I’m 51 years old and I’ve been living in Astoria Queens for 51 years so far and counting. I was born in Astoria and I will die in Astoria. That’s how much I love Astoria there’s no other place in the world that I can call home.
I’m 51 years old and I’ve been living in Astoria Queens for 51 years. All my life. Ruby’s Hobby Store is an old store. I’ve been buying model trains from there since 1991.
Those jazz musicians at the beginning were next level. Better than what you would see at a jazz club. I hope they were just warming up for Manhattan...
Great choice of restaurants to suit everyone's tastes! An interesting walk which benefitted from your local knowledge of the area. Thanks for sharing this.
Nice music performance on the subway at the start , nice restaurants along your walk 6:48 , 8:20 and many more, stores etc… 😎Thank you for sharing this relaxing walk A K🙂👍
I really enjoyed this walk. The musicians were great, and the different restaurants and had some great looking food. Good prices for many of those establishments. Cheers! ✌️l❤NY
AK,hey ! What's up? Wow ! Those musicians were so impressive! Really into Astoria ! Kind of decent neighborhood with loads of culture and history I guess
You wore the Pook hat again, so cute! 😃 The musicians in the subway performed at the right time before you left. 🎶 You covered this route on your livestream the other night, so it was nice to see the area during the day time. 😎 Thank you for sharing this informative walk and all the developments in Astoria, AK! 🤗
Love these first person view walks. Have you used the DJI Pocket 2? The video quality and image stabilization is amazing. What do you normally shoot with?
If you watch a video on you tube called INTRO TO ARCHIE BUNKERS PLACE, you will see the opening to the 80's tv show which showed steinway street in 1980
I was in New York till the 28th of March and I was shocked how often in the morning news they talk about last night shootings. I think your video is just one day before another deadly shooting in Astoria Steinway street isn’t it? We were staying in the Bronx Kingsbridge and there were two times deadly shootings I think in this period of our 8 day stay.
Please show the cross streets as you pass each corner. This is my old stopping ground and it's been years since I've been there. Alot has changed in Astoria. Can't recognise some of the streets anymore. Thanks.
I spent 10 years living in Astoria between 1998 and 2007. A blur of too much work and partying all wrapped into one. One of my favourite spots was a little dump of a bar called The Glen Oaks between 36 and 37th on 30th avenue. Didn't know if it was night or day half the time leaving the place. Gone a few years now and also the crazy mf'er Hughie that owned the place too. He died a couple of years back and Astoria all the poorer for it. Funny dude, some charcater. Good times.
When I see the old apt building I wonder what they're like inside .Have they been updated or did they stay the same . The older parts of New York with out the new modern high rise building doesn't look or seem much different then it did many years ago like 1970ies
New York is great to visit, but I could not live there due to the politics and the city management is terrible, The nice areas are clean and safe ,,New York has a wonderful selection of quality food to eat, better then most other places....I don't know if you can beat New York for all the great foods and quality, In America
I lived in Astoria for 8years in the late 90s to early Aughts, this leisurely stroll really brought me back. One thing that you neglected to mention however is that the Duane Reade on 30th and Steinway used to be the Astoria triplex, the main movie theater in town, you can still make out the marquee in their signage. Otherwise a great video!

If I visited, I'd be trying all the different types of food. I'd have to go to a hotdog stand.
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed the video!

You're welcome, it was very nice to explore Astoria again during the daytime
I love how the pink car in the building has been there for like 30 years, it's very nostalgic for me. As for pizza, it's gotta be Gaudios!
Classy subway musicians 😊
Really liked it! Reminds me of the singer Zaz. Check her out, for those who like this music. She's french. ❤
This was great. Would love a walk around Jackson Heights

ActionKid the king of new york thank you for the video.Salutation of paris in france.
Thank you! So many interesting eateries. A friend lives nearby; may meet her to grab some food on Steinway!
Hey action kid! Nice video!
Nice.Thankyou
So many Scooters! I suppose having to change gears on a big bike all the time would be annoying in a big city.
I always thought Astoria was one of the best neighborhood in Queens to spend a Sunday at
U think so?
@@schen5425 He thinks so!

Yes, there has been much change in Astoria. There are always new places opening up
Cool musicians 🎺!

Where are all the hard-boiled New Yorkers you see on TV who yell, "Hey, I'm walkin' here?!"?
When I see the old apt building I wonder what they're like inside .Have they been updated or did they stay the same . The older parts of New York with out the new modern high rise building doesn't look or seem much different then it did many years ago like 1970ies

One bloke playing guitar, another playing the trumpet, three people in the carriage on their phones, and they don't even look up. Unbelievable!
Excellent.. Greetings from Bogor - Indonesia 💗🙏
I live in Queens Glendale Ridgewood area 💕
Thank you for posting this Ken! Happy April Fools Day and greetings from The Sunshine State!
You're welcome!
A nick walk around Astoria.
It's always a nice walk in Astoria

Thank you so much for watching! I remember that movie theater, it was very cool to experience in person!
30th and Broadway? I am confused. LOL.
Bro this guy was so close from my apartment
I know you're going to pop up somewhere and surprise the hell out of us I'm having withdrawals where are you AK?
1:24 It's 30 of March 2023, and people are still COVID masked
When are you going to be back in Miami?
$4 for a smoothie is NOT a good price lol
Can you walk Clifton Hill at Niagara falls when you have a chance?
I was there not too long ago.
@@ActionKid Okay, let me check and watch it now. Thanks.
Most of those places pay protection money to the Mob.
You skipped the area that full of Middle Eastern restaurants and coffees !!!
Any bacon on that halal food truck? 😋
Show more of the shop fronts and less of the pavement. Becomes dull and boring
Uhhhh, I'm not sure what you were watching but he showed plenty.
