When it comes to Morelia Neo, Mizuno does not mess around! Introduced over 10 years ago, if you look at the first Neo and the latest Neo, its clear what Mizuno is trying to do. It's a "speed" boot with a kangaroo leather upper, lightweight construction, and a modern take on a classic stud pattern. Nothing more. With the name of the game with each new generation being "refinement". Why change what is nearly perfect?
In today's video we take a closer look at the new Mizuno Morelia Neo 4 Beta Japan, the latest Neo offering that hardly looks any different from the Neo 3 Beta it replaces! So what's actually different? Why are they more expensive? Have they actually been improved? And perhaps most importantly, while we know the made in Japan quality is simply the best, are what is now the most expensive football boots on the market worth their near $350 price tag?

I have these cleats and they're absolutely phenomenal. My only complaint is heel slippage, but once you break them in theirs no problem. The chronical studs are actually pretty good even on grass I do prefer different types though. Overall they're my favorite cleats at the moment. Great video Josh!
*conical
cleats = American opinion now invalid
Happy to see Oriol Romeu playing for Barcelona in Mizunos. I know they barely sign athletes, but it's good to see their shoes shine at the top level.
I am sure it is because they do not actually pay athletes to wear it, as it is the greatest satisfaction to them that athletes willingly war their products.
They signed Sergio Ramos
@@gerardginesta1788 Ramos is basically their star football player. He officially joined Mizuno early 2022.
i always get blisters on my achilles tendon just above the heel in my Neo III's. I put KT tape on the spot before every match and it only helps a small amount. It's a heel lockdown issue. They're wider in the toe, but a little too narrow for me in the midfoot (you can see how they taper towards the heel). I've been using them for training/games for 8 weeks, but they're too expensive to not use at this point. I would not recommend buying them off the internet without trying them on somewhere first.
Man, I just want them to release the Mizuno Morelia DNA again! 😢
great boots. insanely comfortable and lightweight. unfortunately not very durable on AG pitch. also got blisters with them for multiple weeks in the heel area.
I agree, it was an all around really cool and great boot
@@MrDaniiYY of course not durable on AG, they are for FG only (they made an SG, but no AG)
@@MrDaniiYY Mizuno starting making AG specific boots, and so far, they are only in the Alphas and the Neos. However, I do not know if the quality is the same as their others.
@@MrDaniiYYHow long does the durability last?
Hey Josh, are you bringing back the play test videos anytime soon? And the 5 random boots? I think a lot of us really these series, me included, so I'd love to see them come back.
I’ve been waiting for this one!
Really great boot , when i need a new o ne , i will buy this . But could you make some soccer balls tests? I really miss this kind of content coming from this channel!
We need either a white/gold or gold/black colorway like the Morelia neo 2
Ive been waiting for this
I love my Morelia Neo III Elite's. I've had the MIJ once but the price difference wasn't worth it imo. I'll just have to wait until the IV has an Elite version available.
Would you make a review on the Pro model with comparison to the top end option and eve to the New Balance 442 which in the same price point?
ive never used mizuno but these remind me of the adizero f50 trx leather which are my favorite touch cleats ever and might be my favorite shoe ever.
As a flat footed person who’s tried practically every shoe these are by far my favourite. I would recommend them to anyone you will not regret them. Isagi from Blue Lock wears them
I'm shocked to hear this because the neo iii Betas had great arch support and my flat foot friends hated them. Had you tried the IIIs? And if so do you find them comfortable?
Doesn't make sense to me. I also have flat feet, and when I tried the neo 4 beta elite, non MIJ, and the arch was too high for me, it was hurting my feet. These are practically the same as far as I know
I've used the Neo iii Betas for 2 years now and coming from countless Adidas and Nikes the Betas are in a league of their own. I've never had a boot broken in right out of the box until I used Neo iii Betas. My touch was never wonky or off while they wore in because they didn't need it. In fact, my touch was instantly better. I play 3-4 games a week, averaging 4.25 miles per game and they've started to wear out on the inside of my dominant foot after about a year.
When Mizuno fully stop making leather boots I'm taking up cricket. God I love the quality of their boots.
Bob 🇬🇧
i got the red mizuno neo 3 MIJ = comfy, durable, the best of the best
How is the heel? Stiff internal heel counter or is it more like a Tiempo 15 or Phantom GX where it has the flexibility?
Hey Josh, great review as always. What are your thoughts on the non beta version of these cleats? Is the only difference the tongue construction?
Josh do you think the Neo 4 not the Beta, also as good as the Beta?
i drop a like even i can t afford them , because i apreciate your work
Would you recommend these or Morelia 2
could you review this boots elite takedown model?
Where/when can I find the neo beta 3s on sale in the US?
How does the coupon work 😅 I want a pair of those
What is the construction like of the soleplate, from the inside underneath the insole. Is it the same Japan vs elite? Beta vs non beta?
Can you pls rate puma king pro, I have them and they are phenomenal
Hi josh, can you to comparison puma takedown model
Will there be a review on the pro model and none beta version ?
Do these fit true to size?
