Omg i thought i was the only one on 2019 wanting a flip phone!! All these new phones kind of...look...strange. So i miss the flip phone days, really wanting one!

Got rid of my smartphone a few years ago and haven't looked back since but I would not recommend this phone. I had to upgrade my phone to 4g so this is the one I got and there are better options.
I love this phone. I’m not using my iPhone 7 anymore. Just this and my mini iPad is all I need. Great video. 👍
The last flip phone I had was the Samsung Rugby 2. That phone was a beast. Week long battery. Waterproof and impact resistant. Wish I still had another one as backup or an updated model. Those type phones bring you back to when all this social media was less important. Actually communicating with people out in the real world actually met something.
I can see using this flip phone and not using social media. But the bluetooth, wifi calling and voice texting sounds like a win for me

not really available for Tmobile, the version T mobile provides has KaiOS 1.0, which means that it doesnt have access to the store, or any of the google apps, or even whatsapp.
Have one, love it for what it is. Agree totally with your experience. 2002 is asking for its camera back but the overall experience is fun like a brain teaser, ya gotta think and strangely I like that. Radio sounds good, browser takes some getting used to. Haven't used maps yet, hope it talks to you.
Anyone who wants a mobile device for internet browser or for using maps, really should use a smartphone. Like you said, the Alcatel Smart Flip is good for what it is; mainly a phone for voice calls and receiving text messages.
I have a polaroid camera, no social media, got a tablet and laptop and my phone has no data at all. I mean, I don't even need a smartphone. I order this phone online it is pretty cheap. Can't wait for it to get here. So excited!
Maybe some kinda timeout on that outside screen got changed?

What you experience with the front/cover screen is either a design problem or a manufacturing problem, and my guess it is common. My Alcatel MyFlip also has a problem with the front screen. Still device works for calls and texts and managing through the settings.
Thanks for the review. I'm trying to see if this phone is good for my parents.. They're in their 70's and I need to to see if the dialer screen is big enough for them to see when making a call. I can't find an image or a screenshot or video of the Dialer in action.. making a call receiving a call. Could you show the Dialer in action? Do you think it's big enough for them to see?
The outside screen won't work unless you turn on the power button when it's closed. My battery been draining. Yutube works great. Maps works great.
I'm thinking of getting this phone, but I'm curious about how well it is for GPS/Google Maps. You say it's good? Is it slow?

I been using my go flip 3 for a year, I wont go back to a smartphone again and I'm 39 years old.
Can you tell us, if Contacts are searched for strings (letters you entered) _anywhere_ in names? I mean, after I enter, say, "dr" a list will start with all these Dr. A. Brown, dr C. Drown etc then Amy Smith foot dr, then maybe Bob the drummer? This feature is critical for me and not many models have that.

I have a smartphone and this. When the smartphone dies, I will probably go to a small tablet for the smartphone stuff and just use this type of phone for the phone stuff. I only wish there was a pedometer app for step counting.

Not google play store but it has KaiOS store which has facebook, twitter, whatsapp and other Apps

No Hangouts? Any way to side load an apk? I haven't had a Kai OS. Honestly, this is great, I was looking at that Nokia flip just announced, but it's not USA LTE compatible really, so would rely on 3G(?)... And more importantly it's $180 last I checked.

It has WhatsApp. KaiOS isn't based off Android so no side loading an apk. The non USA phones will run over 3G. For 3G, best to be on AT&Ts network. You don't really use data on this thing, its 100% about coverage and AT&T has TMobile easily beat on 3G coverage. I got a Blu Zoey Smart and it works great and was $30. The Smartflips you get a BestBuy I hear are sim locked. Gotta use it on ATT or Cricket for 6 months before you can take it to an MVNO like Red Pocket or something.

I pay $10 through my ATT plan. Unlimited talk,text and $10 worth of data. Auto billing , think $35.

Does it work on Verizon. Can I use the desktop version of Discord on it , I am anticipating the WiFi calling and the fm radio and to put my music on an sd card to use it with the music player. And also trying to detox from my smartphones.

For what it cost its not bad found on amazon uk for just £24 operating system linux,still better than the nokia my mum uses and the video quality is still way better than my old sony w200i that i still have .

Cricket calls it the "Go Flip 3", but it's the same phone. I'm using Red Pocket which is one of many MVNO's that use AT&T towers with better prices. No unlock required.

I'm paying $35 unlimited calls,text and I forget how much data, auto pay at ATT. Data rolls over. I have over 1000 minutes rolled over.
@@awesomeone2979 The ATT doesn't have HotSpot but has tether. T mobile has HotSpot.
I have a alcatel my flip on TracFone and it wont update over Wi-Fi
Make sure that you have it either plugged in with the charger, or that the battery is already fully charged.
Crap Alcatel phones, have very bad experience for single one of them. If you want a Kai OS phone , go for Nokia.
