    You are definitely PCP hooked. I put a regulator in my Bandit set to ~ 125 BAR. I GET 14 very consistent shots, pump it back up to 190 BAR, (~ 25 - 30 strokes), and start shooting again.
    Keep that young one shooting. It will develop a lifetime positive memory.
    Cheers,
    Bob

      @@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner Maybe I need to exchange the gun. It was very difficult to remove the barrel. When putting it back I found out, that if I wouldn't use the holder, the barrel would go up about 10cm... this is why removing and putting back the barrel is very hard. I,ve bought the same pump 18 month ago and use it on all of my PCP‘s. Some of them working on 230 or even 250 bar and i have no problems filling them. My Kral Puncher Ekinoks has a 480cc bottle and it take some strokes to fill it and i have to let the pump cool down if i want to use it for another gun😉.
    Have no 300bar rifle and think it could be hard to pump that high pressure by hand. Great to see that your son also is a sharpshooter 👍😎

      @Andreas Budischek that is great so how much extra effort is it to go to 250Bar I know it is probably difficult to quantify it. It definitely gets a little tougher on mine when I get to about 180Bar.

    Pumping looks like a workout but not too bad !
    I liked the informative part on different guns and pressure,
    An avenger would just be harder to pump but I could still pump it by hand?
    It is something to take in consideration tho!

    • @African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner
      @African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, you would definitely need to put in more effort to pump up an avenger and the bigger reservoir would also require more pumps for a fill. The other option for lower pressure is the Kral puncher NP01 and NP05 also runs at 200bar

    What is the FPS on one like that in .177 ?
    Just trying to compare it to a CO2 like the Chaser. (I'm around 550fps on the CO2, so unless the PCP gets you up to that 675-700fps, then I think the CO2 is much easier on this old-mans back) 😁

    • @African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner
      @African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Plane Fun here is South Africa the PCP will definitely be around the 1000fps range, in the UK due to the sub 12fpe restrictions it will probably run between 750-780fps. I hope that helps, if you just doing closer range target work or pest control say up to 20m I do think the CO2 will work a charm.

      PR900 gen2 is great if you're happy with a little less power around(20fpe) with reg set at 115bar or want to mainly do target work. The PR900 gen1(unregulated) which I had can go up to about 30fpe with about 14 pretty consistent shots so probably better for hunting. If de-tuned you will get more shots but less power, and probably a little more accuracy. Hands down, I believe the PCP will easily be more accurate than the artemis Gr1600

    • @African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner
      @African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Your assumption is 100% correct it will be much quieter. You will need to balance things out though. Smaller transfer port maybe 2.5mm and a lighter hammer spring.

    • @jla9096
      @jla9096 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner oh so you mean it cannot be done with the default setup? I was hoping I could do this out of the box without needing to tinker. Why might those changes be needed?

    • @African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner
      @African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Is your stormrider regulated or unregulated? If it is regulated you could set the reg pressure down to 70bar and still fill to a higher pressure. Not that your rifle won't work but it is not going to be a smooth shot cycle. You see the pressure in the valve controls how long the valve stays open and to balance that out you use the tension of the hammer spring to control how hard you hit the valve. So if the pressure is low then it is like using an 8lb hammer to knock in small brad tacs. The other way to balance it is to make the transfer port smaller then you allow less air out of the valve this will reduce fps and thereby noise. The easiest solution is to get a bigger silencer

    • @jla9096
      @jla9096 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner thanks for the thorough reply. Mine is unregulated (just stock from the factory). So you're saying that even filling to 70 BAR unregulated will still be loud due to the force of the hammer spring? I was trying to find a regulator online but couldn't find one for sale. Not sure about a transfer port either, some were saying online that it's too risky to try to replace that. Maybe my best option would be a silencer from TKO?

    • @African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner
      @African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the silencer is definitely the easiest option. The factory silencer is actually the same as what is used on the chaser so is probably a little under designed for the stormrider. You will need a silencer which has more volume. To work on the rifle is not very complicated I have videos showing all the ins and outs of the rifle. Unregulated only running at 70bar you can try it but you will hear your rifle will sound as if it is choking, it won't be a nice crisp shot cycle. Let me know how it works out for you
