"you can tell. You can always tell" says so much about Wade as a character and just lets us know so much about his past. Such an oddly powerful line.
I was abused as a child, and when I saw this scene, my mind went “YES!!”
Also the line about how sometimes you have to fight dirty in the name of what’s right.
Wade, or Jack(his real name) was a delinquent who got his ass beat as a kid by his drunk, ex military dad.

When Deadpool says “these guys hurt you?” My heart dropped. Even with Deadpool being such a joke-type of guy who takes nothing serious he knows when to take things seriously. This really showed the hero side of Deadpool

In the comics, Deadpool does in fact have a moral code, which is to never kill children or teenagers (he even refused to kill a rejuvenated Apocalypse when Psylocke, Fantomex and Wolverine were willing to go that far). In fact, child abuse usually angers him because he himself had an abusive father. This scene does a pretty good job at portraying his sensitive side. The first movie introduced Deadpool as a wisecracking, unpredictable anti-hero but the second film makes him more complex and shows that he does have moral values worthy of a hero and that he does believe in redemption.

I think we're all on Deadpools side here, he just saved a kid from being abused. Even though you know, killing bad blah blah. He saved someone, thats heroic enough for somebody like him.
picking a standalone instance. there are plenty of cases where a hero or antihero kills a criminal and it turns things worse. and i definitely wouldnt trust on deadpool making an analyzed call whether the pros outweigh the cons. even here its essential to heroes everywhere that colossus is there to lecture and control him instantly so that public doesnt get the impression of mentally challenged punisher killing people because he feels like it

Not everyone was gonna know, and even if it was brought to light, who would actually do anything without definitive proof? In this case, Deadpool made the right call. If not Russel, it was gonna be some other kid. Those people would have continued to abuse children and get away with it because they know how act nice. Sometimes, you have to play dirty, especially in a world where superpowers, heroes, and villains exist.

Literally one of the best scenes, not even cause of how funny it is, but when he asked “those guys hurt you?” DP has a soft side for kids cause of his past and it really is an amazing thing to see
That’s why he’s one of my absolute favorites. Through all his crassness he’s always protecting the innocent.
