Ha! I came looking for an overall review and came away with the reason I'm looking to buy this scanner (other than the fact I've been not wanting to justify this purchase). So, you activated the radiator fan on the Acura and that's what I'm looking to test, but, on a '07 Honda Accord. At this moment, I'm pretty sure that the computer is not sending a ground signal to the fan, so the scanner is only going to confirm what I already know, but may be useful none the less. I will see how it performs on a BMW Z4 and I'm going to attempt to make a duplicate key for a Honda Odyssey.
Thank you for the comment, and glad I was able to provide you some value in the video !!
Hello! Nice review. You opinion XTool D7S VS X431 CRP919 BT ? They are both close to 400€..
Sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation. The Xtool is probably easier to use. They are both good, but in different ways. Once you get use to the menu in one brand you will lean towards that brand, but in terms of performance I would say they are both very similar.
There is currently a 10% off coupon GCVWWPRY amzn.to/3JqVozh so quite the deal right now !!
is this better if vin is put in? nissan xtrail t30 diesel germany 2003
only thing that connected to it other than launch elite 431 pro i just got the d7s i like it
If the VIN is put in the tests are more set up to what you have, but I found that I actually get more out of it without the VIN, as you see more tests. Keep in mind some won't work, but I found you have more variety, and you get some tests that are not there if you put the vin in. I found this scanner very easy to use.
FYI ......this does not correct mileage on a 2018 or 2022 range rover sport nor does it change miles on a Porsche 991 2012 on, software only goes up to 2010 for Porsche, dont know if it corrects those models?
Thank you for the comment, I did try it on a Dodge and it worked.
Hi Garage king, Will this reset nox and ad blue? And Will it read faulty pressure sensor glow plug? And lastly, if you decided not to upgrade after 3 years, what are the consequences?. Thanks in advance.
Hi There, is should reset nox and ad blue, but I'm not sure if it would read sensor glow plug. Consequences after 3 years I'm not sure. I know the Launch ones still work, they just don't update and you loose future features, but for the Xtool I'm not sure what happens after the 3 years. My guess is the same as the Launch, but don't quote me as I'm not 100% sure.
@@GarageKing thank You

@@GarageKing any opinion of D8S?
@@lordofrings59 Hey there, I haven't checked the D8S so I can't really say how much better it would be, no doubt as its a higher model its going to do more, but how much more I'm not sure. Also I find they do vary depending on the manufacturer (certain automakers seem to release more so the scanner will do more)
It can change the mileage of the car ?
Yes, not all but certain cars it can
Does this work with older vehicles well? (2000-2010)
Yes, it should.
Does this work for reprogramming power steering control modules?
I believe it does on certain vehicles, I just bought and tried this one, and its not much more, but does a whole lot more th-cam.com/video/yGE3hZTF0CY/w-d-xo.html
Thanks brother! 🤙🏻 great video
@@TheBubbad55 Thank you !!
Hello! Just have a question. Does this scanner can relearn camshaft position sensor?
Thank you!
Yes it should be able to do cam relearn.
@@GarageKing thank you for your reply! Great video! 👍🏻
Can it do a crankshaft position sensor relearn on a Honda accord ?
I would think it can, I havent tried it on an accord, but it does a lot so I think it probably could. You could always write Xtool and see if they reply.
What is the going rate of a software update?
Its usually a few hundred bucks after the subscription expires. Depending on the condition of your scanner, sometimes its better to get a new one.
@ i just returned my XTOOL TP150 and opted for the XTOOL IP819TP
@@GaryWold Big step up !!
Why is key programming not on mine?
It could be your specific vehicle is not covered. You have to go into the coverage to see if your vehicle is listed.
Special functions, then IMMO.
@@GarageKing Hello so I change my cluster on a 2013 MDX and wanted to see if I can change the miles to original the one I got for it had way more miles would this be able to set the original miles?
@@gilbertibarra6661yes it should be able to do that. There is probably 2 ways to do it. Either the cluster replacement or go into “ODO” and use the correction feature and change the mileage on the replacement cluster.
@ okay thank you I just didn’t want to buy a scanner that says it can and not end being able to do it
You think this is worth $200 more than the LAUNCH X431 you reviewed a year ago? At the moment I need to monitor live ABS data and I'd like to monitor suspension control live data on a GM with rear airbags.
Hey There, if you are talking about the CRP919e, I would say the D7S is not far ahead, its a little better (depending what you want to do) but not a whole lot. If you can afford the D7S, for less that 100 more you get the X431 pro elite. I did a review on that one and its a big step up. amzn.to/3Vc5CsG The review is here: th-cam.com/video/VUqdpDRHbH4/w-d-xo.html
The CRP919 is a real good value and close to the D7S. I would say get the CRP919e. If you are looking to monitor ABS the 919e will do it fine. I'm not sure about suspension control. For odometer you need to step up to the D7S. Hope this helps, or maybe it made you more confused LOL
@@GarageKing no I really appreciate the info. I'm wanting a fairly nice unit but I'm not super excited about spending $700 on one. Probably just need to research a bit more and try and justify it to myself lol
@@TurboV8boi No worries, if you are looking for value the crp919e can't be beat for the price. Once you start going up a few hundred dollars it started getting crowded.
@@GarageKing hey I really appreciate the advice. I found a few of these on ebay for $265 new. I'll probably pull the trigger on that.
Im trying to find a way to set ride height sensor and check codes for suspension on 2019 c7z. do you still have your c7z? Ive been struggling with a random service suspension message i cant diag myself thus far. If this tool does it that would be great
I don't have the C7Z anymore, wish I did, but it got into an accident (not my fault) where someone ran a light and hit me. Thank goodness no one was hurt. The Z had frame damage so I didn't want to take it back. I really miss that thing, but I'm on the lookout for something else now. If I still had it I would try the scanner on it for you. I have a number of scanners, its like a hobby thing, This new one does do a lot. I actually used it on a BMW today to reset the cabin air filter, and mandatory inspection that I could not with another scanner. I don't think the code for your Z should be that hard to pull from it. I wonder which module reads the sensor? This scanner is one of the easiest I have used so far BUT...... I am going to review another in a week or so. I bought it off Amazon, and its much cheaper, but its only for GM. So its fully Bi-directional, and claims to read all modules, but only for GM, hence the lower price. Here it is amzn.to/3QaY5bT Thanks for the reach out and support.
It can’t do quick learn for dodge transmission
Thats good to know and thanks for sharing. I find most scanners are limited with Dodge as Dodge does not allow aftermarket scanners to do many things that other manufacturers allow. Appreciate the comment.