Managed to get these boots on sale (almost half the price), and I have to say they are the best boots I have worn. Tried many elite level boots from lots of brands and these just fit the best for me. Lockdown is excellent and my touch is much better and sharper with these boots compared to others. You do get hotspots in the heel, and there is a slight bit of space in the front, but I don't think it's enough to go down. I play exclusively on AG, and these have been completely fine. No stud pressure and plenty of grip. Only complaint is the durability on AG pitches. The outside edge of my right shoe is wearing and there is very slight sole separation after only one game. Will probably need to put some super glue.
Is there a big difference between the Morelia 2,3,4 I heard the most comfy ones are the 2s I heard they feel like your not even wearing cleats and I want the most comfy ones
Give me some AG’s of these Neo 3/4 MIJ’s
I would recommend going down a size. They run 1cm big.
I usually wear size 9 (nike tiempo legend 9 ) should i go for 8.5 for mizuno morelila neo 4 pro?
@@junl1961 yo bro did you find out if going down a size was better
@@neazo.3564 yeah so i got 8.5 neo 4 pro ag model. It felt pretty tight at beginning i even thought about buying a shoe stretcher, (length was okay but wide wise) but after playing one game on the field, it was natuarlly strecthed due to kangaroo leather and perfectly fit.
Extra note : when i had timepo size 9, i had tiny bit a room in front of toe and wide meaning tiempo size 9 was not tight fit but comfy perfect size for me.
@@neazo.3564 I was 9.5 in tiempos and mercurial vapours - size 9 was perfect fit for mizuno morelia
Im 10 in Adidas
Which one choose between alpha and morelia neo ?
hey josh, when you think a new nike pack is coming out?
I love the Mizuno boots
hi, I have extremely narrow feet, are these cleats good for me?
I got the neo Morelia 3 as a pair of comeback boots after a year long injury. Didn’t get to wear them in game once.
What size ?
@@mannyandrade7340 I think 9-10 uk
Which one
@@marcusm4567 black with silver mizuno logo
Will you ever review the Adler yatagarashu?
I think with the invention of Things like KLARNA and AFFIRM, Soccer companies will think they can get away with charging more for boots. Since you don’t have to swallow that big purchase all at once.
With all the points Josh shed light on regarding how Mizuno engineered their boots to make them feel and perform they way they do, it makes sense that they are priced at $300+. However, it's durability that keeps me wondering if I wanna buy those. Like, Adidas have the COPA Mundial priced at approx. $160, they also are made of K-leather and have a reputation for being so durable. So, which pair should I pick? If someone can assure me that Mizuno boots will last, then I may consider them, because even when on sale, they are expensive enough to break the bank!
Never had the neos but I’d say the Morelia II’s are probably better durability wise, they last forever. Basically a more modern/lighter/better version of the copa
@@idiot979 Thanks!
Haven’t bought neo beta variants only wore the non beta and morelia. You’re not gonna regret buying either of the Mizuno models given how incredibly durable these boots are. I say mizuno boots and copa mundials are some of the most well durable football boots you can buy right now. The copa mundial’s only drawback is it’s sizing where you have to go nearly a full size down while the morelia neo series you might need to go half a size down. I say go for the Neo 3 beta as Josh says since they’re gonna be on sale and they’re more or less the same. Sure $320 is a lot of money but if you’re someone who’s playing week in week out it’s totally worth it
@@JM-te3gb I surely will! Many thanks for the recommendation!
@@chanchaniceman That helps a lot! Thanks!
I bought these boots, after 2 weeks the white patent started to flake off around the toe box, is there a way to prevent that or is that normal ?
Considering the price of them, I would expect them to last longer.
I still got my neo 3 and alpha (both elite) will be getting these 4s next. Elite version of course cause I'm not paying that mij money for a boot 😅 by the way mizunos are the best and you would not be disappointed
Could you tell me which website do you use to buy those from? I keep having a hard time trying to find elite versions of any Mizuno cleats on my size. Also, did you go half a size down or stayed true to size like Josh said?
@@numa_rod10Go half a size down and Mizunos offical website have the elite versions
@@numa_rod10Are you in the Us?
@@marcusm4567 yes. I am.
How gorgeous are these omg.
Been using Mizuno for quite a while now. About 10 years. Lol. They're absolutely phenomenal. Yes, they are expensive but once you own it, you'll never go back to other boots. Now i own more Mizuno than the other mainstream ones (for bad weather). Lol. & They're never on sale 😅
I have medium to wide feet do you think these will fit ?
@@Kelly-wh7sr yes, mizuno is designed for wide feet
Is there a difference in sizing between MIJ and the beta elite ones?
As much as i love the Mizuno football boots but i'm gonna be honest that never needed a release. Sure it's been what 3 years since the neo 3 beta came out but frankly speaking it never needed a release nor it needs these wholesale changes..
When the hell are they updating the monarcida!!
Please review mizuno monarcida neo mij..✌🏼
Is there changes with the regular Neo 4s too or if it is reviewed or should we be expecting something similar?
As far as I’m aware, no other version is available as of yet.
@@Soccerreviewsforyou Apologies, it was made available back in my home country so I thought it was available either in Europe or in the US
Also, FYI, I'm searching for em in Japan, they are COMPLETELY out of stock everywhere
@@plaisukhum7934 did you have any luck? I am in Tokyo this week - I went to 3 Kamo Soccer Shops, the Sports Authority in Akabane, and the Mizuno store and they are out everywhere LMAO. But they have the regular Mizuno Morelia Neo 4, not the Beta version. Think I might just get that one, curious as to what Josh thinks? @Soccerreviewsforyou they are about 150 bucks retail here, the neo 4 beta is about 210.

