    Transmission Replacement
THIS IS NOT A "HOW TO VID". Just tips and advice on how to remove the transmission. As stated in the video, this can be done at home in your driveway or garage. I did this alone but be sure to have a helper with the heavy lifting. If you need more advice on this please email me leekautorepair@gmail.com

Leek. Did you have to re-code the transmission after replacement before driving? I’m doing this exact job right now. Thanks

Leek I am currently working on this exact car. I am trying to get the gear box differential case which is connected to the drive shaft off. The exhaust piece however is in my way to get those top bolts off. I was wondering if you could tell me how you got them out without disconnecting the Cadillac converter part of the exhaust

@@dustyrodes12 I bought a t-50 socket and cut out the t-50 part off the socket. I got it in the bolt, a 8mm will turn the t-50.

Joe Pedersen you cut the t-50 off the socket, essentially making it a t-50 bit. You put a 8mm wrench on it? Is there enough room for the bolt to clear the exhaust manifold/converter? I don't want to remove the manifold/converter as I'm afraid of breaking the rusted manifold bolts. I'm trying to figure how leek remove the PTO without pulling the exhaust manifold/Cat.

Thomas Dever I just tackled this job on my own in the garage. There is no way of getting to those bolts without disconnecting the exhaust manifold. That bracket has to come out to get to the transfer case bolts.

Dustin Montgomery that's what I thought but in the video it appears that exhaust manifold is still attached to the engine as the PTO is separated and attached to the driveshaft. In Ohio those manifold bolts are pretty rusted up and not easy to get to
