      All men sin and fall short of the glory of God. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross, rose again on the third day and was the final sacrifice for the sins of all men. He was fully man and fully God. He was a Jew born of the tribe of Judah. He fulfilled the scriptures written about the Messiah by the prophets. There is no way into Heaven except by Jesus, He is the truth, the life and the only way. May the Lord bless all who read this, in Jesus name Amen.

    I live in Upstate NY and not anti Semitic, but the neighbors & myself are seeking advice...
    Everyone in this working class town takes care of what little they have in the way of keeping their yards
    clean, free of trash and take personal pride in their surroundings.
    Having said that... the Hasidic community that lives here for the spring & summer, leave heaping bags of trash, old broken appliances, ripped and torn blinds in windows, and old furniture & loose trash EVERYWHERE.
    When people come to visit they can't believe such a beautiful, rural little town is treated this way.
    It's not only a horrible eyesore, it affects home sales and brings rat infestations.
    The people of the town are so worried about getting an unfair discrimination lawsuit that they don't do anything about it.
    A few years ago I wrote a polite letter on behalf of the neighborhood to no avail.
    It merely said that we welcome them, but that it is unfair to the community to be subject to rats, roaches and be forced to drive past
    what looks like a war zone to & from work.
    If there is anyone here who would possibly know how or what the best approach is; I would gratefully follow your advice.
    It's so unnecessary, depressing and is affecting home sales.
    I can't imagine that they would willfully be so selfish and that maybe they just don't notice it?
    Believe me, it's bad, really bad.
    Everyone here is super mindful of their religious views, tip toes around them so as to not make them uncomfortable and yet, they
    seem to have zero concern for how the people who live here year round feel!
    How hard is it to just send out a few of the young boys and girls & give them daily chores?
    So you don't have to work, everything free and then they look down upon US??
    It makes no sense whatsoever coming from self respecting people with the means to walk.

    • @chaim51
      @chaim51 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm going to share with you your concern is valid and you're not alone.
      People within the community have the same issue with it. It does not come from a place of we don’t care, I think the challenge is we have large families and the pressure is to control the situation can be much we have a house to keep in check and the yard falls to the bottom of the list a. And I think the best way to approach it is by respectfully approaching the person and expressing why it's bothering you. And I am almost sure they will try to be more on top of it. They normally have large families, tremendous amount of pressure, and sometimes to keep up the yard is not the first thing on their list.

    • @lahaza6515
      @lahaza6515 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@chaim51 Thank you for your kind reply.
      I understand that it's hard when you have a family and house to run, but the non hasidic households in the neighborhood not only have the same struggles, but they WORK on top of it!
      Surely you can see how that sounds?
      The working families in this neighborhood who PAY for them to be home reading the Torah all day while they work, have even more stress, yet they manage to not live in SQUALOR...
      Sorry, but that answer just dumbfounds me.
      And if having such large families renders them "too stressed" to properly get rid of their waste, and live in a civilized manner, than maybe having LESS CHILDREN...
      I'm sorry, and I know you mean't well, but they need to get off their "tokhes" and have some respect for their neighbors.
      If they don't care about self respect there's nothing anyone can do to force them, but at least have the decency to think about others.
      What makes their hands any less capable;e of doing a little work?
      I'm so sick of driving past this slum in the middle of one of the most beautiful areas in The Hudson Valley.
      How dare they take such BLATANT advantage.

    • @sunshine6522
      @sunshine6522 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lahaza6515 Believe it or not- we Hasidic Jews also work. very few people sit at home and read the Torah all day, that's a common myth.
      Not only do we work hard to support ourselves- we also pay property taxes to fund the public schools where your kids attend, while we ourselves don't use those schools.
      So while some of your points are very valid- your overall portrayal of Hasidic Jews is inaccurate, and might be what's fueling an exaggerated anger about garbage that's not even on your street, but simply an unpleasant view when you drive by one of the places where Hasidic Jews live separately.
      You might also be glad to hear that those bungalow colonies or "slums" as you call them- are growing out of style, the younger generation is increasingly buying winterized homes in new, gated developments where everything is nice, clean, and well-maintained.