Whenever I see "Best" in the title, I know it's a mizuno boot
Is it possible to also use these on AG pitches as the studs are rounded, even though they still are FG boots
Yes, you can. Because of the rounded studs they will not bite into the AG pitch too much. Only thing is that the K-leather toe box is not made (re-enforced) for the pressure of AG and thus the shoe is not too durable on AG. I use 2 pairs a season (only training once a week).
Do the Alphas fit similar to the morelias?
Make a new list of best football boots right now
Anyone having sizing tips in comparison to adidas x crazyfast?
Costs half that if you buy it in Japan. Yen is down and no tariffs.
Mizuno it's never on sale and if you find them on sale it's only a big sizes, the Mizuno are absolutely great cleats the only cleats I use now, anything else is not as good as Mizuno
Its wild but you can get the neo 3 beta for a 100 dollars in India and also pretty much in every size
Dam for that price it better be an all leather boot, none of that synthetic.
Nice boot's, K leather now gone from the Tiempo these might be the next boot's...
These run very long, go at least a half size down. Some people can probably go a full size down
Is mizuno morelia IV beta elite ideal for Runner type like winger or striker ??
Yes, good for any position, but it’s light and comfortable

I wish they’d release an AG version of the MIJ or elite version!
Yep I bought a mizuno moreila ag but it's synthetic leather 😭

The conical studs make them slightly safer to use on AG compared to boots with bladed studs :)
Never wore mizuno. Always been on Adidas speed boots. Are these gonna be too wide., I've heard morelia has a history of wide shoes
yes down to 1 size or half if you use mizuno

Hey Josh, there's been a flood of fake Morelia Neos on the market. I think it would be absolutely great if you made a video comparing the differences. It would get hundreds of thousands of views! Thanks! 😃
I will still use my morelia neo 3 japan, it's 1 year already but it still great, very comfortable and I always love K leather
MizunoUSA selling now for $320
Are these better for people with wide feet
They’re decent for wide feet but the Morelia 2 might be better
Mizuno morelia is made for people with freakishly long feet only
Not worth getting. Just wait for the Neo 3 to get discounted
Lovely boot but white is the wrong colour for it. Makes feet look bigger and you’ll look like a clown if you have big feet in white or bright coloured boots.
