They have a very weird relationship where Al can go from being Wade's prisoner, his cleaning lady, or even his mother figure at the drop of a hat. The Deadpool movies and his more modern portrayal in the comics really toned down how much of a scumbag he originally was. Probably for the best because at the end of the day, he is supposed to be the protagonist, anti-hero or not, and you should be rooting for him.
I’m glad someone mentioned this ! Let’s also remember Deadpool was originally created as a villain(hitman for hire). He’s more of a complete psychopath but smart mouthed at the same time, X Men Origins portrayed him very similar to the original comics… more cold hearted.
I don't get how it being modern has to do with being less of a scumbag. As people still get held hostage even in modern times. Maybe you mean there's a more "sensitive" climate and people can't handle that type of content, or so he doesn't get "canceled."

Blind Al is from the comics... and it was pretty dark at first. She was his prisoner for years, and he was pretty cruel to her. He had a room full of sharp objects that he threw her into when he was angry. She retaliated in other ways, insults, and putting laxatives in his food, but it was pretty disturbing in the comics, as opposed to cutesy. Eventually they did part ways, although Deadpool would still prank call her. The Deadpool of today is a lot more lighthearted then he was when he was starting out.
Gimme a 6-12 episode mini-series of just Deadpool and Blind Al; heavily imply that astonishing, fantastic and amazing things are concluding or about to go down but never show said things... Whole series is just about what goes on before or after incredible things happen Then re-new that series for a second batch of episodes #DriveBy
