the map
i always wanted to know the lore of Wuhu island… the ruins, the history of the town and volcano, that ominous tunnel you can fly through under the whole island…
Don’t worry in the future I will buy an island and rename it to wuhu island. And everybody can live in that island. There will also be great signal, great WiFi. We will also have life boats and life jackets just in case of hurricanes or tsunamis happening. But if somebody wants to live in wuhu island it would cost $300 in rent and bills, while I pay for the water and etc. But I want it in reality not in a video game.
The island seemed so magical back in the day. I just loved the whole idea of going to the island irl for a few days to walk around and try all the sports. Of course, it'd probably cost an arm and a leg since most real life resorts do, but as a kid you don't really focus on that.
This game helped me escape the depressing reality of my childhood when my parents divorced so the nostalgia hits a little harder and different for me. I would play it on the weekends I would spend at my dads studio apartment for hours and hours. My dad would occasionally play too just to make me happy. I’m glad they have a better relationship now. I’ll never forget this game, wuhu forever.
I have such vivid memories of being 10 or 11 and playing the plane exploring game with my mom. We spent so long just, flying around and laughing…it’s such a great memory for me.
man when me and my cousin would play the cycling game, we would switch and be super sweaty just to try to be first. We were never first, but the game was super fun and I remember simpler times -.-
This video makes me so happy. But then so sad that i cant relive my childhood. Now i feel like i didnt play wii sports resort enough, even though its my most played wii game. I just wish i could go back to simpler times.
I get a huge rush of nostalgia whenever I hear the theme music and then I get depressed because I wish I could go back to playing the game when I woke up at like 7 on weekends
This island is pure magic! The way Nintendo made an island that calm and full of life at the same time is incredible. Wuhu Island is so peaceful and happy and has such a unique atmosphere no other video game place had :))
I remember flying around in my airplane while exploring Wuhu Island on my 3DS when I was younger. The whole island always seemed so interesting, almost mysterious to me since we‘ve never gotten many opportunities to discover it or information about the island itsself. An openworld game based on Wuhu Island would be fire. The concept of living there and being able to do so many different kinds of activities while exploring the island does remind me a bit of Go Vacation. I loved this game as well hahahh Thank you for the effort in this video
Jesus Christ, even hearing the name “Wuhu Island” makes me nostalgic. I remember spending hundreds of hours flying around in a plane, just exploring and seeing what I could find in the short time span you’re given. I am so happy Nintendo still has continued to represent Wuhu Island in so many games even after 11 entire years.
I wonder what everyone's favorite mode of exploration was. I would do the bike minigame for hours at a time and go way off course just wandering around the island. There's actually a 2 hour time limit before the game cuts off lol. I hit that many times.
@@janNowa haha me too, the bike game was far and away my favorite. i remember spending COUNTLESS hours exploring that island wishing i could visit in real life :)
when i was a kid, my family didn't have a lot of money, so we didn't really play videogames until our grandparents gave us a Wii - the version that came bundled with Wii Sports Resort, which we played all the time, for years. my brother and i shared a room, and when we couldn't sleep, we'd make up stories about our miis and shenanigans on Wuhu Island. thanks for bringing back some good memories :')
Imagine if it was open world like gta, you can make money, buy planes and cars, do missions. Play with friends, everything like that but no killing would be super fun.
As someone who played HEAVILY on Pilotwings Resort, I can safely say that there was a time limit in free flight BUT the max was 5 minutes and that was plenty of time to explore the island. Man, I just remember flying around Wuhu exploring the secret passageways, getting to see whales on the coast, cruising through town... brings back fond memories
In Wii Sports Resort if you get all the "i"s in the island flyover game it gives you a house on an island off shore. You cant actually do anything with it, but its a fun little easter egg
I think I got Wii sports first but Wii sports resort will forever be my childhood and the main reason along with nsmbw as to why I got into Nintendo and video games in general
That's literally awesome. I've always viewed it as a place I wanted to visit in real life on vacation, but a second home? Now _that's_ a great way to feel about it to me.
Wuhu Island Adventures could be a storymode to save the island from a person trying to make the volcano erupt, or someone unleashing the power of the ancient temples. Think sonic plots in an open world map
The rhythm marching band game in Wii Fit Plus was one of my favorites. What made it more engaging was that depending on how well you were doing determines how many miis join the parade. So it was always fun to grow the parade and make the event more lively
There’s something special about Wuhu Island. I’ll never forget exercising on Wii Fit U and loving the scenery running around the island. Which a calming and fun experience. I hope it returns soon!
