@@SvartWolf if you dive into dynamax/gigantamax lore, ain't the giant mon thingy a sort of illusion/projection and the actual mon is within it, same size as always?
To be fair I would be really confused too. He's not really wondering how it was stolen, that's not what happened. What happened was, Lopunny gave Zygarde Assault Vest, using Switcheroo, preventing him from using Haze to remove stat buffs. So what broke him was the fact that Lopunny was holding Assault Vest, and used Switcheroo. Assault Vest prevents non-damage moves, so how could Lopunny use Switcheroo? To other new players like me - Lopunny has Klutz, which disables the effects of held items
The thing is, lopunny and other klutz mon switcheroo cheese has been a thing for a longgggg time, so it doesn't make sense as to how they didn't know that
Not only that, he ANNOUNCED haze as if there was nothing that could be done about it. He could have just opened himself up to a regular Taunt, but nah, he got Switcheroo'd and permanently locked out of status.
one thing I really love about these kind of teams is that each pokémon has a role. it's like an orchestra, the build falls apart if every single member isn't there
If the monster is actively dodging, and a single step or wing flap can take it a body's width away, it makes sense enough. Big target, but big movement.
That one guy kinda had a point with how he thought Dynamax should negate evasion Logically, it would be pretty difficult to miss a large target but this is pokemon so fuck logic
Well clefairy used minimize a lot so she is like a tiny marble, then when she baton pass to sparcey, he is the same size and when he dynamax, he probably got to normal size... soo i guess it still makes sense
I was trying to figure out the reason for the lopunny... Would you mind quickly explaining it to someone wanting to get in to the more tactical pokemon fighting (not just using behemoth blast over and over haha)?
@@123JFree123 okay I just learned this from another comment. Lopunny has an ability called Klutz which disables the ability of held items. So when lopunny used switcheroo and got the assault vest from zygarde, he couldn’t do haze i guess
@@BravePomPom Yeah you're right. Klutz disables the effect of the user's held item, and since the Assault Vest prevents the use of status moves, it's a relatively good way to shut down setup mons and prevent haze and stuff. Then again Taunt on a fast Pokémon also works, but that only shuts down a Pokémon for a short amount of time.
@@BravePomPom You are right. Klutz disables the effects of held itens, like choice scarf that can't Lock in 1 move. With Switcheroo, can give assault vest to oponent and Trick him.

Tbh, I’m surprised it doesn’t. Just the idea that you can somehow dodge or miss with a literal titan of a Mon is just stupid. Balance-wise it’s also kind messed up.
I'm 28 and got Pokémon Yellow when I turned 7 with my first gameboy... never realized how insane Subtitute can be when utilized properly with buffs. Holy crap.
I assumed, very correctly, that the clefable had unaware. I use an unaware clefable as well, it's really good for baton pass teams. The item can be particular, but personally I use a lum berry as I'm very often attempted countered by hypnosis, toxic, or will-o-wisp. EDIT: also, for those of you wondering, Lopunny has klutz, which negates item effects.
I love how simple it is to just keep stacking buffs untill basically every member of your party becomes unstoppable. Just goes to show these games do require some amount of strategy beyond spamming powerful pokemon
baton pass is potentially one of the most brainless, easily executable strategies, hence its banning outside of ubers. it was very uncounterable, beatable practically only with phasing but magic bounce/ingrain stopped that anyway. it was stupidly oppressive to the point smogon tried to warp the rules around it twice before outright banning it. the strategy in pokemon lies in team building to face to the meta or predictions, double switching, etc.
@@Asch_Ente not sure if "brainless" is the right word to describe it A smart player can beat a brainless baton pass user But if the baton pass trainer is smart.... then it becomes a major problem.. And I think that's the big issue with baton pass BP teams have multiple weaknesses But with careful smart play They can play around or entirety negate their weaknesses
@@camoking3609 its more that *full* baton pass is the issue. One pokemon with baton pass is fair, but an entire team built around it is extremely difficult to stop.

I thought the strongest Pokemon of all time was an adamant nature, 31 attack IV, 252 attack EV Shuckle after using power trick, and getting plus 6 attack, and getting a 5 turn Roll out!
Klutz is amazing for swapping items that lock down things! Like locking into one move or locking out set up moves. I’ve seen tons of struggle teams with choice specs where they switcharoo it and use disable causing the opponent to struggle to death with an added block to keep them in. It’s wild!
Not only did the first dude let you cook, he let you open up a whole restaurant, then let you turn that restaurant into a chain franchise, then let you sell the restaurant chain so you can purchase a different chain of restaurants that specializes in letting you cook.
"How did you switcheroo assault vest" "But it stopped me using rest, haze or glare" Yes, those are all status moves, as is switcheroo. Now, maybe the pokemon has some sort of ability.... Ah yes, klutz. Prevents the effect of held items. Like the status move blocking of assault vest.
Guy says wut r u doin proceeds to use stealth rocks twice on mega diance Edit:guy also doesnt know about klutz is that wut its called idk but it makes item effects not work

To anyone confused about how Lopunny was able to give him the Assault Vest, I think I figured it out. Lopunny's ability Klutz makes it to where the item you have has no effect. So that mean that if you have a Klutz pokemon with Assault Vest, than you can choose moves that aren't attack moves. Hence why they were able to switcheroo the vest in the first place.
When did using evasion boosts in battle become okay/fair? I haven't played since Moon and I only did one play through, so have no idea if it was gen 7 or 8.

