*Never have I seen so many people get mad at someone for actually being smart with how they play, like you almost NEVER see someone go “Oh damn nice move bro”*
If sportsmanship was their forte they would play chess, not Showdown. though you point at a terrible plague of any competitive game. when people should be mad at themselves for not knowing, researching or reading, they get mad at you for playing what is an unknown to their calculations.
tbf most of the kids in Temp's videos use full legendary teams with nothing but coverage one-shots, like they played through the main game and went "Wow, I'm so good at this game, I one-shot everything with my Primal Kyogre and Groudon!! No one can beat my strats!!" and then battled against 500 people in UBER tier doing the exact same thing and won a few like "ok, so this IS exactly how Pokemon is played, I'm pretty good!!"

It's also pretty easy to predict and properly pivot against when you know your opponent has one in the back. This dude clearly just did not know what he was doing.
actually- just to correct something that's been bothering me for over a year: Z-Hypnosis CAN miss (along side other status moves that are powered up) however, damaging Z-moves skip that accuracy check and therefore never miss
It depends on what you think cheating is. Some of his builds won’t be possible in the regular games. Like certain Pokémon having specific natures that arnt available in canon games. But in showdown, you are free to edit natures, EVs and IVs and move sets to your pleasure. So instead of using a GameShark to bring a nature from a gba into the current Pokémon gen game, you just click-click and people get mad cuz they are trained in normal strategy of the canon games, not showdown strategy
I like when people go from accusing you of cheating, to an argument more about why you picked a specific Pokémon that can counter their entire team 😂 like I would take that as a glaring hole in my strategy instead of being upset you countered my team lol.
I love how when Zoroark was told to use Low Kick on a dynamaxed Mon he just shook his head and said "Nah man I ain't losing my legs" then proceeded to die anyway

this really shows that a lot of people on showdown don't even know the word "strategy" I mean, if you see a lv1 pokemon or a Zoroark you should be SUSPICIOUS of it
"Oh my God, it's _you._ The one who single-handedly _ruined_ this game with teams like _that."_ I mean, is it a _bad_ thing that you can win a battle _without_ needing to pack your team full of pokemon that the lore treats as _basically gods?_ From my layman's perspective, it seems like it would be a _good_ thing that someone with a team full of "baby" pokemon can go toe-to-toe with teams of legendaries as long as he understands what his "babies" can do together (and has just a little sprinkling of luck). Wouldn't a game where it was basically accepted that "graduating" into the high tiers means building teams from the same small handful of god-mons as everyone else be _less_ interesting to play and master, not _more?_

I'm guessing the player was someone new to pokemon, they mentioned they came to showdown after bdsp, a game that doesn't feature zoroark in any possible way. And probably doesn't know a lot about pokemon to begin with. im pretty certain the teams he used featured pokemon from the first four generations and none from gen 5, meaning he's likely an older fan who got out of touch at that point and came back in at the remake to a gen he was familiar with.

If you’re wondering why at 9:56 the Pikachu was able to use both Max Quake and Max Hailstorm, it does in fact have Hidden Power Ice. But it also has Mud Slap, which I would argue is even more random than Hidden Power Ground, considering it can only learn the move via Tutor in Gen 4. I assume Primal Groundon is the sole reason it has Mud Slap over Surf.
It's probably dig because that has a higher power without the 2-turn cost (because of dynamax) EDIT: I forgot dig was physical vs. special mud slap. Even though its half as powerful as dig with the boost, P-Groudon's special defense is like 70 less than its regular so I can see why temp6t would run it. my bad!
@@mykeyboardismelting6856 just messed around in the calcs for a bit, it’s 100% Mud Slap. No matter what, Pikachu would never even come close to killing Primal Groundon with D-Max Dig given the conditions of the battle, but it’s almost always an OHKO with the conditions of the battle using Mud Slap, so long as the Pikachu is Holding the Light Ball and is Modest. One thing I tested is Max Special Defence positive boost, which is the only way Groudon could survive. It’s guaranteed to be Hidden Power Ice due to the complete absence of a standard Ice Type Move in Pikachu’s moveset. Funnily enough, Primal Groundon has the same speed as Pikachu, so as unlikely as it is, it could have speed tied were it maxed, as Pikachu needs to be Modest for the OHKOs to be almost Guaranteed.

I'm sure some do, but these don't do for the spicy salty content, y'know?
tbf most of the kids in Temp's videos use full legendary teams with nothing but coverage one-shots, like they played through the main game and went "Wow, I'm so good at this game, I one-shot everything with my Primal Kyogre and Groudon!! No one can beat my strats!!" and then battled against 500 people in UBER tier doing the exact same thing and won a few like "ok, so this IS exactly how Pokemon is played, I'm pretty good!!"

Yep and they'll lose to same cheese strats over an over rather than just change one move on one of six mons to prevent it in future lol but hey it's usually just a test team apparently anyway so who cares but still gonna get mad anyway lol these kids crazy
The funny bit was that the sucker was complaining about Zoroark being OP while he had a freaking Lugia and a Groudon on his team :😜 but yeah... guess it is a common trait for these legendary spamming scrubs to be in denial
The funny thing is in all meta games zoroark has been in, it’s been terrible 😭
I honestly believe that guy was like new to pokemon and didn’t know actual competitive strats. He acts like he’s never seen zoroark before and didn’t know illusion, then said he “wanted to try this game after shining pearl” which makes me think he had a literal skill issue

It's probably dig because that has a higher power without the 2-turn cost (because of dynamax)
EDIT: I forgot dig was physical vs. special mud slap.

I'm old. Annoying kids that reinforce why I don't have kids constitute "twerps" to me.
Once had someone yell at me in gen 8 free for all random for saying glhf I beat him but still
The fact people get *salty* at random rng god battles..sometimes I wonder what theif thought process is, it's random..so how can someone cheat? Lolol
To quote Malcolm Reynolds, "They weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling."
I love how the guy at 8:30ish was complaining about the hypnosis luck when the sleep didn’t even matter lmao
The squeaky sound used for the substitute literally wakes my dog up/gets his attention everytime, entertainment for both of us
Absolutely love the people who say all these strats are "so dumb" when all they do is slap legendaries in a team and push buttons 😂😂
i know, gotta remember most of them are just kids xD
I like that for most of the sturdy strats people just have to have one multi strike move but instead fill their teams with legendaries and high damage one hit moves
28:51-I swear Ho-Oh getting pummeled so bad that all he can do is mald three times in a row is so viscerally hilarious. Absolutely top shelf schadenfreude.
I have been binging this over and over for the last couple of nights, it's that good.
My favorite parts of this(in no particular order):
1. King's Rock Beat Up on Ho-Oh (this has me laughing so hard every time).
2. Magearna stealing Yveltal's HP.
3 Mia locking one of the toxic people from talking.
4. "You're using obviously OP Pokemon."
5. "Zoroark is the new definition of not fun."
6. The "There is no speed tie" conversation.
7. "I wouldn't call this a gg. You beat me because I was caught off guard."
8. "Hidden Power Ground Pikachu? That is so random and stupid." *pulls out Zygarde* "Because now you can't kill this."
9. "Those stat boosts are what make the move that strong. This has to be a bug."
10. "You beat me with luck? I want to show you how it would go without luck."
11. "You added Gengar specifically for my Level. One. Rattata."
If I see a level 1 team, I don't laugh, I get concerned cause I know some shit is about to go down
The one thing that I will always enjoy from *ANY* PvP game is being good with anything Non-Meta and sweeping Meta users. Witnessing the salt or in the extremely rare case, a genuine ggs from the opponent will always put a smile on my face.
