I'm really torn if I should buy the new iPad Air or the upcoming Ipad mini. I want an iPad for note taking as well as a good all round Ipad for on the go because I'll be starting pastry school soon but I don't know if the mini is too small for it. What do you recommend?
For school, I would still say the normal iPad Air or iPad 10th gen is a better option for doing work with. I find the mini better for browsing or streaming media or doing light note taking
For this use case, I would recommend for ipad air. Even the M1 version is more than enough for the next 5 years.

My next upgrade is going to be the iPad. Waiting to see what is introduced this cycle before deciding which model. I have a 4th generation mini now and I really like the smaller lighter Apple products over the big heavy ones. I also own and use the last Macbook 12. I waited until they brought out the second version and then maxed it out. My MB Pro is a 2015 product and it is on my 2025 or 2026 time list.
Thank you for the hard work, I was thinking about getting a new iPad mini, since the old one already doesn't support the update anymore. I looks like I am going to wait a little bit longer

iPad mini has been really interesting for me. Other iPads are just too big to use especially for gaming. I may be getting one once it’s released this year

I was thinking of getting the ipad mini but for such a tiny device it is so expensive. I just wanted something small that I can read on / watch vids on when commuting.
I might get the new mini, love the idea of the pencil. I also waiting on the home pods, but would like them more like the mini in appearance…one of the things I would like, besides the widgets, is to have photo scrolling displays, I want to have it play my audible books.

I find the iPad mini to be the most useful iPad product available. I use my mini constantly. The upgrades to the chip set is fabulous news. I will be at the front of the line when the mini you described becomes available. I hope you are right about the coming improvements.
I love my Mini. My only regret was getting the 64 gig. I'll be upgrading just to get a bigger hard drive but all the other upgrades will be nice. My Mini is my e-reader and travel iPad as I have my iPad Pro for my main.
Hopefully the next model will start with 128GB

I so wish they've make the mini capable of driving an external monitor at full resolution. That would make it so versatile.
This iPad Mini looks interesting and this is the device I will want to buy this year. I had the last gen iPad mini but had to sell it coz I needed the money at the time. Besides It was not fast enough to justify it as a backup video editing device. But this new one might just be the one

iPad Mini 6 is alongside an M1 is amazing for college work! However, this year I am planning on buying the iPhone 16 Pro Max since my iPhone 11 Pro Max is my oldest device in my ecosystem. I will enjoy those 120Hz and better battery life

I have the Pro he Pro 11", iPad mini 6th Gen, MBA 15" M2 and both iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max. I really hope they drop the new iPad mini! I use it behind my iPhone mostly. I have a nerve condition and makes it difficult to hold the Pro 11" & Pro Max. I love the mini the most even over the pro version. I will be buying the new iPad mini if they drop it. One of my best electronic buys this year. Hoping for new one next month!!!

I downsized from iPad 12.9 to iPad Air. I didn't need the larger size. My partner is on her second iPad mini. I am hoping for a big upgrade to the new iPad mini.
Id like some sized inbetween the mini and 11 inch. 9.5 inch would be great.
