I actually kept Odor Sleuth on my Emboar just for dealing with Ghost/Darks when I was playing B/W. They get a bit squishy once that Ghost immunity is removed.

Today I met two guys who wished me luck and I actualy even had a good talk with them about why I use ice type only team and they suported me that's wholsome in my opinion
saying "gg" at the end of every battle is not "wholesome" and it's what 99.99% of showdown players do

This one actually didnt put a good taste in my mouth. To me the "2 pokemon gg I guess" seemed almost confused to me than anything, and just because someone doesnt necessarily consider something a 'good game' doesnt make them toxic.
Then again, I'm someone who never really gets toxic over a game and like to assume the best for others- but I also dont think one should assume the worst either.

Sturdy Shedinja, some people aren't aware how nearly broken it is. Shedinja only ever has 1 HP (its original gimmick was it's immune to most types, but murdered by super effective types), and Sturdy doesn't allow you to be KO'd with a move at full HP, which Shedinja can only be at full HP or 0. This means that it's immortal no matter how many times you punch it (also why Endeavor sends the opponent to 1 HP; equal to the user's HP). The only way to take it out is weather, hazards, burn, poison, trap moves (like Fire Spin), or Rough Skin. Anything with indirect damage. I do hope pikarachu knows better now.

My thoughts on each of these salty players:
10. If you don't want to lose to a gimmick, get a better team.
9. Playing smart isn't cheating.
8. Never say gg early...and find better ways to cripple Metagross if you don't want to lose to it.
7. That actually IS how the ability works. And it's why status, damaging items, damaging abilities, and weather are handy.
6. In their defense, I sometimes forget ghost resists bug too...the rest of it is just being immature.
5. ...I mean that did look really frustrating, but that reaction was just terrible.
4. Dude, it's a game. Chill.

2. So you're upset that your mono team that doesn't even have great synergy is losing to a well-balanced team of legendaries and so you decided to get racist about it? ...yeah the situation speaks for itself.

It's pretty legit. It's the major reason I don't do competitive stuff with Pokemon, because the Showdown, and other online Pokemon Battle communities, are filled with some of the most toxic people I've ever seen.

A good tip is use entry hazards and/or barriers
If you catch your opponent about to use Defog, switch to Empoleon, the evasion drop will activate Defiant
Also works as a good "SIKE" against Intimidate

@@michielzandbergen6219 As long as you have full HP, the next damaging attack cannot KO you and will leave you at 1 HP (Unless the attacker has Mold Breaker). Sturdy Shedinja is nuts because Shedinja always has 1 HP, but since it counts as full HP, it'll end up simply retriggering sturdy, which means that the usual method that isn't Mold Breaker (Or the legendary variations Teravolt or Turboblaze) of multi-hitting moves fails to work on Sturdy Shedinja.
Of course, that's when the Sandstorm calls!

@@Legacy_45 I think it was hacked in this case, if I remember right there are rulesets that allow for 'Balanced Hackmons', though there are moves that allow Pokemon to be given abilities they wouldn't normally have so you could possibly set one up that way.
Barring abilities, any entry hazard, status damage or weather damage can kill a sturdy Shedinja. Well, usually. The newer items like Heavy Boots and Safety Goggles get rid of two potential issues being entry hazards and weather specifically. If you're having status issues, a Lum Berry + Recycle combo makes you immune to them.
Or just be an asshole like me and use 3 Shedinja, one for each situation.

Common theme, people think legendaries are the be all end all, and here i am trying to make my all ghost team work because i just like the type and pokemon in it lol, people need to loosen up and learn to play what they enjoy rather than what they perceive to be strongest…
I literally play as a pokefan with my favorite pokemon and then the guys with 6 gods trash talk me
I just use a diverse team of different types to have counters against anything.

Yeah, they can fight it out amongst each other. I'll be over here agonizing endlessly over whether to use Furret cause I like it more, or Gourgeist because it pretty much perfectly fills a niche the team needs and meshes decently enough with my ace, Zoroark.

Picking names from books is good i find so long as its not main stream, its quite unlikely to be taken, and as unfortunate as it sounds, not a lot of people tend to read books these days, atleast, not the younger crowd, but ahwell!
Also, gourgeist is a pretty good physical wall pokemon, i sometimes use it! Being that i like using ghost types in general!

People are like this I think in any game, even board games I've seen people take really seriously before lol. I've played MMOs and Chess online too, and people are like that whenever you're in competition with them and they get mad when you beat them. They'll accuse you of using heals, of using procs for your equipment, they'll accuse you of using an engine, hacking, whatever lol.

