    So wouldn't it be a better route if I do my residency in a different country and then apply for MRCP? And if I do, do I have to work in that same department or can I proceed to specialise further?
    For example, I do my internal medicine residency outside but I want to further specialise in nephrology. Can I train for nephrology or internal medicine again?
    Please answer me cuz I am quite confused
    Thanks

If someone clears Mrcog part 2 in Pakistan and wants to have mandatory training there in UK, is it possible to practice there or get a training there after mrcog part 2.. like do we have GMC lisence to work their there after part 2 or we get lisence only after mrcog 3

    Is it true that if I gain MRCP from outside the UK and attempt to the speciality training I will only get non-competitive specialities such as Geriatrics and Palliative care?
    And if I get MRCP from outside the UK can I start my Internal Medicine part 1 training? Or I will have to enter the speciality training?

    Doc, Is it required that I complete my one-year internship at a hospital affiliated with my university? Because of COVID-19 restrictions in China, Chinese medical students are required to complete their one-year internship in another country. The question now is whether GMC will deny our applications for plab. Please, shed some light on this. Thank you.

    Thank you for the valuable info that you guys provide in your videos and blog posts.
    As you are aware there is serious shortage of Plab-1 places all around the world. I want to know is it a wise decision to pursue MRCP parts in this time till we get a place for plab-1? And also about gmc registration through MRCP, I have read that you have to pass all three parts to get gmc registration. If so can someone with no UK clinical experience pass PACES?

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would only make sense if you're already sure and committed to pursuing medicine as your specialty of choice. Passing these exams without experience may be difficult.

    I am an IMG, currently working at Sri Lanka. I have done my internship after the graduation in 2013, as follow
    1) Pediatric surgery - 6 months
    2) Gynaecology and Obstetrics -6 months
    After my internship I have worked as follow
    1) Medical Office at Out patient department and Emergency department unit (2014-2016)
    2) Medical officer of Health (community)( 2016-2018)
    3)Medical officer at Renal transplant ICU and ward (2018-2020)
    4)Medical officer at Covid ICU and ward (2018-2022)
    In regard of acceptance of my internship, will my internship 12 months be accepted as valid or will my post intern/post graduate practice period accepted as valid?
    If that so, what kind of document I should provide to prove my postgraduate practice?

    Meaning that whether PLAB or MRCP, one ends up starting from the same place in the UK, is that right?

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      It means you get registration both ways, but not that you necessarily 'start' the same way.

    Will the reviews for plab be the same with UKMLA ?

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Difficult to say! To date, there is no information on the cost of UKMLA but seeing how it is geared towards new graduates, one wouldn't expect it to be too different than PLAB.

    Hello, i have a query, regarding plab and mrcp, if i hv completed my residency in dermatology in my home country, which would be the best option for me to get GMC registration and if i have completed both my residency as well as my mrcp, then, would i have to go for IMT or will i get directly ST3 trainning in dermatology as a registrar. Thank you...

      You would need to prove your alternative core competency to join at an ST3 level. As is, if you've completed MRCP, you'd be eligible for GMC registration.
