Part of the Japanese culture at least for soccer shoes stores, the clerks are extremely knowledgable about their products (at least the three that I've visited in Tokyo and Osaka) and work really hard to get you the shoes that fit you best rather than what looks the flashiest. That might be the reason why ergonomics are such strength of these brands.

@@NoahCavanaugh you have to put the whole of Asia on your bucket list. Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong and of course China. I see drones flying with packages outside of my Shenzhen China office window and I buy and pick up my McDonald's breakfast out from behind wall of class cubby holes, all app control. All business are done with your phone, literally, including paying busboy a small tip as he wears a QR code on his shoulder patch. Its a different world here.

when I bought my mizuno 8 years ago in Japan.. he took me to the back where I could run on a small ag field and shoot ball and stuff before making a final decision. The guy even asked me what my playing style was and what position i played and stuff, then teaches me how to apply mink oil and cleaning cream.. 8 years later today im still wearing these babies

That's a good point about minor tweaks to boots that have been around for a while making them better. Love these drills as well, I should do them too! I do think the boots can be improved somewhat though. Also, I have that same thing where my bone sticks out on the side.
Yeah it's a weird one for sure, I reckon the materials they have could still work well for a more neutral shape and fit! That's why it's a bit hit or miss with this type of boot construction (leather forefoot, synthetic midfoot). The DS Light X Fly 5 is by FAR and away the best boot for me with that same build formula.

I bought Mizuno Morelia ii(Made in Vietnam) 3 days ago..damn..for a classic boots..its so light..so soft. so good. Looking forward to buy this Morelia Neo next year. Gotta save some money 💪.

I wear two pairs of socks to help avoid getting heel blisters, and I recently started using Injinji toe socks as my light underneath pair to make sure I don't get any blisters from my toes getting pressed together. That's happened to me a couple of times when the 2nd toe on my left foot got jammed into the big toe.

Hey Noah, I’ve just been looking to get a pair of tekela v4 lows as their on sale in an SG model, I have almost the exact same foot shape as you (ridiculously wide midfoot, narrow heal and slightly wide toebox). Do you think the standard fit in a half a size up from my usual size will be okay ? In the UK I can’t seem to find the wide fit anywhere. Thank you !

I got these as well and my only complaint is that i wish the studs were more aggressive for real grass fields. Even Tiempos feel more grippy for me.

I just bought the betas in the launch colorway and the fit decent except the ankle flares out a lot on the lateral sides of the boots. Should I keep them or return them?
Fair enough mate! If they fit you okay, then it’s up to you to decide whether the bowing around the ankle bothers you!

9 as well unless you have thin feet, then go down 1/2 size

Can you really wear mizunos on ag durability wise, because i bought a mizuno morelia neo 4 beta elite and it feels that the soleplate could seperate pretty easily from the upper?

i have both elite and MIJ and actually i would recommend be cautious with your elite to use on turf. they are quite different built quality imo. my MIJ has no issues except for the lil toe leather comes off (skin wise) but the right pair of elite already got apart on the side upper, toe box area. The left pair seems well made. The right pair already seemed sluggish when I got them for the first time and I was not wrong in the end.😅

I really love the comfort of the ASICS and Japanese style boot (leather forefoot/synthetic midfoot), but the studs are too long and clingy for the AG my league uses. Unless you care a TON about the newest generation, go for the 3s and you won't be disappointed 🫡

Awesome man! What are your current thoughts of the gx2? Me personally I think Nike has completely confused me as they combined a boot for women and a boot for men and combined into one boot a low (phantoms) and high (Lunas) as they did with the mercurials. Also heard they’re more of a chill and loose feel but has lockdown rather than the gx. We’ll see if you’ll review them coming out in Jan. 11. Great Playtest as well!🎉

Morelia is generally more comfortable because of the leather

The MIJ vs. Elite models? yes. quality of materials, build, etc. The Elites are still excellent, just not quite MIJ quality

That's fantastic! As long as they fit his feet, then these will be just fine for AG. At 11 years old though, I think it's probably better to go for the Elite model or the TF/AG model while he's still growing.

Absolutely fair mate, and no I haven't! Looking to start getting into those as well. I've heard they're 90% of what the MIJ products are for 1/3 less $$ which is awesome.
I do. They’re way stiffer out of the box than the Japan ones in the toe area, but once broken in (30 min) they feel great. They’re also thinner and have less padding in the front
