Sad that he didn't feel he had the answer... I'll NEVER forget him and always pray he found his peace. 🙏🏼
Imagine hearing that being hummed into your ear. Any gender, any preference. This man will make you feel something primal, deep down. If but for a moment. You know you're good when you're buddies with Brad Pitt, and can have pictures taken with him without you looking like complete dumpster fire in comparison.
I was sitting on the edge of my chair holding my mothers hand as she was losing a 10 year fight with cancer in a hospice clinic while she was struggling to breathe asking her what can i do mom? I want to help. She looked me in the eyes smiled the same proud smile she'd shown me my whole life and said be yourself son. She died right after that. As i headed to my truck i got in tears rolling down my face turned the key and the radio came on with be yourself audioslave. I smiled and peeled out of the parking lot in the truck my mother and i built. From that day on i knew she was with me.
The power of this band combined with Cornell's unmatched vocal ability was one of the best musical recipes ever concocted. Even though they only made 3 albums, I am forever grateful for it's existence.
Cornell is a musical king Midas. The only mistake Cornell ever made was Scream. I think he just did it to see if he could pull it off. It didn't quite work out, although songwriting was solid as he proved in many acoustic performances of songs off of the album.
This song described exactly how I feelt a few years ago when I underwent a life crysis. I quit my job and spent 3 years doing some deep soul search and reflecting on my entire life. I came out of that with a lot of answers, it was definatelly a very intense time in my life, but also indispensable. That being said, I think I will allways ask God to show me how to live, since life is constantly posing new challanges.

