At one point you said I suck at this? WRONG - You are trying something you never did before and I commend you for trying and succeeding. I wish there were more young people like you that want to learn and save themselves loads of money. Keep up the good work and never stop learning!
I’m also working on a 2009 ford escape, but a recommendation that I’ve been told by a lot of mechanics is to always unplug the battery first before doing any type of work on the car! Other than that good job!
You did a fantastic job you obviously did your research first your a very capable young man. The first rear main seal I ever replaced was on a 1976 datsun b210 I was 17 teen years old that was a very long time ago
Thank you very much🙏🏿, amazing that you were able to do such a big job at that age and time👏🏿, a lot of the resources I had may not have been available then
question? when you replaced your transmission, did you have to take the truck down and have the computer flashed or any re-programing? or did you just reset the shift computer by grounding the car for 15 minutes?
Hi, sorry for the late response, I did the repair in spring of 2021. Nope, I didn’t have to do any reprogramming or flashing of the computer, just disconnected the battery before I started working on the car, no issues for me so far
Great job. I have a 13 transit connect 2.0. I replaced the rear main seal myself and it was very similar to your car. I did not have the seal installer tool, after driving for about a week, the leak is back. I'm wondering if the tool was absolutely necessary
Hi, thank you Sorry to hear about your installation troubles but I’m honestly not too sure if the installation tool is necessary, my part came with it and I figured I should use it😅
Hi, thank you, I found a free repair manual for the 2008 escape (close enough to the 2009)on the internet, very sketchy websites though, I can't find them at the moment. I can send the PDF if you'd like.
Hi, so unfortunately the 09 to 20012 escapes, the fuel filter is apparently integrated in the fuel tank/fuel pump. So not really serviceable unless you replace the whole thing
If you look under the rear passenger seat you should find an access port for the fuel tank. I believe it's integrated with the pump, so you'll need to replace the whole unit.
It’s integrated inside the gas tank, it’s really hard, I recommend just putting injector cleaner in your tank every time you fill up, unless it’s necessary to do now
Ooh man, that sucks. I’m not experienced enough to know how the shifter cable could be causing gear slippage. Check your transmission fluid make sure they didn’t mess with that. I would take it back them

Thank you very much 🙏🏾 I appreciate that
Wow amazing unbeliveable
Funny when you said "I suck at this". Very humble and honestly you seem to work much smarter than most of the ego maniacs on youtube. Nice work!
😅Thank you!

If you get another part and it doesn’t come with installation tool, I would add some threadlocker and torque it good
Is there a rubber half oval kind of shaped piece that sits by the starter, might even be a seal for the starter or something?
Yeah, I think I remember a rubber/foam like material
@@luenyoni6603 it’s actually the torque converter bolt cover, did you remove that at all? And if you did was there fluid behind it?
@@Swamprunner92 Hi, I didn’t replace mine, I think it was a bit torn up too, but I don’t remember it having any fluid
I’m looking at having to replace my torque converter on my 2012 Escape 3.0 FWD. Considering do it myself. How was it removing the exhaust for you?
Hi, luckily for me, in the 2.5l four cylinder you don't need to remove the exhaust to get the transmission out.
I'm not too sure about the V6 but if you have to, apply some heat and have a drill in case they break off, good luck 👍🏿
It's a really great video. How did you get all the infos to do the job.
I saw you put some instructions papers at the end of the video

do you use harbor freight torque wrench
Yeah😅
I think it works fine, nothing has come loose yet 🤞🏿
Is this the same as a 2008 Ford Escape?
It's very similar, especially if you have the 4 cylinder. I used repair manuals for the 2008 versions on this 09
How long didbit take to do that job?
About a week, I took my time with it. I’m sure it can be done a lot faster
Gracias!!??
Dealer just replaced my gear shifter cable now my car is slipping in gear

What happened to your voice @ 17:00? Hahah. Sound like you're on helium.
I sped up the video, I think 😂
Nice Job!
Thank you🙏🏾
Go Lusto😍😍👊🏾
Dude, just do the job, stop talking.
Did you get it back together and on the road?
Yep, still driving it, I use it for delivery and that repair is holding up
