great videos! trying to navigate your channel for a playlist on the 172 cockpit.. would love to see the progress. going to attempt a diy build myself. keep up the good stuff Karl!
Hi Karl. Thanks so much for this type of video. You truly inspired me to build my own Bombardier Challenger 650 cockpit. Please continue with your awesome work. Fingers crossed.❤ Hope I can show you in future what I’ve built.
Hi Karl, I have reported your channel for dangerous content making me spend more money and significantly limits time is spend with my family. Seriously great work! much appreciated. Without you my sim still would be a saitek kit.
@@helimech8152 as you have seen I have finished my (yours) MCP, onto the saitek throttle mod. 3d printer is sweating for last week or so. Keep up with great work you are doing!
Damn good job Karl really. Everything was very well thought out, including the sockets for the cables. Unfortunately, the complete kit including shipping to Germany is a bit too expensive, around €90. But still very, very good work
That's just amazing 😂 ... I'm just getting going on your G1000, and the quality of your designs are awesome. Just a rookie question for you. For the 7 segment display. What about resin printing the frame with a thin top layer in translucent green resin to replace the glued in film.
Great job as usual! Question: I've bought the full-sim package do I/we get access to the PCB designs for those of us with the capabilities to create their own PCB's?
Great work as always. Could you share how you get the outer knob to clip in? Do you use a clip inside the printed part, or is it just a tight fit like the inner knob?
Hi Karl Amazing job again! I've a question about the red Arduino connectorbox you show at 15:58. Is there a stl file available? Couldn't find it on your website. Regards, Jan
Hello. Very impressed by your soldering skills!!! I have an issue with Mobiflight and my max7219 7 segments displays on my radio stack. They go off after 20 minutes roughly. I tested with a unique 7 segment connected to an arduino, nothing else on it, but same story, off after 20 minutes. The only way out is to relaunch mofiglight. Maybe have you an idea why this is happening. I also have added a 100ųf capacitor to the displays, but noting helps. The 7 segments have a dedicated 5volts power supply but with power supply or through the arduino, they go off
You need to check out the data sheet and auto shutdown feature: When the MAX7219 is in shutdown mode, the scan oscillator is halted, all segment current sources are pulled to ground, and all digit drivers are pulled to V+, thereby blanking the display. The MAX7221 is identical, except the drivers are high-impedance. Data in the digit and control registers remains unaltered. Shutdown can be used to save power or as an alarm to flash the display by successively entering and leaving shutdown mode. For minimum supply current in shutdown mode, logic inputs should be at ground or V+ (CMOS-logic levels). Typically, it takes less than 250µs for the MAX7219/ MAX7221 to leave shutdown mode. The display driver can be programmed while in shutdown mode, and shutdown mode can be overridden by the display-test function.
Interesting video, thanks a lot! But could it be that in the end when turning the inner knob the frequency changed in the different direction like turning right decreases the freq instead of increasing it? I think you might need to re-program the MobiFlight setting for left/right and telling it to use negative numbers for left turn and positive for right turns, if I understand that correctly?
Hi Karl, congratulations on this radio panel, very nice... have you ever thought about getting a house in France? ........so if I wanted to buy one of your products it would be more convenient :)
Hello, The FSC is rebuilt, but its awaiting a new PCB. Without it the unit is useless. I dont want to start the next one until that one is done and out of the way.
I noticed the tinted film crinkled in the frame after you inserted them. Would it be better to instead have slightly oversized pieces sandwiched between the top two acrylic plates? That way any deformation of the bezel wouldn't be transferred to the film.

My god this channel is the best i've ever saw. Thanks !
Fantastic clip ,thanks for sharing .

Looks great. Good job, Karl! 😎👍

Love your enthusiasm and engery! You are amazing! I can tell you really love doing this!

Great work Karl, really enjoy these videos and the FSUIPC section was a great insight on how it all works together. Cheers
Thank you! I will do more indepth when I come to the final wiring and programming of the finished unit
Amazing work.
Amazing quality as usual Karl! I’m interested in the interface unit and connection method, can I find details on that anywhere?

LOL! Its all starts so innocently, then things just spiral out of control! (even for me)

There are two noggins inside that need to line up. It doesn't have to be a tight fit as the top knob is the important one

Are the new PCB's available for the FMC? Are you going to do a video on putting that together?

Good Spot, but this is just prototyping, will sort all that out when i come to fit the panels and set them up for use.

Haven't thought about a house in france just yet! We need to buy our dream home here at some point! We do have IOSS now in the shop which should help!
Amazing! How do you make the button lenses?
Hello, with a C02 Laser. It really makes them stand out and look the part.
Is the second video of the motorised throttles coming soon have you finished repairing them?
Hello, The FSC is rebuilt, but its awaiting a new PCB. Without it the unit is useless. I dont want to start the next one until that one is done and out of the way.
brilliant!
Thank you!
Karl: “beware, Im an amateur at smd soldering”
Shortly after: desolders and solders them perfectly like a pro 😏
Chuckle! Seriously, that was all luck! I was even shocked they work, But glad all the boards now have them presoldered.
@@helimech8152 😄
Would i be able to put a normal USB connector onto this just to have as a desktop device?
when will you do over head panel?

Hello, Now we dont have it glued, it just rest in position and is cut by laser giving it a flat finish. I really didnt like how it looked.
Ont 5 digits in prosim and you got an extra zero makingbit 6 digit. Intentional?
Nice.....but your kHz is backwards

Merci, la programmation devient de plus en plus facile. L'équipe MF facilite constamment son utilisation.
