Outstanding , i still can not believe that one man could build all this , love the way you admit when you get it wrong and adapt and overcome problems , and heres me stressing about my first arduino project (racal cougar programmer ) which has less wiring in it than just one of your control panel segmants , working my way through the videos which in the best boiler making traditions i am finding riviting , so many skills in one project.
I just came across your channel and website. You are doing a fantastic job. I am building a small GA Sim to practice IFR approaches and will be using your tutorials to enhance that sim.
Hi john, fantastic to hear you getting involved by building your own Sim! If you ever have a question or need advice, please ask. Don't forget to send some photos!
I’m so jealous! Your cockpit looks amazing and clearly shows the work you’ve put into it 👍🏻 I’m sure you’ll sort the issues out as you have done in the past videos, keep them coming I love watching them and it’s nice to see you occasionally have help 😂😂 cheers 🍻
Great job, man. A funny place to be at. Just one cent: The seat seems to be way too low. The horizon on the monitor should be at eye level. Maybe the monitor is too high too. And the field of view seem to wide, as the approach was real fast. Just details but counts into the immersion.
Hi Karl Awesome work that you have done. Where do you got your yoke wheel from or is it diy. I'm currently building my own yoke and struggling a bit how to do it.
Hi Karl. Great work, the end is not far away! You mentioned the plans for your rudder pedals were on your site, but I cant seem to find them. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!
Hi, let me apologise, the basic design is on the website, but i haven't got around to updating the plans yet. This is because i have a renewed interest in finishing the sim. I'm just enjoying all aspects of the build again right now.
@@helimech8152 No apology needed! If it wasn't for the great site you have an the fantastic plans I've brought and downloaded so far I'd be lost with my build! Keep up the amazing work and I'll look forward to downloading the rudder pedals plans in the future.
Hi friend! I love your videos, you gave me the potential to put together my own homecockpit, I learn a lot from your videos. Now can I ask you a question? How did you find the pedal potentiometers to the mobi flight? because I understand that Mobi flight does not allow to connect potentiometers
Hello KURK, you are right, MF doesn't allow potentiometers. However, if you purchase a arduino mirco pro for around 3 to 4 pounds and use the program mmjoy. This enables the use of potentiometers As a joystick card.
@@helimech8152 aah okay, I'm going to buy it. Could you make a video explaining how to use the application? and how to program the potentiometer? I would really appreciate it
Many updates to the sim. You're lucky that you have all these parts left over from your first sim. When I See those springs my first thought was, doesn't those springs produce a lot of confusing noise?
Hi Micheal, i've been thinking about the new design for weeks now. But as the sim is operational and people can come for a go and beer, ill leave it like it as at the moment and try to concentrate of tidying things up and finishing things off! BTW not too sure about spring noise, they are after-all hidden under 18mm MDF floor. but its certainly something to bearing in mind for the next iteration.
Thank you, I wasn't going to put this one up, as it really didnt go to plan, but there would have been a big jump in the way the sim looked between episode without it.
Is it just me or was that landing with the gear lever up? Also, I binge watched all of your videos, visited your site and definitely going to use your plans for my eventual build, will be one of those crazy idiots that will 3d print every part possible. Any idea when the plans will be updated to remover the flaw you found in this video? Cant wait for any updates you have coming, very informative and an inspiration to budding 737 cockpit builders, respect.
HI Dark Phoenix, I thought id already replied to you. If i have, sorry for the repeat. But i can not see me reply on here. The landing gear was indeed back to front, It took us a little while to figure that out! Hopefully its corrected now. Ah that flaw in the floor! let me do that right now after this comment! Thanks for your support!
Toughest job building my sim is to get hold of these 2 angled gear boxes like yours on the top of the columns, that special shape, do you know where to get it? On most small planes air forces center the yoke but I think Boeing has built in a distinct centering point for elevators or even ailerons, anyone knows? The plain weight of the yokes tend to center a little for ailerons. I'm also using springs but I wonder if those small hydraulic car tailgate lifts are better. I have really learnt a lot from your videos, thank you!
Awesome! I’m so jealous! Just wondering, did you build all of these panels and parts on your own? What kind of machine did you use and how much were all the panels and the machine? Thanks
Hello! I started off making my own parts, and still do if I break or need something different. However, the overhead panels were supplied by cockpitsimparts.co.uk which I highly recommend. I used a cnc machine which you can see on the website, and I have a mini engraving laser machine for text.
Hi vnavspeed, I wish id filmed my ch yoke conversion. It worked so well but now its in pieces. If i get the time, i will look at rebuilding it so people can follow along. Kind Regards Karl

Hello there once again, hope you are doing great there in Brunai, please advice what king of stepper motor or servo motor should I use for the throttle capacity and all these, I can not find that info on your website. Bytheway, I have manage to build the MIP structure already, feeling good. Best Regards
Hello, I used servo motors. I can highly recommend the most powerful servo's you can find. Then also use a servo saver! This will allow movement of the handles with damaging the servo even when powered. Kind Regards & Merry Christmas Karl

Perhaps opposing car boot gas struts/springs would give a better feel to the control column? Might also work in the rudder pedals.

Heli Mech awesome, thanks, how much does a Cnc machine that size cost? Also, do you use wooden panels or acrylic? Thanks!
mine started off at around 400 pounds, but over the years and upgrades it now would cost closer to a 1000 pounds. all my panels are from acyrillic.

Where did you get your yoke wheel? Was it DIY?
One was given to me, I think the other was created by me from the one I was given. I had to leave them in Brunei, which I regret now. Lol
So who gave it to you? A friend, or a company? If it's personal, you don't have to answer.
No words..
Thank you
Making springs flight each other wont work well. Research the way the center cam works on the real jet, if you can simulate that it will feel real.
Brill, thank you for the advice, I certainly will research.
