This is my first introduction to this channel, and I wanna take the time to compliment the interviewer on an amazing job, asking meaningful questions that offer more insight into the "real" person, or deeper psychological undertones of the artist in front of him. Anthony says he'll tell him after the show if he wants to know, to which you instantly see and hear in the reaction that there was no desire for gossip on the interviewer's part. Now that I've seen it, I'm ok waiting again. It was good, but far from his best imo. His good jokes usually outweigh the bad ones, but not this time. First time I've heard him take cheap shots in a special as well. While it fits his stage persona and seems to reflect his real life feelings on the matter, it also hurts the flow and takes away from his act speaking for itself. And his decision to not include any crowd work (whether he even did any during filming or not) just because so many others are featuring it these days is just silly and seems a bit petty, considering it's been in his last 3. As a fan, a little taste of his quick wit sprinkled in is always a treat. It was missed this time around.
@kylelenertz5509 Been a while since I watched it tbh, and between it being his longest running and his comment about his cup could hold toothbrushes, which isn't crowd work but doesn't seem too scripted either, I misremembered. My bad. But that doesn't change my views on his new special. Him making a point to mention why no crowd work was included this time and perhaps that was why it was about 50 minutes long seems even more of an excuse now when FitMW was almost 15 minutes longer without any. And if you think I don't like a joke of his because I didn't understand it, you're sorely mistaken. It's all subjective. You liking the special more doesn't make my opinion any less valid. Perhaps you and I have just come to expect different things from him. And in the end, I'm still a fan. I just don't think Bones and All lived up to what I was hoping it would be.

Good get! 👍 Jeselnik is one of the best, if not the best, out there. He & Dan share the motivation of being great at their craft and always trying to improve.
The comedians crying the loudest about "cancel culture" or any small criticism they receive, are wiping their tears with $100 bills. They're the most successful comedians, yet cry that they're canceled because they told a shitty joke.
As a writer and stand-up, this is exactly how I've approached the industry for success. Realized journalists are a tight group, moved quickly from Satire to just jokes. Hilarious, wonder if Fallon is looking for a writer??? Lol. Great and informative podcast. Sucks Anthony doesn't want to do many podcasts.
Jeselnik cares about the stand up comedy, as he calls it an art form. The comics largely doing crowd work as part of their act is what he thinks is also hacky with and a way to get cheap laughs. Stavros, Matt Rife to name a few who basically release specials of just crowd work. Being quick on their feet to react to the crowd's stories but not the same as putting together a strong hour special.
Jeselnik ,louis ck and mitch hedberg top 3 O.A.T for me. I love being alone but have always for ed myself to be social because i felt i was doing something wrong wanting to be alone. I appriciate you Anthony for sharing

Ya I used to like him a lot and then I heard the actual person in podcasts and stuff and ya he thinks he's the greatest comic ever and also has annoying opinions. But at least he's right about how shit Bert is at comedy lol
I like Rogan, I do listen to the podcast, not for Rogan, just for the guests I find interesting, Rogan isn’t my go to podcast though. I never really put much thought into the dynamics of the current comedy scene until Jeselnik called it out and I get what he is saying, I see Rogan creating a “club” the kind of club Carlin warned people about, almost like some kind of comedy conglomerate, I think the comedians Rogan has in his sphere are funny but I have never watched a single routine from any of them, including Rogan, I never connected with Rogan’s kind of comedy, I think Jeselnik looks at it like Rogan is devaluing real comedy and I think he might be right, I have watched many full routines from Jeselnik and he is one of the absolute best, I think he looks at comedy as sacred, something you had to fight for, to earn, something that was special, separate from the phoniness of Hollywood, and now the only people getting any real money are whoever Rogan is pushing, everyone of his friends are getting Netflix deals, Bert, never really found him that funny, Segura is ok, Mark Normand is funny but it’s almost a novelty, like a dirty Seinfeld mixed with one liners, Shane Gillis I think he is actually pretty good, still working on his skills but he is a comedian but none are even remotely close to the level of Jeselnik and never will be. The one issue I have with Jeselnik regarding the current state of comedy, he almost comes off a little bitter, he is well within his right to call out these guys but he can’t let his ego make him look bitter, I think Jeselnik deserves more comedic recognition than most people in comedy, I like that he is starting some drama because it is long overdue, I think it will actually make it so much better but he can’t look bitter or come off as looking jealous over money and brand deals.