So what broke him was the fact that Lopunny was holding Assault Vest, and used Switcheroo. Assault Vest prevents non-damage moves, so how could Lopunny use Switcheroo?
To other new players like me - Lopunny has Klutz, which disables the effects of held items
The thing is, lopunny and other klutz mon switcheroo cheese has been a thing for a longgggg time, so it doesn't make sense as to how they didn't know that
@@AnnauraK Thanks for the explanation!!
@@thesoulknight8377 most people forget what abilities like klutz do as they are rarely used and only ever in specific cheese circumstances
Lol so he had haze the entire time but sat there with Chansey and Zamazenta like that was a good idea getting his stealth rocks reflected back at him.
Not only that, he ANNOUNCED haze as if there was nothing that could be done about it. He could have just opened himself up to a regular Taunt, but nah, he got Switcheroo'd and permanently locked out of status.
one thing I really love about these kind of teams is that each pokémon has a role. it's like an orchestra, the build falls apart if every single member isn't there
Magic bounce: exists
This guy: I'm gonna pretend I didnt see that
*proceeds to repeat last move*
that assault vest switch has to be the smartest thing i’ve ever seen
That Lopunny "Klutz/Assault Vest/Switcheroo" combo felt like a dramatic plot twist in a move.
I was thinking of the uno reverse
Hey, at least that last guy was a man of culture, sorta. Instead of raging, he was like "oh, you had the same idea. Well played"
The last guy had a point, can you imagine a pokemon the size of a building evading a giant fireball?
If the monster is actively dodging, and a single step or wing flap can take it a body's width away, it makes sense enough.
Big target, but big movement.
Old kaiju movies and the whole ultraman series in a nutshell
Last dude was chill tho lol
That one guy kinda had a point with how he thought Dynamax should negate evasion
Logically, it would be pretty difficult to miss a large target
but this is pokemon so fuck logic
I can capture God inside of a tiny red bouncy ball
Logic and pokemon don't mix
Well clefairy used minimize a lot so she is like a tiny marble, then when she baton pass to sparcey, he is the same size and when he dynamax, he probably got to normal size... soo i guess it still makes sense
Logically grooving shouldn't make you stronger than some gods that exist but swords and quiver dance exist anyways
Just like it’d be difficult to miss a small target with a big attack. But apparently it don’t work vice versa lol
Love how they didn't just telegraph what they're gonna do next; they just straight up told you.
It was like watching villains in shows.
Villain: explains plan
Hero: uses that to shut them down
Villain: shocked pikachu face :O
I love how he threw stealth rocks into magic bounce, then proceeded to attempt it a total of 4 times in the same match.
To be fair, it took me a good while to realize he had a klutz lopunny
@@BravePomPom awesome!! Thanks so much! The gigabrain on some of these plays is just so cool haha
@@BravePomPom You are right. Klutz disables the effects of held itens, like choice scarf that can't Lock in 1 move. With Switcheroo, can give assault vest to oponent and Trick him.
Like how my guy is sitting here like "i'll just go to +6 Lel" like there's not a very common stored power user about to ohko every mon in front of him.
Wondering why did he think he could tank through stored power/psyshock latias even if that wasn't his set.
"I'll gladly go to plus 6"
Why yes so will he...only he has 4 other stat boosts... and baton pass
As wise man once said, "you have no power here"
With a dunsparce no less. Dude just asked to be swept
I just want to say; I have no clue what is going on with the mechanics of this game, but watching you hand people their collective asses again and again has me subscribed and watching all your content. Tyvm for the entertainment.
I'm sure you have a better grasp on the mechanics than these salt mines.
In resume: Several stat buffs + Strategy > Uga Buga big legendary go brrrrrrrr

Might be hard to breed, find the mons and whatnot
8:50 No, no, he has a point
honestly, yeah. its kind dumb it doesn't.
the guy just wen "I am fucked but that shit do be OP"
Tbh, I’m surprised it doesn’t. Just the idea that you can somehow dodge or miss with a literal titan of a Mon is just stupid. Balance-wise it’s also kind messed up.
Its big but its actually only an afterimage after evasion kicks in
Been saying this for some long after my a win was snatched away due to missing a maxed mon
"what are you even doing"
and then setting Stealth Rocks twice against magic bouncer