I always thought the same thing. Something about Cornell's vocals with Audioslave is just better which is amazing because he was already legendary with Soundgarden.
Completely different styles and techniques. They both sound good, but Audioslave songs are very distortion heavy, and that completely wrecked his voice during the 2003 tour. This technique isn't the healthiest. It took 7 years for him to gradually work his way back up to those crazy high Soundgarden vocals.
I’m 35 and for me Soundgarden and Audioslave are still as relevant as the shitty pop music to current generation, just that SG and AS were musically talented
Very true, you do not know his life his mind, body or soul. Nor do I know yours. May Chris rest in Peace, we are not the ones to decide. But Love, Hope and Faith prevails all, if we choose.
I love so many bands that I can't imagine happy times and struggles without them. With that being said NO ONE can rip emotions out of my head like Chris Cornell. If he sang the damn phonebook it would trigger emotions and avoided thoughts.
For kids (or anyone else) who have not seen it... this video is a reference to the 1971 movie Vanishing point. And yes... Chris Cornell is one of the biggest losses the world of music has EVER suffered. I feel lucky to have been able to see him live with Soundgarden. Long live true rock - rest in piece, Chris. You may be away but you're still with us.
I was wondering if there was any "old guys" that remembered "Vanishing Point"! It came out in theaters in late 60's or early 70's, if I recall correctly... I might've been in my early teens when I first saw it, one of 1st movies I recall that had good rock n roll music soundtrack, I remember the Jesus freak who threw the box of rattlesnakes @ the guy who drove the Challenger in that flick! Guy also took acid in one part of movie also! It was a typical "B" movie, shown during summer vacation!
Chris Cornell had the BEST voice for soooooo many tunes he's done.....from beginning with Pearl Jam/Mother Bone Dog...Sound Garden....AudioSlave.....such an AMAZING artist gone way too soon!
This was the first Audioslave song I'd ever heard and I was dying to hear Cornel's voice start. Then at :49 seconds he comes in with the "Mm-mm-mm-mm"....love it
Can't believe you're gone chris, I remember my dad blastin you're music in the house and working out, now your with my dad in heaven 🙏🙏 .Rest in peace chris and My dad
I cant believe he is gone either I was in the mood for some good rock and search for tom morello I heard the bad news :( im crying inside I really love his music.
One year today dad... hard to believe in an hour and 33 minute's you left this world in physical form love you forever thanks for showing me great music like this, until i see you again DAD❤
We all love Chris's voice and the crazy sounds Tom can make on his guitar, but I think Timmy C is under-appreciated. He has a ridiculously good bass tone, it's exceedingly growl-y for a fingerstyle picker and radiates heaviness and power, especially on this song. Reminds me of slow moving magma for some reason. While Tom does his wacky solos, Tim keeps the rhythm of the song and adds heaviness to it at the same time. Go Tim!
+Soundtallica in Chains I got a 12-inch Sony home theater sub from a neighbor and tested it with this song for the exact reasons you detailed. The bass rolled along so nicely, I almost lost some pictures off the wall. =D
His wife took him out! I researched this for 2 years. There's no doubt. She is a greedy pile of garbage. What the hell did he see in that ugly face,he could a had anyone...smh
Out of all Seatle bands at the time Layne Staley alongside Chris were the best vocalists. I would put Scott Weiland and Kurt Cobain but They're another story
easily one of my favorite vocalists of all time, only second to lajon witherspoon. these guys that formed bands in this era sure know how to make timeless music. may he rest in peace.
Fun fact: that ending line where his voice cuts in and out was not a digital effect. He did it by (lightly!) tapping his Adam's apple with the side of his hand while shifting pitches, you can see him doing it in live performances of this song. Try it, with a little practice you can do it consistently.
This video is not only personal to several people but also goes back to the greatest, what I would call The best mix of two bands. Things like that normally don’t pan out… But this one, Velvet Revolver were hands-down… best. The person that designed or laid out the video for this, and the original of why it became what it is mind blowing in itself… To me it is anyways it’s personal… But it also obstructed and was a moment in time where I finally got to realize the accident led to the bruises, contusions and losses of my music at that point in reality not the video where my music was going. Not an accusation at those people… Just a moment of time where it all started coming together for me.
@@alext2566 Just what Chris did with Audioslave and Soundgarden alone is enough to warrant him being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and that's not even including the EXTENSIVE amount of other music he did with other artists. He's a certified legend.
@@alext2566 I'm a coward for speaking my mind? How does that work? I'd say it to the guy's face if I could. It's not like I have the option. And what is your logic? If someone is dead you're not allowed to have an opinion on them? Or it's ok to have an opinion of them, as long as it's a positive one? The guy's a good singer. I listen to his music all the time. It doesn't mean I have to like him as a person. And you don't have to like my comment. But I fail to see how it makes me a coward to say someone that walks out and abandons their children instead of dealing with their issues and being there for their kids, is a coward. I'm a parent. I'm also fighting a terminal illness myself. I could easily give up and just let myself die, because fighting is hard. But I refuse to do that. So you can call me a coward all you want. I know I'm not. As does anyone that knows me. You're just lashing out because you don't like what I said about some celebrity you put on a pedestal.
My dad passed away yesterday and now I'm making a playlist with all the songs he loved and I remember him by. This is one of them. Thank you dad for showing me the greatest artists of all times. Loved, missed and never forgotten 🤘🔥❤
RIP Chris Cornell, this video definitely encapsulated how you lived your life- passionate, chaotic, nihilistic. Still enjoyed your music from when I first saw Soundgarden at a music festival in 1992 alongside Pearl Jam and The Cult. If only you sought out the Lord Jesus Christ, he could have shown you how to have lived an abundant life in full and you'd still be with us man. You painted often in dark, vivid colors in your artistry, and there's certainly a need for such expression, but we have to be careful how much we linger in the shadows or it will take us captive forever.
I was listening to this track in the car with my older nephew a couple of years ago, the other day he thanked me for showing him this band.. -His singing voice is probably the most powerful I ever heard, -he said. I then said that it was really sad the we had lost him so soon, a long silence followed so we could only hear the song pounding in the cd player .. I miss road trips...
“Show me how to live”? That is what Cornell pulled from our souls. Show me how to live......Only our maker can answer that. Continue the drive to understand tomorrow.
This entire video is representative of Chris Cornell's life, up until the final sequence with the untimely death. RIP to one of the most iconic voices of the 90's.
I would say one of the best of all time! Dude could belt it out!! 80s kid her so I lived all of it.. Sad he got killed like Chester did for making a movie of all the molesters in hollywood and in the government!!!
My dad would always listen to music like this when I was young I remember him singing and trying to sing along with him. Now that I'm older and the lyrics actually hit and I can relate it just makes the music so much better. Love you Dan
Few days ago my daughter asked me what was my favorite song. Never before I had stopped to think about it, but I answered right away: Show Me How To Live. Absolute fire.
Chris's voice is like a science experiment gone right!!! His voice can change weather patterns and make thunderstorms its so powerful!!! He makes it look so easy.
More people need to know that Cornnel and Bennington's voices were snuffed for trying to produce a documentary on Hollywood pedophilia, and the Human Trafficking that it perpetuates.
I remember the first time I watched this video Cornell was tapping his throat with his hand to the end but now it seems to be cut off. Where could I find the original vid?
yes ...Chris is gone....BUT...one thing i do know right now ...is that he left a hell of a lot of great music behind for all of us to enjoy today... and for many generations to come... That is if anyone still knows and or understands what good music still is in the future...
I lost one of my closest friends around the time Chris and chester died.this is the song I come back to. Not like a stone, which is more about love, but this song is about staring into the eyes of your "creator". So beautiful
They( Chris first and Chester one yr later {{ and I stood in my yard came home from climbing palms to my oldest running out to tell me Chester died. We live north of where he lived and emailed and prayed for him , knowing the battle he was taking on}}. And sadly they were both taken out....way too close they were to exposing and trying to save others for the demonic ' masters ' to allow!!!! The small town we live in I witnessed with evidence nasty stuff and was threatened with my children being taken away if I pursued exposing..... These folks who do what they do have no and I repeat NO FORGIVENESS!!! CHRIST MESSIAH HIMSELF SAID MILLSTONE TO THE NECK AND INTO SEA( NATURAL JUSTICE) AND BETTER THEY WERE NEVER BORN ( SPIRITUAL JUSTICE BEFORE ABBAS THRONE)---- NO FORGIVENESS for anyone who harms a child to question/ stumble over EL!!!!! I pray for your peace that surpasses all understanding thru that incident and all grief to come!! ARMOR UP EACH MORNING SINCERELY PRAY WITHOUT CEASING LET NO MAN DECEIVE YOU
I hurt my throat every time I listen to this song. Damn he had a set of vocal chords on him. R.I.P Chris. No matter the reasons, you are gone far too soon. Remember this if you feel down. Sadness will pass, and better days are coming. Leaving doesn't mean it can't get worse, it only guarantees it can never get better. I've lost too many musician friends to suicide. I wish I could tell them I care enough so they never want to leave, but it's too late. If you still have friends, tell them you care, and show them you will be there for them no matter what. The alternative is a road you won't like to travel down.
I have seen, listen to and enjoy so many bands throughout my 60 years of live...but Criss Cornell will always the God of rock. One of my greatest sad moments was to realize I would not be able to see him with Audio slave. the world lost an incredible human being and a monster musician. I will always miss Criss. I feel so blesed that I was able to see you with Soundgarden.
@@erinschannel8501 wheres your degree in logic? his body guard had full access to chris's room. he still attempted to break the door down (alibi was it was interior locked.). the device used to strangle chris was covered in blood. he was too tall to strangle from the doorway from the device used as well. chris had numerous broken ribs, way beyond what cpr would do. maybe break a few.. but almost 10 ribs broken???.. i could understand 3-5 broken, but 8-9 broken ribs? that means improper cpr... by a trained person in cpr?!? .. the security guard who guarded chris had previously extorted heidi klum. then his best friend dies from suicide too.. the same way.. thats called a hit.

