    Hey! You are doing amazing work. I have a bit of a situation at hand atm; I am on a Tier 2 visa working with a Bristol based Tech company, whilst my wife is an MS ENT doing her SRship with the same hospital. We are confused what pathway to choose, 1.MRCS -> GMC-> Applying directly for NHS registrar jobs (or SHO? Is it possible to get registrarship directly?)
    2. Mch in Otorhinolaryngology at Edge hill and completing MRCS (I am hoping for her to atleast get the Part A done before the course starts) concurrently.
    Also, can the process of reaching the ST-7/8 (Consultant) be expedited? Or mandatory 5-6 Years of surgical medical training needs to be done before writing the FRCS exam?
    Thanks a ton for all the information 😊

    Sir, to work as registrar in UK after MRCS, do we need to give IELTS or OET?
    Also, scopes as a woman surgeon abroad?
    And differences b/w MRCS and FRCS?

    • @lefthandedsurgeon
      @lefthandedsurgeon  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Ranita yes! For GMC registration- IELTS is also required
      There is no discrimination between male and female candidates in UK
      to do FRCS, first you need to do MRCS

      Not at all. Dr Rohan and I have been guiding students for the past few years and we have found that orthopedicians tend to get better scores in part A. But of course, you will have to study

    • @vinayak9202
      @vinayak9202 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      depends. PLAB is better if you want to do core training for 2 years in UK. Better chance at training posts. However, if you have had surgical experience in India, makes sense to go for MRCS.

    Sir
    I am a foreign medical graduate from Philippines. According to new NMC rules of India, they accepted clerkship in Philippines as equivalent to internship in India and awarded us permanent registration straight away. So in short, I didn't do my internship/foundation year 1 in India. I am planning to pursue masters in general medicine or general surgery in India and appear for MRCP or MRCS in the future. So does skipping foundation years pose a problem for me in the future for my GMC registration if I pass my MRCP or MRCS after my post graduation from India.
    Please let me know so that I can decide either to join post graduation or internship in India
