Hi Dan, I live in a village 5 minutes from Schiehallion, it's my favourite. I appreciate that you showed these walks in autumn/winter time too, most yt channels only seem to show the munros off during summer. they're pretty all year round :)
Hi Christy! Oh lucky you! You live closer to all the munros than i do😂 and yeah i agree i think they are prettier on a clear day with snow. It is just a bit more unpleasant to do it in the cold😂
I was looking for videos to help me with starting my munro bagging, your chanel was exactly what I was looking for, I enjoy your videos, thanks for this one. A perfect starting point, very informative and perfectly explained, I have recommended your videos to many. Thank you and all the best with your chanel 👍👍👍
Great video, having done most Munros (a lot of them several times), it’s good to see a young man on a great adventure across our most beautiful scenic destinations. Keep up the good work! The last time I walked up Ben Chonzie I spoke with a fellow walker who said something I will never forget, she said “I can’t remember what I did two days ago but I can remember every Munro I’ve been up.” It wasn’t until she pointed this out that I realised I, and probably a lot of others, are the exact same.
Aw brilliant comment thanks Brian! I agree, i think its just because each munro is a hard task, and as soon as the name of a munro you climbed is mentioned, you could probably think of 5+ stories etc. and i feel like you could easily remember the weather on that day also!
Hi Dan, I've recently gotten into climbing Munros through a mate and I've been loving your videos. I'd also like to add a suggestion for anyone just starting out to try Ben Arthur, the cobbler. I did my first solo climb up that 2 days ago and it was brilliant, there's two routes you can take up it as well with varying difficulty. I took the clockwise which is a bit steeper and a bit more of a scramble but the other anti-clockwise route is a more gradual ascent with what are essentially rock steps leading up it. Great views at the top of Loch Long and it's right next to Beinn ìme and Beinn Narnairn if you wanted to try them as well.
Really comprehensive! Thanks so much from someone who hikes regularly. I remember see the Munro when I visited Loch Lomond many years ago, it is truly stunning
Nice video. I've lived in America for 22 years (I'm from Shetland) but was in Aberdeen a few weeks ago and climbed Mt Keen, from Ballater. My first Munro. Will do another one next time I'm back.
Thanks so much for this Dan. I walked Ben Nevis in the 90s and always wanted to do more Munros. I'm getting on a bit now, so a guide to the ones that are a little easier is really helpful to me.
Good luck with the channel. I liked your video and I think it deserves more viewings. I also like your selection of beginner Munros, principally because I've done loads of them!
I'm just getting back into hiking after a good few years off it. The belly has grown substantially, and my fitness level is embarrassing. But i know walking is the fountain of youth. I've just stumbled across your videos and looking to get into munros. Being in Fife im not far from any of them. I'd happily say your videos are more informative than 80% of the hiking vids on YT. Keep at it bud, those numbers will go up, especially with the hard work you're putting in. Hopefully, I'll see you around one day on a munro.
Great video on good Munros for beginners. I have just completed my first Corbett, The Clisham on Isle of Harris and keen to complete my first Munro so this video really helpful 🙂👍
Appreciate the information, Ben Vane and the other Vorlich are pretty straightforward and close to Glasgow too for beginners. Cheers keep the videos coming!
Being a Perth boy think I'm gonna attempt Mayar and Dreish next :) was thinking about walking Corrie Fee and this vid just confirmed the decision. Keep up the good work dude!
You absolutely should walk Corrie Fee.....and I would recommend returning there as many times as you can during the changing seasons. It is such a special place and there is always a new 'scape everytime you see it.
Can you do videos of some hills which are shorter as I recently done part of Conic Hill and I’m getting on a bit this was my first time and found it very challenging and didn’t enjoy walking on the stones although they are necessary because it is very steep
I've climbed Driesh a few times, all via the steep edge of the Scorrie, / Winter Corrie, and once in February hurricane winds. All good fun, though. This was my first munro.
@@DanMunroMan This route up Driesh is direct but very steep and crumbly, very different from beginner-friendly route of your video. A nice circular route is up Jock's Road (Glen Doll) to the top at Crow Craigies then across to Tolmount and Tom Buidhe, on to Mayar and Driesh. Finish by taking the Kilbo Path back down to Glen Doll Forest.
@@DanMunroMan no bother. Just went up onto the Cairngorm plateau and finished up on Cairngorm summit for a quick photo of the sunset. 3rd time up there this year. So peaceful. 🙂
I'm surprised Mount Keen is on there as although it is a technically easy hike, it is a long walk in. If I hiked it again I would use a mountain bike to get down glen Tanar.
My first munro was Ben Vorlich and loved it! Managed to get above the clouds and it was lovely. I wish Ben Lomond was similar the other week 🤣 did the route you suggest on the video and it was tough in the drizzle and wind. But that was only my 3rd munro! I'll be doing the others on this video next year 🤞
Really find your content very useful. I've just started this year bagging them. Done five and one Corbett. Already got next year planned out so watching this gives me really useful information. ATB
@@DanMunroMan Ben Lomond, Narnain, Ime, done the Cobbler and I've done Ben Dorain and Ben an Dothaigh so far. Hoping to get Ben Vorlich at Loch Lomond done on Sunday.
Just what I was looking for Excellent video Full of information for a gateway into Scottish Munro’s Do you have a preference for best season to avoid the midges and crowds
Hi, thankyou and personally i avoid winter because i dont get the same enjoyment climbing in the snow. Also i just go all throughout summer autumn and second half of spring. There is some very good midge repellent where they will just completely ignore you!
Ive been up all of those hills (numerous times) in serious winter conditions , whiteout etc. To dismiss them as easy is misleading and amateur , not to mention stupid.
Wow, a little aggressive there Ben! I don't think we should have to caveat everything with a warning that states the obvious. Why not accept the video in the spirit it was presented or perhaps provide a constructive comment that brings value?

What in the world is a Munro???
A mountain in scotland that stands at 3000ft or more
