How Deep snow can make Scotland's Easiest Munros difficult !

- Mountain Hiking some of Scotlands easiest Munros in deep snow. These are some of the easier mountains to get up in Scotland - not under deep snow though. Took a bit longer than suggested due to the deep snow !!
As Autumn was fading and winter starting the snow had finally arrived in the mountains, the first major snowfall of the season so I got the snow shoes out to see if I could make it to the top of the mountains in deep snow (well by Scotland's standards anyway!!) .....

I love these hills. People often describe them as "boring", but in winter they are magical. I snowshoed my way to Tolmont and Tom Bhuide a few weeks before the first lockdown, with a couple of friends. It was tough, but a brilliant day, with so many hares in their white winter coats.
Absolutely agree - they certainly come in to their own under a covering of snow :)

I was on my first freedom day two weeks ago on those very hills. Very spring like, but looking out to the higher Cairngorms I could see that winter was still hanging on.
Still winter high up as far as I can see from some recent posts - always a reminder to keep the ice axe and crampons on the bag just incase 👍

Wow absolutely great hike in deep snow
I Remember this snowy spell, I took my niece and nephew out in it and we made a snowball so big we couldn’t roll it anymore😂

Absolutely - work a treat - just make sure the mud is soft and deep 🧐😉