i’m 20 years old and i’m so so damn happy my father showed me Chris’s music and took me to a concert before he passed. awesome experience!
I’m 35 and for me Soundgarden and Audioslave are still as relevant as the shitty pop music to current generation, just that SG and AS were musically talented
That's so badass
R.I.P. Chris....Rock In Paradise with other greats we have lost.
Paradise? He killed himself. In all three of the Abrahamic religions thats a one way trip to hell. You know assuming its not all nonsense
I don't practice any abrahamic religion. You don't what he was fighting with in his mind, body or soul. May he rest
Very true, you do not know his life his mind, body or soul. Nor do I know yours. May Chris rest in Peace, we are not the ones to decide. But Love, Hope and Faith prevails all, if we choose.
Tus canciones siempre estaran conmigo... descansa y vuela muy alto...
Nobody Believes in that shit. I think Chris Cornell is in a better place.
God love you Chris, I don’t think we will be blessed with a voice like yours again.
Simply one of the greatest hard rock vocal performances ever.
Happy Heavenly Birthday Chris ; I hope Tim, Brad and Tom are all well 🙏🏻♥️♥️♥️
Chris Cornell was one of the greatest vocalists of all time. Miss you, man. RIP
I love so many bands that I can't imagine happy times and struggles without them. With that being said NO ONE can rip emotions out of my head like Chris Cornell. If he sang the damn phonebook it would trigger emotions and avoided thoughts.
yup agree him and Dio
R.I.P. Chris Cornell.
Your legacy, and your UNIQUE singing style that was capable of stirring emotions, LIVES ON FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RIP Chris, you sure showed many of us how to live!