It was George Carlin who said punching down wasn't always funny. Anthony is just saying a lot of comedians spend more time complaining about what would happen if they told a trans joke but can't even come up with a good trans joke that is funny. It's when you go so far right-wing that your entire stand-up bit is punching down, so much to the point where you're not making jokes. You're just throwing out insults. Kill Tony didn't make any good jokes about PR. They came just off insulting. It wasn't really funny, and the audience was taken aback by what he said.
I've always thought you can joke about anything, but if it's going to offend, it's got to be funny enough to be worth it. Just going 'don't Indian people smell?' or 'Don't trans people all look like a guy in a dress?' isn't enough. Unless you're only playing to idiots.

I really associate Dave w surprising us, w really unique perspectives etc, and at this point I’m bored w it. Like making fun of fat ppl, kinda low hanging fruit. But, yeah, I see ur point
Props on this interview, Dan & Team. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
How did this end up being the best interview I’ve seen all year
Bert Kreisher is the biggest comic in the world?
This is hell.
Seriously... as Bill Hicks once said....we live in a world where the mediocre thrive and proliferate
Bart Krystal sucks
As in fattest.
Matt rife is bigger than Bert.
🤮🤮🤮 bart
very informative and insightful conversation, Jeselnik is a talent who will keep making great comedy!
What a great interview. Anthony is incredibly smart and special. Great tone and questions. This is a thinking person's interview. Jeselnik is truly 1 of 1. I'm a fan.
Anthonys one joke netflix trailer is funnier than all of the roganverse
tim dillon & shane are beyond better then white guilt anthony.
Tim dillon???? I'll give you Shane, he's funny. But Tim dillon? Reevaluate your life man@@surge8016
"White guilt Anthony" you are a write off, buddy@surge8016
@surge8016 Tim was funny on podcast, but his stand up falls short. I bought tickets to his show and it's not the same as his podcast. His stand up is not as funny as his podcast. That's a fact that you can't deny. Tim is funny doing his podcast. Shane's stand up is more funny than Tim's stand up.
Tim got to chill with the snow
Good get! 👍 Jeselnik is one of the best, if not the best, out there. He & Dan share the motivation of being great at their craft and always trying to improve.
Really interesting interview, love him calling out the lazy culture these days. What a dedicated artist.
I was at that last one in Oslo. Laughed so hard my throat was sore, so that was new! If he shows up again, I'm there. JRVP!
What an interview. He really nailed it at the end. 1:13:45 or so
Coolest dude in comedy talking to the coolest dude in sports talk. Nice. 😊
Anthony sounds like a mix between John Mullaney, John malcovitch and Christopher Walken
Holy shit!!! How the hell did you articulate that and have it be so accurate 😂 Tim, I wish you a good day
The vowels are on a journey.
Yeah, I heard the Christopher Walken in there too.
The comedians crying the loudest about "cancel culture" or any small criticism they receive, are wiping their tears with $100 bills. They're the most successful comedians, yet cry that they're canceled because they told a shitty joke.
One of the best shows about comedy. And as a comedian I don’t think I would want to be around Anthony for more than 3 hrs.
What a great conversation, thank you Dan and Anthony!JRVP 4 LIFE!
Just once don’t ask “what did the struggle look like” 😂 this was great though. Anthony is awesome.
What an amazing interviewer!!
What a brilliant interviewer. What a brilliant interviewee.
