  • We had no idea how this angle drive came apart and couldn't find any information online about how it would come apart so we decided to investigate on our own and make a video to help others who might face the same issue. our way will cost you roughly around 60 to $80 instead of a $1,000 plus for buying a new one.

    Mine completely seized I pulled the bottom piece off without pulling out the shroud which I know is a No-No but I got it out and I realized it's just rusty and look up the cost of Canadian for replacement one that's right in Canada where do we get ripped off royally as you all know down south like a $1.95 a liter for fuel not a gallon so the price to buy this replacement part in Canadian before tax is 2,200 and I thought there's got to be a way to pull it apart and I'm looking at it and thinking friend of mine said check TH-cam and here you are like the godsend exactly the same as mine the blower part that is so when I what's your video it actually was very informative as I am going to assemble mine one with new parts like you did and if it cost me $150 Canadian way cheaper than 2,200 ! Special thank you for making the video both ends of mine are screwed solid as a rock the shaft internally is in excellent shape the bearings went dry and of course here we are so thank you again for the great informative video add more people were to try and fix their own bobcat it will save you thousands of dollars just have the patience. Awesome video

    Looked like a farming video to me.
    The Bobcat is part of the farms inventory. You use it to farm with.
    So if there is any person out there that has a skid-steer and hadn't worked on it, then let them cast the first wrench.
    Great video and God bless.

    Working on your farm equipment is a very important part of farming also. You work your equipment hard so sooner or later they break down. So the farmer needs to know how to repair their equipment. By fixing your own equipment helps to protect your bottom line at the end of the season...
    Thank for the DYI video. Be blessed my friend in Jesus name... BBE

      You are right, it is much easier on the pocket book when you fix it yourself and of course that is part of farming something is always broken it seems with our old equipment. Glad you enjoyed the video and hope you stick around to watch our farm grow. God bless you too

    I bought a set of 3, 12 inch brass drifts of different diameters to use for things like this. They don't scratch things like harden steel can. They have worked well for me.

    Interesting video, but I don't understand the point of failure of the fan drive/fan. What was the symptom that brought your attention to the assembly, and what part actually failed.

    • @FreedomFarmsMo
      @FreedomFarmsMo  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The bearings as shown in the video failed, likely due to a leak and the oil being low causing the bearings to get hot and quit essentially.

    Thanks for the video mine has had a small rattle for years and I've been looking for some information on the shaft sense I bought my machine ( by far the most handy piece of equipment I own) one question did Napa have the bearings in stock or did you have to order them

    • @FreedomFarmsMo
      @FreedomFarmsMo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you found it helpful! Napa ordered them but they were in the next day. Bobcat had the seals on hand though at least.

    Thanks for the video. I'm just curious, it's been a little over a year since you posted this video, how are the sealed bearings holding up compared to the open bearings that you replaced?

    • @FreedomFarmsMo
      @FreedomFarmsMo  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it. The bearings are doing fine, put a little over 150 hrs on it so far. Our busy time is winter when use it to feed animals and clean the livestock barn out. it's in a very dusty environment too.

    Awesome video. I noticed you didn't do anything with the pulley end of the shaft (part that sits horizontal when mounted). Does that end have the same bearing and seal as the vertical part of the drive? I've also seen a sleeve referenced to go in the rebuilding/repair of this component. Which shaft would it be for? Thanks again, Jeff.

      It's been a little while since I've done it let me rewatch the video and make sure I give you the correct answers. I may not have a chance to do so until tomorrow afternoon hope that is okay

    • @FreedomFarmsMo
      @FreedomFarmsMo  ปีที่แล้ว

      I just watched the video no I did not do anything with the shaft that has the pulley on it those bearings were actually in good shape and did not need replacing. As far as a sleeve or a race for any bearings to set on there is nothing that I saw. I also am not sure if the bearings are the same size or the seal for that horizontal shaft with the pulley. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I do appreciate you watching and I also appreciate the comment!

    So I have a T190 with the same problem. I tried to order the gears, seals, and bearings from Bobcat but my dealer is saying that you cannot order those parts separate. You have to buy the whole assembly. How did you get all the separate parts?

    • @FreedomFarmsMo
      @FreedomFarmsMo  ปีที่แล้ว

      I ordered the seals from bobcat. I didn't need new gears though. That could be what the are referring to.

  • @biglouie69

    NOTE: When checking the fan gearbox oil level, be sure the level does not go above the top of the shaft in the gearbox [Figure 70-60-7]. Use a light colored 90W gear lube if thelevel is low. From the 763 Manual. Could yours be overfilled? Thanks for a good video on a subject not covered anywhere else. I did get a pdf of the service/repair manual and noticed the note I pasted above. Might be worth adjusting your levels. My angle drive unit had the breather hose fall off and it was running bone dry. Big time wear on the bearings with only 1200 hours on a 25 year old machine

    • @FreedomFarmsMo
      @FreedomFarmsMo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the information! Like you said there is nearly no information online about it. I will check this afternoon and drain out any excess. I would guess mine leaked out some of that extra as you saw in the video. mine was around 1130 hrs on the 2002 s250 in the video. However after the rebuild it has been working great ever since. Thanks again for the information! I appreciate it!

      @@FreedomFarmsMo I did find pdf versions of service manual and parts manual on eBay for about $20 each. Really helpful. Still, thanks for your effort as it showed me that I didn’t need any exotic tools to complete the job, so I dove right in and will save a chunk-o-change. Unfortunately the surface of both long and short shafts where the seals ride was in sad shape. My unit was filled with rust, watery sludge, and no oil. If I had found it at the bottom of a lake, I don’t think it would have been worse! Expansion tube was off but how water got in there, who knows? 25 years of only changing filters and oil is evident.

    • @FreedomFarmsMo
      @FreedomFarmsMo  ปีที่แล้ว

      I looked at eBay but didn't find the s250 one I should probably look again. I was fortunate that mine was in good shape other than the bearings themselves failing thankfully. I figured tearing mine apart and seeing if it was rebuild able was a no brainer, I had nothing to lose. I could either fix it or had to buy a $1000 new one
