I've had big bikes my whole life, im now 58 years old and just got into small cc bikes and im having more fun than i have had in many years, they are cheap, easy to work on, light, nimble and great on gas, not to mention the parts are affordable, for me it just makes sense 👍.
Great, reliable, easy to ride bike! Nobody needs a 600 or 1000 unless they want to lay it down and possibly die. I'll never go above a 300. Don't need to go 190 mph, ever. 🤷🏼♂️😬
Bout to buy a 2011, its a beater, needs fairings etc, but for $1600 it seems like a good beginner bike. I just need to check the frame and give it a test drive... wish me luck.
The only problem with these bikes is that they're bit cramped after the first hour of a long ride but performance-wise what more do you want? It'll cruise at 75/80. That's all you can legally do in most countries. They're great looking bikes too. Street fighter styling, not for me. Sorry.
I bought my first one last year and it's a 2012 cbr 250r. I love it with the black windscreen and fender eliminator kit. HID headlight conversion. Exhaust with silencer removed (basically straight pipe with full exhaust) It's such a good machine!! And i'm lightweight so it still pulls after 70mph XD I think the top speed is like 93?
@@wsmith9716 what colour scheme is yours? Mines the 2013 tricolour red white and blue with a black screen. Delkevic exhaust system with no baffle and an r&g tail tidy
Grats man, hope you've been enjoying it. I'm buying a cbr250 this week myself. Needs some fairings but it's only $1600 with 4k miles... should be good to get my feet wet, ride safe out there
I've ridden a 200 dual sport and it had kick my 750 (500lbs) doesn't. It could pop wheelies and stoppies.. WHY are small bike being classified as beginners bikes??
@@Zbakenmcak Yeah it can be a bit frustrating. I tend to downshift when coming to a stop as the gears on my bike sometimes get stuck if I try to go from 5th to 1st whilst stopped.
I’m not English so I’ll tell you in km : I did 600km of highway in one trip (to bring it up to my house cause I bought it from far), 120-130km/h all the way and it’s pretty comfortable, we’re not like a 125 being at 9000RPM all the time, it’s ok doing highway with it
I have one too. I grin from ear to ear when going around corners. I'm only an L-Plater (Australia, first step to full licence) and I can scrape my massive size 13s on a left hander

Hi guys . I m a newbie . I m looking to buy a cbr250 . I do 10 miles comutte to work and back everyday. Is this a good bike for me? Please advise . Thanks
I have a 95 Nighthawk 750, weighs 500lbs, I started on it, dumped it a few times, had it for a year now. I couldn't imagine taking more than a couple seconds to get to speed. I was shopping around for something new with fuel injection, maybe a ninja 400, but seeing this I don't think I'll go to something smaller. It's not about feeling like I'm going fast, it's about going the speed limit and not spending 30 seconds getting there.
No it's not. It's heavier, it's mucher older style/tech, it's only slightly more powerful, it revs a lot lower, most importantly of all it has worst power to weight ratio. The only thing going for it, is that its more comfortable for daily riding espeically if your highwaying, and it has larger tyres.
@@cagednm69 i had the 2018 500R just after a cbr125r 2016. I hated it and sold it only a year after. The position is not sport at all compared to the 125. So I decided to search a 250R (just like the 125 but a little bigger) and I’m having so much fun with it ! The position, the engine way better (smooth and high RPM compared to the 500 that goes only like 8000rpm 😒) so I don’t regret, the 250 is faaar better than 500 if you want a fun bike
The classic Ninja 250 was and still is a great bike. And it can be bought dirt cheap. Plus, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and that old Ninja looks better to me. P.S. The classic Ninja 250 is actually faster than the CBR250. It'll hit 60 in the mid 7s, where the CBR does it around 10.
3WaysToPlay lol. nice joke. the 2011 cbr250r did 0-100kph(60mph) in 8.3 seconds according to gps devices.. the old Ninja 250 did it in 8 seconds. The cbr300r which is this bike but 286cc does the same in 6.5 seconds
cagednm69 that may be true, but he said the CBR250 was more powerful and implied it was superior. Now, I haven't ridden it, but it really doesn't seem significantly better. I like the nice 2 cylinder and the more robust look of the Ninja. CBR just doesn't seem like as serious of a machine.

Leave plenty of space. I don’t use front brake much while actually in the road. Actively plan ahead. I have this bike in this video and my back brakes will lock up if pressed hard enough. Bikes don’t slow as fast as cars
Downshift while applying both front and rear brakes.Your supposed to use both brakes at all times to get used to it just in case you need to stop fast. That's actually a thing using both brakes.Don't rely on just rear brakes that's just dumb.
I had a CBR125R that I loved, then I had a CBR500R (on my profile picture) and you know what ? I prefered a lot more the 125 ! The position, the high RPM compared to only 8000. The 500 is just a roadster, the position is not sport at all, it’s perfect for long roads/highway at a stabilized speed, it’s comfortable. But the pleasure… nothing, no pleasure with this bike, ok it’s a bit powerful, but it’s… empty, I don’t know how to say in English but it brings no emotion. And the 2 cylinders make it so annoying at low speed when you’re not in the good gear. I decided to take a 250 (because it was closer to my ancient 125 that I loved) and now I’m reviving, really, it’s light, powerful (not as the 500 but brings SENSATIONS !!) I don’t regret my choice it’s by far the best motorcycle for daily driving and having fun with the same bike
