  • In our final episode of the season, Tom lets you ride passenger through the highs and lows of a typical barn find trip. Despite what most episodes portray, not all barn finds come easy. This episode is a prime example of Tom digging for leads and finding any way possible to discover cars. After several failed attempts, Tom finally discovers a Dodge A100 sportsman van the good ole fashion way, the traditional drive-by. This van proved to be a decent candidate for a runner, despite some of the rust. This particular A100 was packaged with a 318 V8 and served as a daily driver for most of its life. Heading on down the road, Tom finds another location of cars that is littered with unique finds. Among the bunch, there’s one car that takes the cake, a car we’ve never found on “Barn Find Hunter,” a GMC Syclone. This low-mileage beast of a pickup sits nestled up on blocks to keep the pressure off the original Firestone tires and suspension. It’s rare you ever find an old car this well preserved. Follow along as Tom gives you a tour of the rest of the property.

The Syclone and Typhoon had the 4.3 Chevy engine of course Turbo charged. The Turbo Regal's from 1978 thru 1987 where all 3.8 Buick engines. Just an FYI, love your show!

Everyone seems to confuse that. They're Turbocharged V6s, but one is a 3.8 and the other a 4.3. Same thing with people thinking that the 5.4 on the SVT Lightning is the same V8 that equips the Ford GT.

To add to this, the 4.3 in the Sycolne is essentially Chevy 350 with the back 2 cylingers removed.

@@scootersonlyrepair6773 The years mean nothing to me. What about 1959 Impalas with 3 deuces? The GR and GNX were meant for neck-snapping straight line speed. The newer GT500, ZL-1, etc., are muscle cars as well. But if you're into numbers, my opinion is that 1970 would be the last year on your chart due to emission chokes. Great to start my morning off once again with a good cup of Joe and "Barn Find". Only problem I have with allot of these finds is that the "owners" don't drive them.......I've been a "Car Guy" my entire life, currently have two (I find, buy, fix, and sale/swap); a C4 Corvette and a VW Karmann Ghia getting ready for this u comping Ohio spring. But I drive my "Classics"; have to drive them, having them in a barn covered up is a great find but doesn't do much for me. I'm a "Road Trip" guy, make at least 3-5 trips a year from Ohio to Florida to see family and made those trips in a VW Beetle; Alfa Romeo 164 and hope this spring to do it in either the Vette or the Ghia. Being a lefty in the 60's with the 'rightys' desks probably taught you how to write like that. I've never seen anyone write perpendicular though. I love the show! Keep it up! If you care to explain how that came to be, and I know it's a car show, but I'm very intrigued.

Another great vid. Love the Falcons and the Syclone. But no mention of the Saturn Sky (Pontiac Solstice twin) behind the Falcon wagon (8:49)? They are starting to get collectible.

I get to see a syclone like every month. I keep trying to get my cousin to take it to the strip but he’s too chicken to race it at the track.
Edit: it’s funny for me, since I now own said syclone

I haven't seen one since high school in Canada where a kid had one as a daily driver. Perhaps not the best choice in the snow but if I had rich parents why not?
