Considering the stuff in the hack is happening at a faster rate than in casual, I'd believe it. Especially how quickly he had to see Bleach get eaten before his eyes.
This is what happens when boredom meets an extremely vivid imagination.
Given how the project went on hiatus for a year I imagine the game was only worked on when the opposite of boredom took place.

When the TAS of a video game is almost HALF AN HOUR, that really says something about the amount of effort that was put into this fangame.

This hack alternates between being hilarious and awfully sad/depressing for some reason, fitting for Sponge, I suppose.

If you wanna shave off a few seconds, take the baby yoshi directly to baby jail without feeding it. It can eat the Beans even before becoming a full yoshi, and even saves you from the "indirect kiss" message box.

I think that doing the Ringo fight would also be faster, but maybe it's not because skipping the quiz is probably even faster

And here I finally realized the entire story of this romhack. Sponge jumped into Meat's mouth and then he ended up being inside that weird meme world. So in the end, Sponge defeats that same Meat and then he climbs out of that world on a giant mushroom, still unhappy though because he's still yet to find the reliable source of meat. Oh right, I forgot to mention Princess Bleach was eaten by the same Meat.
_By the time he got there, the Princess was dead._

Also it turns out Mario and Luigi can't even eat meat, so Sponge's quest was a fool's errand from the start.

Considering that I haven't been an avid subscriber to Vinny's content as long as other people to fully understand some references, I still to this day come back to watch gameplay of this game. It's fascinating enough to be called a full-blown Mario game, plus nostalgic features and memes.
Okay so what I got from this is that the mario cape completely breaks the later levels.
Honestly I think it kinda breaks everything if you're really good at using it.
That is some damn fine capework. I didn't even know it was possible to infinitely gain air like that.
@@Nat_the_Chicken yeah it already breaks the actual Super Mario World. Though they do try to balance it a bit by making it somewhat hard to learn to use properly. Though it doesn't really take that long to get to grips with it and begin doing crazy stuff with it. But yeah compared to say the Ray the flying squirrel character in Sonic Mania it's harder to use. They at least try to make it useful for finding secrets. Rather than just being a way to skip levels. But the raccoon leaf in SMB 3 was better all round, because it had limitations and you couldn't just fly indefinitely.

Ironically enough, the Super Leaf from SMB3 was originally going to be in SMW, but the Cape replaced it.

the color pallet, sprite work, and over all creative in this mario world hack is simply unmatched
i think it says something about the amount of effort put into a project when the TAS of a fangame is nearly half an hour long

It is possible to steal the Yoshi without having to do the fight. Just keep throwing it as soon as you grab it. It seems to be on a looping timer, and the intervals seem to be just long enough to escape in the pipe with it.

You can't bring it further than the Daksu quiz room, I've tried my best.
@@forple8930 No, you can bring it further than that. I've managed to take it all the way to the end of the Smile Ghost section, however something strange with the pipe transition at the end of that section causes the item to be permanently lost after that

I don't know shit of what is going on, but I am impressed by how unsettling it is and by how diverse it is. Great technical stuff and truly unsettling. Could end up becoming a real scary ass game like Yume Nikki, with more gameplayability.

yeah pretty much every character or enemy in this is a reference to popular/reoccurring vinesauce joke.
meat, sponge, princess bleach, vineRizon(an emote on his channel with a backstory i don't even know), the frog, jay leno(a bad impression he does occasionally), time to take a piss (a video he didn't make but popularized), CBT, squeezing hogs, and like all of his twitch emotes are there as well as the SMUP sectiom being a copy of vinesauce's favorite shooter game as a kid
i would recommend watching the steamer himself play it over the TAS

Haha, I don't think the hell segment is beatable, after a certain point the flames become much faster than Mario's max x speed, so even with tools it's impossible to escape them.

In the editor it only goes for a few screens, and the level is intentionally designed to inhibit full speed running, so you're basically forced into the flames.

A big time saver would be to simply turn gravity mode on when falling into the meat's meat, it makes you fall directly into the hole