What a great interview. Thanks. Always loved jeselnik
What a great interview… I learned more about both of these guys in one interview than have actually listening tot hem both for years
Did Anthony recently rewatch Team America and then give it to his barber as a style guide?
Fantastic interview. Great chemistry and great honesty
"I never want to be part of Rogan's crew" RESPECT
I watched Anthony's last 2 specials MORE than I've watched any other specials my entire life. I can't freakin wait until TOMORROW!!!
Anthony plugging JRVP, when he said on the last episode that they might call it quits haha
Thank you Dan...You all truly have the best content..

It's amazing how much a hairstyle can change the way someone looks. In the thumbnail I was like, "does Anthony come on later?"
I saw his comedy special a couple of days ago. I love his dark humor.
Fantastic interview. Love Jeselnik. I saw him perform 12 years ago at a tiny club in L.A, and he absolutely killed.
Lmao. This is the one I decide to watch. lol.
Junior Vice President
*whispers creepily* JRVP
Good job guys and the special was super funny
Wow, great interview 🍻
I can’t believe this! My two favorites! Both of you are heroic!
I think this is the BEST interview you have ever done. you asked great questions then got out of the way !!!!
Jeselnik cares about the stand up comedy, as he calls it an art form. The comics largely doing crowd work as part of their act is what he thinks is also hacky with and a way to get cheap laughs. Stavros, Matt Rife to name a few who basically release specials of just crowd work. Being quick on their feet to react to the crowd's stories but not the same as putting together a strong hour special.
is jeselnik playing david spade in a movie?
Never watched one of these but I felt this one was a cant missed and I'm glad I watch good stuff!
Rogan has never been a funny comedian.
Hey Dan! I've literally watched like 4 of your interviews. And this is definitely the best one you've ever done!
Jeselnik ,louis ck and mitch hedberg top 3 O.A.T for me. I love being alone but have always for ed myself to be social because i felt i was doing something wrong wanting to be alone. I appriciate you Anthony for sharing
Too bad he didn’t ask Jeselnik about the struggle and early days 10 times
Oh wait
Leftist here loving his comedy, really cool that he stands up for what he believes, of course that lose him money.
Dan did one I couldn't resist watching
Great interview, appreciate it, good to know a niche artist's perspective as an aspiring niche artist lol
I noticed you and Mark Normand tell jokes in a similar way. You guys always surprise me at the end of the joke always had a dark spin on it. You guys litterally brought me out of my depression so I literally owe you my sanity. So thanks to all you comics . It's the insight I think.
Anthony shaking the comedy world up. Joe Rogan and his unfunny friends getting exposed, thanks for a great interview
LMAO. Of course the new movie Jeselnik mentions is The Coffee Table. It's like Dead Baby: The Movie.
Anthony’s Marc Maron transformation is nearly complete.
Yea he’s even matching his haircut. It’s ridiculous. His ego is so large it’s entertaining
Anthony is the best in the business, hands down. Great interview
Jeselnik and Southbeach sessions!?!? hell yes!!!
how is this real?
My guy Anthony born. In
the Burg🎉 has always been smarter than most! , Iconic. Great interview DAN Thx😊
5:26 😂😂😂 Lmao take that Bert
He LOVES himself holy shit lol
Which is why he’s an incredible standup.. no one can do what he does 🤷♀️
He secure in who he is. He is who he is vs playing into the hands of let me that person they want me to be. Great interview.
Ya I used to like him a lot and then I heard the actual person in podcasts and stuff and ya he thinks he's the greatest comic ever and also has annoying opinions. But at least he's right about how shit Bert is at comedy lol
@@alexdatoss8962 what does he do? Just saying middle school lunchroom “edgy” jokes?
@@joshuawoolridge8378yea I can’t take his ego. It’s too much. It’s almost as if he practices how to sound like a douche
38:45 what does Anthony have against Ritalin?
Our baby grief-eater is relentless.
It has to be hard in order to be good. A quote.
That's what she said!!! ding ding ding