    • @lahaza6515
      @lahaza6515 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ii didn't write it to offend, nor to be "exaggerative".
      I can tell you with 100% surety that it is a 5 mile, relatively quiet road in Upstate NY with little houses all along it that keep their yards free of trash, not broken down cars, and literally not one with broken appliances, broken chairs or window blinds shredded and hanging in the windows.
      You probably have a vision of me as I write this, but you would probably be wrong.
      I lived in NYC for many years before moving to this sweet, humble little town.
      There are TWO places that stand out as (sorry to use the word, but if you saw this you would not be able to think of any other that fits) "slum."
      And let me ask this question:
      if there's SUCH insult at the word "slum" then why not CHANGE IT ?
      It doesn't make sense to be offended and defensive about a word when you're LIVING IN the DEFINITION of the word!
      Anyway, your response really has me aggravated right now.
      There is a ranch house they own & a few feet across the street from it is the colony.
      And it is 100% different in looks than every other dwelling on this stretch of scenic road.
      Does it have to be? No of course not.
      Would it be a big deal to live up to the same standards of cleanliness as everyone else around them? Nope, but instead of getting off their asses they'll just give everyone a big F--k You...
      You can waste your time and take this the wrong way, but you are mistaken.
      It is not about WHO they are, because it wouldn't matter if they were Catholics from the freaking Netherlands!
      It's about how obnoxious it is be THAT disdainful of others that they don't care at all how it affects the other people's home values or health.
      People feel HOSTAGE to it.
      Because forbid anyone say anything and cause a discrimination lawsuit (which would be ridiculous, no one cares what religion someone is, they just don't want the health hazard & costs of having to fight rodents and roaches that travel & infest the neighborhoods.
      The roaches which btw come from inside their suitcases & food supply they bring from the city buildings.
      And let me fill you in on something else; EVERYONE with or without children (I have none thank you so you aren't paying for mine) have to pay the same tax.
      You say it as if you're doing US a FAVOR!
      Funny how so many men & women are strolling up & down the road all day when you say they're "working."
      I don't begrudge anyone a summer vacation, but to have the unmitigated GALL to come to a place, wreck it, treat it with SUCH TOTAL disregard & then blame it on discrimination, is just BULLS--T.
      I mean think about it; how hard is it to NOT leave old trash everywhere in the scorching heat of the summer?
      If we're going to be COMPLETELY HONEST here, people are mad because it's like coming into a place and saying "we don't care if you feel depressed when you see how we disregard this beautiful, rural upstate town, you'll live with our total lack of self respect & LIKE IT or we'll cry racism."
      THAT is NOT fair....
      But life isn't fair right?
      How HARD would it be to JUST CHANGE THIS ASPECT OF THE COMMUNITY?
      I'm livid right now having read your comment.
      People welcome you with open arms & this is what they get; "you don't like us because of our religion"
      BULLS_T.
      It's because you FORCE other people to live in filth.

    • @sunshine6522
      @sunshine6522 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lahaza6515 You just said it right there, it's ONE place along ONE street that's 5 miles long... as I said- your point is very valid, there shouldn't be any trash just laying around anywhere. but there's a thing called 'proportionality', when people move into a neighborhood and bring with them crime and drugs- that's terrible, when people come in leave trash in front of your home and all over your street- that's very bad, but when people leave trash in front of their own colony on one spot somewhere along a 5 mile road and you rave about it as if you've been invaded by aliens- that's already an exaggeration of an otherwise legitimate complaint.
      And since this exaggeration came together with some false and hurtful stereotypes about Hasidic Jews not working and leeching off other people's work- I couldn't help but wonder if perhaps such a bias and lack of knowledge could've perhaps played a role in your inflated anger...just to clarify once more - almost all Hasidic Jews work full-time and even earn a respectful living of an average $104,000 per-household annually. in fact- the majority of men spend 5 days per-week in the city working while their families are upstate during the 2 summer months.
      While everyone has to pay property taxes- other people also consume a lot of that money by sending their kids to public school, we pay into the system without taking anything back in return. I'm not saying we're doing you any favor, but if there's someone who's living at someone else's expense- then it's not us.
      I haven't mentioned discrimination even once, because I don't believe in complaining and victimhood, I simply live my life and try to quietly find a way around any obstacles. but since you keep bringing it up- it cannot be denied that there's MASSIVE discrimination going on when it comes to permits and approvals for any form of construction or renovation, I've experienced it first-hand both in the Catskills where I own a second home- and in Rockland county where I live, that certainly didn't make me feel "welcomed with open arms".
      Despite all of this- discrimination lawsuits are rare, it only happens in case of large-scale, long-term discrimination from a local government or municipality, not against individuals who complain about trash.

    As a New Yorker, I grew up in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood. My family is Muslim and they were plenty of other Muslims in the area. We all lived in peace. No one disturbed anyone. The orthodox Jews do not talk to anyone but their own kind and we respected that. I believe we all come from the same Abrahamic religions and we have never passed any judgments on them. Jewish folks are very polite folks!
    Jews and Muslims have a ton of similarities where we don’t drink alcohol, date & marriage, not eat pork, ham, eat kosher/halal, etc. (Of course not exactly the same, but more similar than different.) I believe if we respect everyone and their religion there will never be conflict. The point is that we need to respect each other’s beliefs and leave judgment to God. Overall, this video was informative as it dives into the depth of their religion and culture. It was very interesting and I enjoyed it.
    Here’s to wishing we could all be in peace around the world. Peace and love to all. Thanks for sharing!

