That's a cool stump bucket! I need to get me one of those! I wish bobcats had more room inside for when I need to work on them...

I do love that stump bucket. I can pop stumps out in minutes that would have taken years to rot out and its easier on the machine than using the bucket to hammer stumps out

How hard will it be to replace the tensioner pulley? I have a 753F series that just started overheating on me the other day. Your setup looks almost the same as mine. The belt is ok, but when I grabbed onto the tensioner pulley, I could move it back and forth very easily. I also noticed that if I pushed it by hand to tighten up the belt, it would not hold the tension.....the tensioner would just slip back down and loosen the belt again. I wonder if that is why it is overheating?

Yep...sure sounds like the spring on your tensioner has quit you.
Other than being a bit of a bear to reach, the tensioner should be an easy thing to replace and is pretty commonly found to be bad when your machine starts overheating. I believe you will find that to be a DIY repair for sure. Probably gonna be a belt, and a tensioner arm, and probably the pulley on the tensioner arm too.
You will know for sure when you pull the tensioner out of there. It should be an easy part to get as it is a common thing to go bad.
Let us know how it goes!

Is there tension on the belt tensioner? I have a s175 that’s overheating and the belt is loose. I can reach in there and move the tensioner back and forth. I am wondering if I need to tighten it or if the Spong is broken

    • @AHandleOnThings

      Ken,
Yes sir, there is a spring tensioner pulley that should be keeping tension on the belt. It is a bit of a pain in the backside to get at but needs to be snug. Also, be sure to check the condition of the plastic pulleys, they like to get chewed up and essentially the "Floor" of the v-groove gets eaten out. That can be hard to see with the belt still on, and absolutely will mess up your belt program.
Good luck, and let us know what you come up with! As the old saying used to go...inquiring minds want to know !
      Stay safe my friend!