Best Video ever..."Show me how to live" XXO
yea
There will never be another Rock voice that could hold a candle to Chris Cornell.🙏❤
You're exactly right about Chris brother. 🤘
I had no idea....i thought man they spent a million making this video lol
Thanks everybody references fast an furious this is a tribute to 70's vanishing point
Beautiful person 💔
I so respectfully tip my hat to Chris. Possibly the last of real rock stars, and all the inspiration he brought to his fans.. and me! 😥🙂👍
😀
I love his music
Me too! Special place in my heart, forever, for him! May his murder not ever be forgotten- and why.
Chris Cornell had the BEST voice for soooooo many tunes he's done.....from beginning with Pearl Jam/Mother Bone Dog...Sound Garden....AudioSlave.....such an AMAZING artist gone way too soon!
I think thats why they killed chris. He represented rock stars and the industry wanted to kill that off and replace it with hip hop
Such an incredible vocal talent...missing him much!
So do I..! And always will..!
Big loss for our planet and souls!!!😞
That makes three of us.
Really ,wheellll.i never meat him but he realy whassss fantastic.maybe 1 day :))))
I thought I was on Facebook for a second
@@chodechotchney5331you should crawl back there kid
This was the first Audioslave song I'd ever heard and I was dying to hear Cornel's voice start. Then at :49 seconds he comes in with the "Mm-mm-mm-mm"....love it
"And in your waiting hands
I will land
And roll out of my skin
And in your final hours I will stand
Ready to begin"

Still listening and loving ❤RIP Chris Cornell😢
Hearing Audioslave in the early 2000s felt like the 90s was giving us one last gasp of air and it felt great.

The good ones die early . Leaving us bewildered. But the music says it all.
Absolute truth!!!
RIP Cornell

Gone but NEVER will be forgoten
Your lyrics are clearer
When I know how you went and why
If I can believe the press😢
+Soundtallica in Chains thnk you for agreeing with everything i think

+Soundtallica in Chains yeah but have you heard this Bass player from Deepshade www.soundcloud.com/deepshademusic

+Soundtallica in Chains No love for Brad Wilk? He always adds what the songs need and keeps them groovy (specially on RATM).
R.I.P another legend. Gone but forever In our hearts.
You'll never be forgotten, Chris.
His wife took him out! I researched this for 2 years. There's no doubt. She is a greedy pile of garbage. What the hell did he see in that ugly face,he could a had anyone...smh
How did he pass away?
There's a line from ZERO CHANCE that relates to this song -"Why Doesn't Anyone Believe In Loneliness?!"-a beautiful man taken way too soon 😢
There will never be another voice like Chris'. He himself is the legend that will stand the test of time. Happy New Year's Eve 2019/2020 everyone!
i completely agree sweety
I love the tribute to the film Vanishing Point. Awesome movie.
Dont cry because he is gone, smile because he was here.
i cry while i smile
Yep that's true
That's a beautiful way to think. Chris always makes me smile.
I do both.
~ Dr Seuss.
Please give credit where credit is due. Dont try to pass of a quote as your own.
The 🐐 Chris Cornell
R.I.P
Fun fact: that ending line where his voice cuts in and out was not a digital effect. He did it by (lightly!) tapping his Adam's apple with the side of his hand while shifting pitches, you can see him doing it in live performances of this song. Try it, with a little practice you can do it consistently.
thats also how spongebob's voice actor did his iconic laugh lol
Its a technique used by beatboxers to create sound effects
fun fact i saw this movie when it was released in theaters . i was 9 0r 10..1972 OR 73 . buddy kills at end of movie. not fun fact
Didn’t know this, so cool thanks for sharing ❤
That's vocal talent