    • @sab8634
      @sab8634 3 ปีที่แล้ว +54

      @Vicki Soni Sorry, but I respectfully disagree. Of course the religions are not entirely the same when it comes to practice and the holy books. I had mentioned that they’re plenty of similarities. From my research and understanding of both religions, the Jews believe in One God "Allah", the Creator of everything with no partner, nothing is like unto Him and He is invisible to all creatures. As do the Muslims. I did not know that the word “Allah” is considered a curse term in the Torah. I am hearing this for the first time and not sure where that is stated in the Torah. I will look this up. The main thing is that Islam and Judaism worship one God only called Allah in Arabic and Elohim in Hebrew and it is the same.
      Muslims and Jews share beliefs in certain Prophets. Jews believe that Moses is the greatest of all Prophets who was sent to mankind. Muslims also believe in Moses, who is in fact the Prophet most mentioned in the Quran. Muslims and Jews also believe in Abraham, Noah, David, Solomon, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.
      Nevertheless, in religious practice are very similar because they share this common descent from Abraham. Islam and Judaism are resolutely monotheistic faiths. Allah is the same Creator, Sustainer, and Provider that Jews and Christians worship.
      I can go on and on about some other similarities: Jews only eat kosher and Muslims only eat halal. There are many similarities between kosher and halal, not drinking alcohol, not eating pork and both religions encourage modesty and require that women cover their hair.
      If you dig deep into the bible, torah, quran, buddhism, hinduism etc. You will come to find that all is one.The differences come from different times, different cultures, different revelation types, different languages.
      At the end of the day, there is only one God and he is God for all of us. So, let’s talk more of our similarities rather than differences. This is the reason for so much conflict in the world. I don’t wish to discuss this any further as I am not here to argue. Good luck to you!

      @@sfdiscovery There is no such thing as "religion" to be honest. In sanskrit the word Dharma translates to universal law. Linguistically the word "deen" in hebrew and arabic means "true judgement" and every human has the capacity to recognize God and truth.
      The Israelite tradition is a continuation of the noahide law and primordial faith of all peoples as revived by Abraham. Even the word "religion" comes from the latin re ligare meaning to reconnect.

      While it's refreshing not to see the hostility. I would not say it's unbiased. Shloimy is a decent guy and he is being somewhat honest but at the same time he's also leaving out a lot of the negative and presenting everything in a very positive way for the most part. The Channel is buying into it. But there are many problems in the hasidic world. Discrimination against women mostly by limiting what they can do and achieve . Though there are some that manage to achieve quite a lot for that world such as judge ruchie. He also was not honest about converting or proselytizing (though in fairness he was interrupted) as they may not target not Jews but lool how much Chabad and other groups target secular Jews? Also the hostile attitude to non Jew may be partially a response to protect themselves from antisemitism but it's much deeper than that. Racism for example runs very deep in this world and in general going to yeshiva as an inpressionable child I was exposed to constant comments about how things are so bad in the goyish world and how we are so much better (today we see one scandal after another, one covered up child abuse incident after another so its BS anyway). Stil shloimy does seem like a great guy and I respect what he does also in the Middle East. (Some would argue he got the blessing for Pizza wrong. ) And I like what Peter is doing also but he does seem a bit naive.

The sensationalist media loves to hold onto this terrible narrative of them searching for every isolated incident that can make them look bad. They have so many community organizations for sick people, for grieving people, for infertility treatment subsidies, food drives, paramedic and patrol volunteers, you name a communal need and they have a service for it. I lived in Brooklyn from 2016-18. I'm a Puerto Rican non-religious Christian woman and found myself working at an Orthodox Jewish office in Boro Park and it was a major culture shock for me. Most of the women I worked with had never been around a gentile or an outsider and developing relationships with them was very difficult. A few months in I had pretty much assimilated and was accepted by everyone at my work. I've been to weddings and other gatherings, and to this day they are some of my absolute closest friends. I love this community and miss Boro Park dearly! I'm so happy I found this video.

And I don't say that as a moral thing, but as a group very steeped in what they are doing. They don't care if you don't do it, they truly believe that's up to their God to decide. They are just very distant because, as the guy said, they've tried the open choice thing and have been burned so many times. At some point, whether it's religion or something else, when people cross you SO many times, you just stop fucking with them

    Borough Park fun fact: Originally, the area was called Blythebourne, a small hamlet composed of cottages built and developed in 1887 by Electus Litchfield, and then expanded with more housing by developer William Reynolds. Jewish immigrants began populating Borough Park at the turn of the 20th century, beginning in 1904 to 1905. Then in the 1920s and 1930s, Yemenite Jews immigrated, establishing their own enclave. It didn't become heavily Hasidic until the 1980s.

    I did business with Hasidic Jews for many years. They are masters of internet selling to the general public. They are expert in snagging government bids. I have been in their houses, met their families. They are tough customers, but they always pay their bills. Peter as always is a great cultural ambassador and interlocutor. And yes, the food is really, really good.

    I got taken in by a Jewish family about 5 years ago and became the family Goyum. 😂
    I have considered converting a few times because I have truly grown to love them as my own family. I brought this up to them at one point and they were just like “WHY?” The no prostelyzing thing is not only real but they were straight up like “dude we’re the most discriminated against race/religion in history, do what you want but you can totally just have kugel and not sign up for the negatives” loool.