You actually can explore the whole island freely in the cycling exercise. It’s an unlock-able mode call “free ride”, however it only lets you explore for 30 min. Nintendo seriously needs to give us an open-world game with this island (maybe in a Tomodachi Life 2?) Overall great video!
I wouldn't an open world game of Wuhu island, I'd still want structure to it like the menus in Wii sports resort since it would likely make it too complex for younger players, but an exploration mode or open-world mode where you can visit landmarks and brush up on lore would be hella saker. Maybe something like a hub would be a good idea, like an apartment where you can select what activities to do (in a menu, of course. I'd imagine it would be like the Space Invaders 50th anniversary hub) but you can also go out about the town and visit stores and activate activities from there, and the going out to activate activities would be incentivised by allowing you more specific play modes, like 3 vs 3 basketball would only be available if you went out to start it. Honestly, I just want to go back home. I miss it so much.
They’re really missing out by not making a multiplayer open world game of wuhu island where there’s a story, mission, games you can play (all the sports it allowed) it would also be cool if there were random events where maybe there’s a tsunami and you have to help the town or like the volcano erupts would be poggers
I got the exact same feeling when I bought and played super Mario galaxy 2 again for the first time since I was like 8. Plus, the menu theme is like a full orchestra and it's so epic
In the European version of the game a whole bunch of the iPoints had different text, even in English. Maka Wuhu is called Mt. Tengenamanga if I remember rightly. It’s definitely something like that.
Wii sports resort is my absolute favorite, but oh my god the GRAPHICS, like DUDE. It's really crazy how you think something was so sharp and clear back then and then you see it again like 10 yrs later and you just feel confused lol. The flyover was the best way to spend my time. Genuinely so fun and if I still had it today, I'd spend days/weeks on it. Great video & thanks for the throwbacks!
@@CryptidTea But without Wuhu island, or the Miis, it cannot replicate the same feeling... That's why I didn't buy Go Vacation, even though you even could have your own house like the video creator imagined in this video. In the end I'm just too nostalgic to move on... Lol idk it's 2 am and I'm sentimental over this fictional and mesmerizing place that like most of the commenters I dreamed of visiting freely as a kid.
@@PayPayGoneCrayCray Go vacations best feature is walking around open world, the games are devoid and are not fun unless you are 3 years old. The power of wii resort was using the motion of the wii remote, but now we usually use the controls. It isn’t nearly as magical.
@@desmav2773 tf you talking about, almost all mini games had motion controls to a fault or aiming at the bar like the dancing, shooting, swordplay, throwing pies, dodging pies , you even played the game?
I swear at some point I knew more about Wuhu island than my own home town. This obsession was really hardcore, I'd imagine my characters being on the island and having a fun time. And then Go Vacation released. I really can't tell for how long I was thinking about headcanons to connect the two but it sure was wild. Ah, the nostalgia 🙏
Nah that's nothing the hardest one was that one cave in the center by the castle with the river that runs through it I think and its kinda behind two stacked rock colums things and you usually only went through it when you ran and stuff that cave made me crash so many times
My fitness path started right there, in Wii Sports, Wii Fit, and such. My PE teacher despised this games telling that those were not true exercises, but she didn't have one thing in mind: the motivation. The feeling in doing a single pose, a single lung, a single punch. Every journey starts with a single step.
Fun fact: In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you can explore the Wuhu Town battle stage completely undisturbed, similar to race tracks in time trials, by making the mode coin runners and turning items off completely. You can't turn off the time limit but it's still a great way to get a better look!

I used to run around this place for hours in wii fit. When I got too tired, I'd take the controller out of my pocket and just shake it, just so I could keep exploring this place. Cool to see a whole video on it l!

*Tomodachi Life 3 / Tomodachi (???)
There was a game before Life that was only released in Japan.
They’re really missing out by not making a multiplayer open world game of wuhu island where there’s a story, mission, games you can play (all the sports it allowed) it would also be cool if there were random events where maybe there’s a tsunami and you have to help the town or like the volcano erupts would be poggers
