Genuinely first class review. 7 years after the fact, my only criticism is that the reviewer didn't realize that abs would quickly become near-universal, obviating the need to learn how to deal with lock up. The CBR is no nighthawk, though -- the immortal Model T of road bikes and the best grocery-getter of all time.
Antiquated old men are the only people who think you need to learn without abs to properly learn how to brake. Complete BS and ABS should be standard but its not. The amount of situations ABS could help you avoid an accident are endless. If you are only street riding and think your better off without ABS your misguided.
I've got 11 bikes in my garage and only 1 has abs so it's a great skill to know how to use your brakes properly. I agree abs is beneficial but riding intelligently is way more important. I'd say safety gear is even more important than abs.
@@geraldburmeister9637 You learn properly to break with abs. Not having abs is not advantagous and does not lead to conducive learning over an abs model. Riding intelligently is of utmost importance thus why having abs is the ideal choice. ABS is literally just more saftey gear. Most modern adv bikes can turn of rear abs for off road.