R.I.P Chris never forget you
I’m 72. This is the latest great music I know of. Anything else comparable?
Chris ' voice is stronger than today's relationships. One of the greatest vocalists in the history of Rock n' Roll.
Well said. personally speaking, today's relationships have no real meaning, no rules to follow. Rip Chris
No rebuttals here. He was silk, dipped in kerosene.
Preach Brother! loved this guy since circa 1990
He was so fucking amazing!
wrong......THE BEST, not one of. ;)
Still brings a chill up my spine when he let's that voice fire off... what a legend!!!
Did you ever see him live? A rock god in the flesh.
TA A yup. Saw him 6x
It's still hard to believe that this beautiful, talented man is gone, but his music lives on. 🌹💔
This video is not only personal to several people but also goes back to the greatest, what I would call The best mix of two bands. Things like that normally don’t pan out… But this one, Velvet Revolver were hands-down… best.
The person that designed or laid out the video for this, and the original of why it became what it is mind blowing in itself… To me it is anyways it’s personal…
But it also obstructed and was a moment in time where I finally got to realize the accident led to the bruises, contusions and losses of my music at that point in reality not the video where my music was going. Not an accusation at those people… Just a moment of time where it all started coming together for me.
Rock and roll and no bullshit...
R.I.P Chris Cornell
Beautiful Dodge Challenger !
Whoop Whopp Cheers 🎉 🎉♥️
Such an explosive song. Chris voice just takes it a notch higher. Got chills.
"Cornell had the songwriting skills of the Beatles, the weight of Black Sabbah, and a powerful voice like Mercury." - DAVE GROHL
He was everything!!
Easily top 5 all time rock/metal vocalists AND songwriters. Extremely underrated in the latter, his body of work is insane
@@alext2566 Just what Chris did with Audioslave and Soundgarden alone is enough to warrant him being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and that's not even including the EXTENSIVE amount of other music he did with other artists. He's a certified legend.
Including a coward that caused immense harm to his own children by removing himself from their lives. That is unforgiveable.
@@daemonthorn5888 at least he wasn't the sort of coward who anonymously insults dead people on the internet
Makes my heart ache listening to Chris, this world just wasn't enough. Rest in Peace Chris, you're missed
This song has not aged at all. Sounds even better 17 years after it's release. God I miss Chris Cornell.

Honestly found it last week and cant play it enough. I remember hearing about his death but now it makes me sad that I could never see this song live.

There is reason why Chester adores Chris Cornell. This guy is a legend. RIP Sir.
Amen to this post! Miss them both everyday and night wishing they was still here with us.

Yes, bhai!!!! YES!!!!
now chester can be with him in the afterlife, both deserved so much more
Better to have heard as much from them as we did. Legendary.
At the beginning of the song I'm listening to it at normal volume, when the chorus comes I turn it up to full volume instantly. CC is a legend!
Unique voice. Unique sound. Simple Unique " Audioslave" ... Long Live Chris Cornell...
Road trip then Bro!! Don´t let this Covid fraud stop you from living as a free man!
“Show me how to live”? That is what Cornell pulled from our souls. Show me how to live......Only our maker can answer that. Continue the drive to understand tomorrow.
I played for my 6 yr old granddaughter, someone’s gotta show her real music!
Chris Cornell is one of the reasons I started to play music. Owe him a lot.
he brought my voice out.. did u ever get to see is tap the throat trick at end of the song.
This entire video is representative of Chris Cornell's life, up until the final sequence with the untimely death. RIP to one of the most iconic voices of the 90's.
No it's not, it's about Frankenstein. He said he was inspired to write this song after reading the book.🤣

ARMOR UP EACH MORNING SINCERELY
PRAY WITHOUT CEASING
LET NO MAN DECEIVE YOU
Like A Stone is not about love, Tim C. explained that one, it is about a man who lost everything and is waiting for death.
It's a retelling of Mary Shelley's - Frankenstein. So ya. Pretty cool.
