IMHO you’re missing a salty briny pop- capers would be perfect, but olives would also work. Add roasted red bell peppers or tomatoes to the sandwich for the vitamin C that you’ll need to absorb the non-heme iron in the chickpeas to make it a nutritionally balanced sandwich!

Excellent basic recipe and very easy. Canned chickpeas already have that heady "from the sea" flavor profile. To intensify, I like to add kelp in the form of a kelp-based salt substitute. Also, a few drops of soy or tamari mixed with lemon juice works wonders. Others have mentioned capers, which is terrific as well but I would suggest moderation as it is strongly flavored.
Finally, shreds of canned jackfruit is highly recommended to provide that meatiness. When blended in, the final dish is all but indistinguishable of tuna, and in some cases, I think. better because it doesn't get water and runny like the "real thing,"
One thing I like to do is get a foot long veggie sub from Subway and spoon on the chickpea tuna! Add some jalapenos and it is IDENTICAL to the sub I remember from my carnivore days!

You can add some dulse or kelp or nori to give the fishy flavor to the mixture.

Didn't realize chickpeas were that versatile. Now we know what to do with the cans the family got on sale 😂😂

A stalk of celery is the entire plant - you must mean a rib of celery, which is an individual piece - otherwise this salad is going to be extremely celery forward for sure

She put the quotes around tuna which indicated its not actually tuna, and the title says Plant Based Recipe … get a life!