Yeah to be fair I did deserve that
Yeah
Togekiss but again*
That one guy did kind of have a point about the evasion and dynamax thing lmao
casual “person who thinks people need a zacian on their team to win” moment
casual "being a skilled player with a strategy = sad cringe" moment
Zacian is a good mon but definitely has a counter
It's not Gen. 1 Mewtwo.
"I'm gonna haze and end this" gets dropped on his head by the assault vest switcheroo "wot"
Im gonna point out that the guy only noticed the assault vest when he got switcheroo'd but not the times he used cosmic power
Wait, but aren’t held items not shown in game?
Yeah! I now found out lol.
But like, why would he give it Run Away then?
I assumed, very correctly, that the clefable had unaware. I use an unaware clefable as well, it's really good for baton pass teams. The item can be particular, but personally I use a lum berry as I'm very often attempted countered by hypnosis, toxic, or will-o-wisp.
EDIT: also, for those of you wondering, Lopunny has klutz, which negates item effects.
ngl the Wario “doh I missed” gets me rolling every single time
I love how simple it is to just keep stacking buffs untill basically every member of your party becomes unstoppable.
@@Asch_Ente not sure if "brainless" is the right word to describe it
A smart player can beat a brainless baton pass user
But if the baton pass trainer is smart.... then it becomes a major problem..
And I think that's the big issue with baton pass
BP teams have multiple weaknesses
But with careful smart play
They can play around or entirety negate their weaknesses
@@camoking3609 its more that *full* baton pass is the issue. One pokemon with baton pass is fair, but an entire team built around it is extremely difficult to stop.
@@Asch_Ente wouldn’t unaware negate the bonuses that get transferred from baton pass?
@@Asch_Ente There's also Clear Smog which never misses, and Haze which ignores substitutes. If you think outside the meta you can find many options to counter baton pass.

Yes, just the idea, nothing more. This dude buffed his pokemon like he's playing shin megami tensei while you just stand there with nothing.
*Jirachi used Iron Head*
I think he meant the flinch lock, since a lot of his team would have had Serene Grace to increase the likelihood of flinches from Iron Head and Headbutt, he just couldn't do much with it, being slower.

Can you actually use switcheroo with assault vest? Never knew that. That guy was salty af though. 3x Evasion and he calls you lucky lmao
It was due to an ability called Klutz. It negates the effects of held items. So, that's why Lopunny was able to Switcheroo it.
@@VenkataB123 Thanks for explaining that to me. Didn't know about that ability.
@@dayko. No problem at all!! 👍🙂
@@dayko. it’s kinda like a massive part of a good baton pass team. You need a way to lock down haze users for an extended period of time and assault vest trick/switcharoo is permanent.
@@ultimaterecoil1136 Yep. Its only use over the normal way is that you don't have to keep switching in your Taunter.
Happy the last guy saw what you were doing, let you have your fun, and even quipped in good conversation while letting their team get swept by a dunsparce.
That guy with the two togekisses deserved so much more than to be ruthlessly slaughtered lmao
As someone who's favorite pokemon is Dunsparce, I'm very happy to see a Dunsparce sweep
dunsparce supremacy
Have you ever played Pokemon Uranium?
Dunsparce has OP evolution
Temp6t: does an exhaustive power boost set up for near 20 turns, meticulously switching and passing stat changes while evading damage in order to create a situation where it would be hard not to win.
Naga: brings a team of five legendaries and only uses damaging moves
Also Naga: I’m losing, must be hacks.
Only time he did say that was when a loopbunny switch o ru his assult vest. And if you didn’t know how its ability worked and a lot of people Don’t
It disables items of the field allowing switch o ru to work

Dunsparce is the strongest mon of all time
As a dunsparce lover i can approve this fact

It’s honestly a poor strategy that won’t work against decent opponents
"only cowards need to use brains because they use it to flee, fighting is superior because you actually win"
You found an actual use for klutz, insane
Also useful to swap over a Choice item! Lock down an opposing mon to one move per switch-in.
Klutz is amazing for swapping items that lock down things! Like locking into one move or locking out set up moves. I’ve seen tons of struggle teams with choice specs where they switcharoo it and use disable causing the opponent to struggle to death with an added block to keep them in. It’s wild!
It’s not exactly new, but this is the first time I’ve seen it on this channel
Not only did the first dude let you cook, he let you open up a whole restaurant, then let you turn that restaurant into a chain franchise, then let you sell the restaurant chain so you can purchase a different chain of restaurants that specializes in letting you cook.

Ah yes, klutz. Prevents the effect of held items. Like the status move blocking of assault vest.

Mans so stuck in ubers he didn't know about Unaware and Klutz, at least he took quite the tumble back to Earth
Full marks, well done.
