Love Mike, he can make any sound amazing

The change from B major to heavy riffing in C sharp minor is very stylishly done. It changes the direction of the song - from pretty upbeat and dreamy to very dark - without sounding forced or dissonant. Superb musicians. Overall, it is surely one of their best songs.

This song. Patton’s multi tonalities.
The chord choices. The brutal in your face drum mix. The bass syncopation and key pads.
And this video to go with it. It’s one of the most gorgeous things ever created in the history of things that have been made.
I love how you put your comment, it's like poetry.

Yes, it's a beautiful masterpiece🤘🤘🤘🤘
And how can it be so sexy at the same time???

It's hard to believe this song is 27 years old. Hearing it can make one realize just how fast time passes you by when you aren't looking, if you are old AF like myself. The album the dropped right at the beginning of the summer 1989 is when I really got into them. You probably don't give a flying fuq, so I'll shut up now. 🤣🤣🤣
Love Mike Patton, there's nobody like him, what an original
True to that!😜
So damn true- he's truly himself and there is no one like him as you said. He is an original in his behaviour and his extraordinary talent and vocal range of 6 octaves!!
All girls love Mike Patton. Even after a 10 tear relationship my ex still has a mountain of his pictures.\
@LactoseTheIntolerant Its a common thread mate lol

Mike is like a Angel 🙏🏼🎈
I remember first time hearing this song on my Sony Walkman, when I was still a teenager, drown in angst, walking down the narrow streets of Istanbul. It hit me so hard, I still recall goosebumps. This song is inexplicably important for me. I still don't know where it touched in me.

Don’t worry. Angst stays with you your whole life. You’ll get used to it. Just learn to use it as a driving force.

The production on this track is incredible.
What an interesting song. Has a neat ambience to it. Love the all the little key board and synth sounds with the cool bass lines and chill beat
You mean the album, not just the track ;-)
Couldn't agree more, this whole album was a masterpiece.
yea & like all their shit so ahead of its time & inventive -tho i cant help notice, just now, that most their songs are like Serial Killer
I always thought that mikes voice is kinda drowned out by the music.

Time has seemed to have accelerated - the nineties, seemed to have started so normally, blink, I finished High School, blink again it was the year 2000 - Sydney Olympics. Blink again, I'm a Dad. Blink again I have two teenage girls and am building Lego listening to this awesome song.
Sometimes it makes me cry, that I didn't just stop and soak in those years. All in the pursuit of an education, job, money. I feel like I have somewhat wasted those years - just to go back to the mid nineties as a young man and enjoy myself a little bit more. I suppose they call it melancholy.

Gorgeous IQ and stunningly sexy work ethic too.

Bloody love that man.Fell in love when I saw Faith no More live
You are so right about that! He is so fine in short hair. I wish he was single and I could meet him.
FNM was the 1st band that made me realize that critics are total bullshit, for a while i was avoiding king for a day and album of the year because i saw a bad rating on it, but after i heard it i knew that these 2 albums are masterpieces, experimental, various genres and not to mention patton's crazy vocal skills, so versatile and unique
FNM were always a critical darling, and their records always received strong reviews from critics for the most part, so I'm not sure what you're really on about here?
Great band! I was into them when Chuck was in the band. Of coures Mike made it better! Coming from Mr. Bungle. He started in high school. With Trey.
"King for a Day" got slated by Melody Maker when it came out in '95. Thats when I realised music magazines are absolute bullshit to pay any attention to.
True indeed, good pt

Man if a 1000 voices; Mike Pattons voice here is just gorgeous. Amazing how he can sound so different with different songs and genres. What an amazing voice to behold .

ok let's get one thing straight. Just because so many musicians these days freakin auto-tune their shit up the fucking wazzoo, doesn't mean everyone does.

This is an extraordinary tune. I'm a writer and I like to be plugged into music while I toil away. I looped this in and have been listening to it over my headphones for hours. I can't seem to grow tired of it (that's rare for me). It's just so damn satisfying on every level.

He has a unique voice. He can hit more notes than the modern lip synchers and high rollers. The ones the unwashed masses worship: Taylor Swift, all mumble rap etc etc.