You literally just click a button and it has perfect IVs with a beneficial nature
Its my personal theory that people are way more stubborn in games like pokemon than in other more mechanically skill based games because losing a strategy based game makes them feel like its an insult to their intelligence rather than "he shot his gun first so that's why i died." or something to that effect.
and then when you have a game like pokemon showdown where even the excuse of "he grinded more for perfect pokemon" is taken out of the equation... you're gonna get a lot of toxicity.
Man, Shedinja guy had my benefit of the doubt in the first half. "What, he's barely salty, how did this one make the list?" And then the one-two "you're a gay hacker" and "I'd rather be angry than learn things" punch
He's playing an unwinnable match with his setup. There was a 0% chance of victory no matter how many crits he scores. There's a pretty big reason to be salty.

What about shield dust off a bug Pokemon with ability switch or similar moves? Should protect against the additional effects of moves when say giving it to a tanky Pokemon if possible

I imagine that was a young person and someone had told them, homebrew like, that the move isn't allowed.
Someone told them it isn't allowed, so you broke the rules.
Alternatively, there's a community with set rules which Showdown isn't appreciative of. They follow the honour system. Someone in that community is unaware that there exist people outside the community. This happens very often in various niches, sadly.
A third option is the "my mind made the rules and everyone should follow my rules" thing. This usually makes the "rule makers" made because nobody knows their rules.

I don't like the Eeveelutions to the simp level, but I do like Glaceon.
Just a random Glaceon stuff, but Glaceon's ability so happens to be Snow Cloak if ya wanna use Hail to enhance it's evasiveness then use Double Team to continue building it. One could take advantage of Blizzard not missing in Hail but it sorta makes it looks like it relies on the hail and Hail doesn't last too long (unless the pokemon with Hail uses an Icy Rock) an opponent might try to change the weather to take advantage of this, so to be safe Ice Beam will miss less often than Blizzard. If your about the healing, Glaceon has another ability (Hidden) Ice Body which gradually heals Glaceon. One could stack it with Leftovers, Glaceon can learn Dig to increase the time Glaceon heals from Leftovers without sustaining some damage from the foe. Glaceon can also learn Water Pulse, likely to effectively damage two out of the four of Glaceon's weaknesses (and just Pure Ice Types in general) Rock and Fire.
Never sure how well some strats will do in the intense world of competitive pokemon battles, but as someone once said "Truly skilled Trainers win with their favorites" (Johto Elite 4 Karen). Never stop liking your favorite Pokemons you guys and gals 👍

Adamant,Defiant,Kings Rock. The moves I would put on it is Liquidation, Power Trip, either Rock Slide or Earthquake, and Agility.

Hey, the people aren't that bad on showdown. It's just that temp6t mainly uploads the salty ones because those get views. I've seen a lot of very nice people on showdown, had some great experiences. It's mainly kids on the low ladder that spoil the fun. But you can also just block them so you won't have to deal with them.
@@stego7782 Yeah, there may be good peps around but seeing how good he plays makes me lose my interest to be a pokemon player. If i were to be one, i had to understand every moves, buff equipments and swap moves on each of my pokemons for good movesets which is time-consuming and tiring for me.

I think how sturdy works is if your pokemon is about to die it stays at 1 hp THEN if the pokemon with sturdy comes back to 100 hp it reactivates sturdy again-
So basically if you have it on shedinja it's invincible cause it's 100 hp is 1 hp

The #3 and #1 moments, I kinda get it when people get frustrated over a prediction gone wrong like with the body press expecting to switch out the aegislash to hydreigon and having no way to take out shedinja, but telling someone to die or go to hell is just way too far especially online I’m gonna be honest. Even if I did lose and get frustrated, I just hated being the person holding grudges. It’s normal for someone to lose their cool, It’s just embarrassing for the salty player to go overboard like that. Yes I get frustrated myself and still have the emotions getting to me when a read goes wrong and I’m doing my best to manage which is why I take breaks and be away for a few days. Amazing video by the way, some moments are funny. 😂

None of the dynamax moves are boosted by Strong Jaw and fishious rend doubles in power when you go before the target or the target switches in, which doesn’t happen when you’re dynamaxed

5:09 when max hp is 1 but the sturdy stops you from going less than 1 when going from full hp, the only way to kill it is through indirect damage or multi hits
I could be wrong, but as long as you are at full (like, well, Shedinja), I'm pretty sure Sturdy would activate on all hits.
Yeah, multi hits will not work. You straight up do need indirect damage.
