    @ylism No problem! Just so you know that's the highway mph, a combination of highway and back roads is the same but subtract about 10 - 20 from both.

    I'm a new rider and recently stopped by my areas Honda dealer to look at this bike...it is very sleek, comfortable, and the price is great for a new ride 250 cc or otherwise. I am passionate about bikes and will use it for commuting everywhere as often as possible...rain, light snow etc...I already know I will be made fun of for being a safe rider and owning a 250 and I honestly do not care. Anyone that rips on someone else for being safe has some major issues within themselves.Good day everyone

    I'm a beginner I just bought one today. I'm having trouble with finding the friction zone whilst trying to keep it from stalling. The way I'm doing it is I hold the clutch and slight twist of the throttle then slowly release the clutch but I panic as the bike isn't moving or the friction zone hasn't grabbed yet so I'm thinking it's going to stall any second now so I give it more throttle. The engine revs like mad and I release the clutch some more but then I stall. So embarrassed at the lights.

    very good review! Great long footage of a rider riding the bike and vast information. It would be even better if you would specify some numbers for example as top speed, hp, mpg. But overall a very good review

    You'll definitely feel the drop in power, but it won't have any effect on your practical usage of it. This bike is my only transportation, and I can vouch that it works perfectly for commuting. You won't have *any* trouble getting it well over 80mph, and even this little beauty can out-accelerate most cars without any real effort.

    I do a lot of work in the city as a bar tender with an agency and as such has to go to a different place just about every shift. I do have to take some gear and a suit with me. Is getting this bike worth it or should I look into a scooter with more storage? I just feel that all the protective gear, boots, dragon jeans, jacket and helmut would just be too much stuff to take into a venue and hope no one steals it.

    I'm having dificulty maneuverring at low speeds, the bike is big and heavy (around 200 kg), also I rarely use its full potential, traffic filtering is most of my commute and 98 hp is overkill. And yes, it's fast to, I can break the law in first gear.

    Question to seasoned riders. im new to bikes and plan on taking my course in the coming weeks...looking to buy a motorcycle whenever funds are available only problem is not sure what to look for. I kno a 600 might be a little too much power for a younger rider but i fear the 250 is too small for me, size wise. im 6 ft and i wanna get a bike that size appropriate for me. plz respond back

  • @cheezgrated
    @cheezgrated 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @man101610 There is no minimum height. But if it's your first bike, you can have the seat shaved down or the suspension slightly lowered if you want the confidence boost from having a foot firmly planted on the ground. You could put frame sliders on there to protect the fairings or levers in case you do drop the bike. But as a shorty rider, you will have to be aware of where you are putting your foot down. Just can't be lazy. :)

    @027Erik It's a great first bike, budget sportbike or capable commuter bike. But if you tend to ride with your friends who have faster bikes, you may want to consider something a bit more powerful; you can also let them ride ahead and catch up later.

    @mikemsaggus the rr is a racing bike, and as far as i know it is not made anymore. Now the r on the other hand, is a beginners/town commuter bike, which is very low maintenance 8,000 miles every oil change, and 16,000 miles for a valve check, im sure your rr will not say go 16,000 miles every valve check, plus the rr is a 4 cyl so it is 4 times the work. Either way maintenance isnt going to be fun for your rr, mechanic, or home work.

    Hi. I live in Australia and i'm 6ft, 5inch and 187 pound (85kg). The bike is very comfortable for me to ride but I did have to lower the gear pedal a little 1st. My legs fit snuggly into the grooves unlike the Ninja where my legs stick out around the fuel tank. I am SO happy I bought my CBR 2 weeks ago and have had no regrets. You'll love it.

    When i first bought my ninj 250r i never stalled it. Go to a emty place and practice. If you let go of the clutch slightly, you wil realise the bike moves by its self. All u have to do then is give it abit of throttle and let go of the clutch completely and the bike will move. It wil take practice til your flawless but its very easy and traffic lights is not good spot to learn, because u keep thinking whats around you and whos looking at you. Instead of focusing on what your doing.

    @gow913 I'm 6'1" and the ninja250 fits me perfectly. I would recommend that you buy a used 250 for your first year or so because you will learn much more, more quickly than if you got a 600 as your first bike. Once your happy with your skill, you can sell it for what you got it for and get your bigger bike. BUT keep in mind that a 250 can beat out around 90% of the cars on the road and it's also funner to ride a slower bike fast than it is to ride a fast (and extremely heavy) bike slow. And you

  • @cheezgrated
    @cheezgrated 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @blackstar2008 It's easy to ride motorcycles at speed, but hard to ride them slowly because the bike feels unstable. But it's something you can get better at.
    Try taking it to a parking lot and practicing your clutch friction zone. Once you're happy with starting and stopping smoothly, start adding in low speed turns. And then U-turns and progressively tighter circles. It will increase your confidence, and make your motorcycle feel less big and heavy. Be in control of your bike. :)

    The CBR250r is just perfect for what you want buddy.
    You can have as much fun on a small bike as you
    would have on a bigger one.
    Anyone who says otherwise should get their asses
    on the tracks that's the place for you to push limits
    and get wiped out, apart of that riding has to be a joy.

    It's about time Honda brought out a CBR 250 but why does the styling mimic the VFR1200?
    If anything it should look like a scaled down CBR 600 RR or Fireblade. And Honda, WHAT'S WITH THE HEADLIGHT SHAPED LIKE UNDERPANTS?

  • @cheezgrated
    @cheezgrated 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Make sure the clutch lever free play is adjusted too. There should be between 10-20 mm of wiggle at the end of the lever. There should be pictures in the manual. You just need a screwdriver and a light tap to loosen the lock collar.
    A bike with no free play or too much free play will be hard to clutch smoothly! Not something you want to fight with while learning. :)

    @1000miles2paradise How tall are you exactly? Some tall guys have said they feel comfortable while others say they do not on this bike, your best bet would be to go into a dealership and sit on the bike and determine the comfort value for yourself.
    I sat on my friend's CBF125 and felt comfortable on that, I checked out the dimensions of that bike and this and they aren't too different so for me this should be okay, oh and I am 6ft 1.

    @JoshW23 If you're absolutely new to riding, I would suggest getting a 250 first to get a feel of how a 600 or higher CC would be. 250s are more forgiving if you're new and make mistakes. It's quite difficult if you start with a 600. You could always move up to a 600cc when you're ready. :D

    @MrDarrinWarren The CRF 150RB is a racing bike, which means it has a lightweight piston, and flywheel, plus a bigger than streetbike rear sprocket. But the bad part is you have to rebuild the engine every 15 hours of racing, and thanks to its bigger sprocket, the top speed is reduced. Now none of these things are realistic for a 250 street bike, unless it is a real racing bike.so its no wonder your dirtbike will beat the streetbike.
