Hey! You are doing amazing work. I have a bit of a situation at hand atm; I am on a Tier 2 visa working with a Bristol based Tech company, whilst my wife is an MS ENT doing her SRship with the same hospital. We are confused what pathway to choose, 1.MRCS -> GMC-> Applying directly for NHS registrar jobs (or SHO? Is it possible to get registrarship directly?)
    2. Mch in Otorhinolaryngology at Edge hill and completing MRCS (I am hoping for her to atleast get the Part A done before the course starts) concurrently.
Also, can the process of reaching the ST-7/8 (Consultant) be expedited? Or mandatory 5-6 Years of surgical medical training needs to be done before writing the FRCS exam?
Thanks a ton for all the information 😊

@@idekok5368 when you complete your FY2 it means you have completed your Internship now you have to get into surgical training (PG).And there is a whole process to get into particular speciality. For most of the specialities you have to give a exam called MSRA (Multi Speciality Recruitment Assessment) .After this exam you will be able to apply for training position. You will have to creat a Excellent CV to get a position. DIFFERENT specialities have different CV requirements and after your CV submission you have to go through a Interview process on the basis of your overall performance you will be given speciality training position and then you can start your training in UK.
The medical system of UK is much more complicated than USA but believe me it's best. You will never be discriminate on any basis like USA do on the basis of med school. There is no such thing in UK.If you do hardwork you can easily get what you want in UK.Even IMG's get neurosurgery and cardiac surgery which is impossible in USA.If you have any doubts,I will be happy to help You.

Singapore routes of entry through mrcs mrcp or through pg from English country . Singapore would be worst choice for working , if u wish without pg from English country . There is also an exit exam . That is more worst than fmge in transparency . Conducted yearly once . So please forget this route for Singapore and Malaysia.

Mam after a doctor has completed the FY2 he has to apply for an exam for core medical training . My question is whether that exam qualification gives me the way to clear both CMT as well as ST ?
Or I have to apply for another exam completing CMT for ST which is MRCS ?

Hey! Marrow can help you get the foundation , but there are dedicated books for mrcs like basic science book for mrcs , a revision guide for surgical trainee . Please refer to those books to understand what will be asked in the examination .

    Hello,
I am final year medical student from Guyana, south America. I am planning to give MRCS exam next year in the month of January as I will be getting a my PMQ in the month of november 2023. I have a query it would be great if you could clear it. As I said I will be giving MRCS part A next year in 2024 and by the end of 2024 or early 2025 I will be giving part b and pass the exam. As soon as I pass the exam after my GMC registration will be getting directly into ST3 neurosurgery? It's my dream to get into neurosurgery training in the Uk. If not what will be the other way I can go to neurosurgery training after passing MRCS exam. And one more thing do i need to do internship if I have already passed MRCS
That would be really helpful for me, if possible after passing MRCS exam and getting GMC registration.
Without internship am i eligible in uk for ST training?
I will be waiting for your reply.
