It’s given me the same surge of inspiration to work on my personal gaming projects that other extremely successful indie games have had, it’s that good. Everybody who worked on this is an artist that deserves the utmost respect and the dankest of memes.

Pretty much just a one trick pony, but when it showed up again it just wasn't funny anymore, just groan inducing, at least to Vinny. professorjordan As for Vlinny well he just faded into the background like most Tomodachi characters aside from Sponge and a few others. I didn't know about the shipping but that's just something to be expected by some people with a character driven "narrative" unfortunately. Although at least Vlinny is a fictional character, so it's not too uncomfortable, and I mean people did the same thing with Cling On so I don't think it was that bad: it's not like shipping two actual people together.

While I’m not the guy who made this romhack, I do want to clarify something that was mentioned in the full-stream. Someone had mentioned that the voice lines and other pieces on non-SPC audio are done via the MSU-1, a custom expansion chip that essentially acts like what the Sega-CD did for the Genesis/Mega Drive, bringing CD Quality audio to a game. This is not the case here. The voice clips and other audio are literally just SFX. That’s it.
yeah it's something that I felt like clarifying in the reddit post as well. The tool I used, AddMusicK, lets you load whatever instrument you want on a per-song basis. This means you can load the entire sound font from Chrono Trigger for one specific song. In the smw romhacking community, that's called a "sampled port". The opposite, an "unsampled port", is a song that only utilizes instruments from SMW. Sampled songs also mean you can import Penn Jillette saying "shut the fuck up" easily (Torchkas did that btw), so long as you respect the Audio RAM limitations

I'll do a list too: • A statue based of a puppet of an ad by a worker of the freddy krueger movie. • bunch of marios dancing. • a background "doing the mario". • despacito remixed from a game about building and shooting. It's really not necessary, the full version has like, 5 minutes of new content at most. The rest is just the same levels that goes on for waaaaaay too long and overstay their welcome. I would say just watch the highlights and skip on watching the fullsauce version.

I’ve said this before on the Fullsauce upload, but Mario’s Mystery Meat is honestly one of the best ROM hacks I’ve ever seen So much quality & effort was put into what was essentially a huge Vinesauce shitpost, which makes it all the better

Yeeeeah nah, like don't get me wrong, this hack is amazing, but the full stream is more or less just this video with a bunch of dead air. Like, when I read comments like this I assumed they had to cut whole levels and that they were exclusive to the full steam, but nop, there's like, 5 minutes of new content there, the rest is just levels that we already saw just stretched out for 4 times the necessary length that just go on, and on and oooooooon. Maybe the fullsauce version is missing something, cause it's legit just a slog to get through if you already watched the highlights.

I usually like to take my time with edits (since I'm usually busy with real life and we got a healthy backlog of videos to post on here), but considering current circumstances I wanted to give myself a little challenge. Obtained the original video files last week on Tuesday, got the final draft approved on Sunday. Maybe not super impressive, compared to other editors, but I'm still happy with the results. Hope you all enjoy it, even if it's still kinda long at 24 minutes. There was just so much good stuff that I didn't want to cut out. :)
Words cannot describe how glorious this stream and this game was. One of the best fangames I've ever seen and it introduced me to a plenty of great tunes too, really good music picks on this one.

As a person who made SMW rom hack levels in the past I have to state, that this rom hack is absolutely impressive: Sure, you've got some standard custom graphics, sprites and music but this hack stands above all of that. The custom pixel art, structure, concept and all those custom programming ASM shenanigans - and this was so complicated for me to implement back in the day - make this an outstanding piece of art. All my respect for the creator.
This entire video feels like a tv show episode for like a milestone that just throws a bunch random ass references of the series history that makes no sense to anyone unless you watched all the other episodes

While I’m not the guy who made this romhack, I do want to clarify something that was mentioned in the full-stream.
Someone had mentioned that the voice lines and other pieces on non-SPC audio are done via the MSU-1, a custom expansion chip that essentially acts like what the Sega-CD did for the Genesis/Mega Drive, bringing CD Quality audio to a game.
This is not the case here. The voice clips and other audio are literally just SFX. That’s it.
So it's using only the stock SPC700 audio chip?

yeah it's something that I felt like clarifying in the reddit post as well. The tool I used, AddMusicK, lets you load whatever instrument you want on a per-song basis. This means you can load the entire sound font from Chrono Trigger for one specific song. In the smw romhacking community, that's called a "sampled port". The opposite, an "unsampled port", is a song that only utilizes instruments from SMW. Sampled songs also mean you can import Penn Jillette saying "shut the fuck up" easily (Torchkas did that btw), so long as you respect the Audio RAM limitations

I usually like to take my time with edits (since I'm usually busy with real life and we got a healthy backlog of videos to post on here), but considering current circumstances I wanted to give myself a little challenge. Obtained the original video files last week on Tuesday, got the final draft approved on Sunday. Maybe not super impressive, compared to other editors, but I'm still happy with the results. As a person who made SMW rom hack levels in the past I have to state, that this rom hack is absolutely impressive: Sure, you've got some standard custom graphics, sprites and music but this hack stands above all of that. The custom pixel art, structure, concept and all those custom programming ASM shenanigans - and this was so complicated for me to implement back in the day - make this an outstanding piece of art. All my respect for the creator.
