    Good honest review. I have gotten some knives from Walmart that amaze me. Steel is not the best but they work. Amazingly well. I would have stropped it and given a little lube but I get it you are using as received. Still impressive.

    I went back to my local WM for stocking stuffers last night. Low and behold they had ONE of these left!!... and it was marked down on clearance too. Snagged it for $1 !!... Hell yeah, gotta love economies of scale. I immediately tore it down and polished up that rough-crude patch of blade stock. Got it dialed in nicely.. its buttery smooth now. I remember last year YT'ers reporting the the green handle ones were being discounted after christmas. I am surprised my local store was discounting them this soon. It might be a customer return or something like that. It was brand new / unopened box. Unfortunately Axis locks are not the easiest things to DIY. Gotta remove the pocket clip, pivot screw, scale, omega spring. Lift up-out the stop pin with needle nose pliers, and then remove the liner. In that order first. Once you do that then push out the pivot stud a little bit to get the blade stock out. Its the stop pin that is kind of like a "key". When re-assembling insert the stop pin late in the process so the parts can free-wiggle back into place.

    Nice!!... best review on YT for this one. I have EDCd this flipper for a week. I open a couple boxes a day at my job. No issues at all with mine. As you show a quick touch up with ceramic rods brings it back to life easily. I did however tear mine apart and polish the blade stock where the axis lock bar rides. That area is really rough, crude and poorly made. Once you do this its as smooth as any axis lock knife.

      Yep, Not a Benchmade.
      It's a $5 Chinese made knife.
      So...😊😊

      @@ZSBvids Yeah these cheap walmart knives are generally hit and miss. At $5 though its almost a moot point, take it apart and DIY some new life into it. IMHO the real value with these, and the multi-knife gift sets is they give you a cheap way to sample different designs before making a bigger investment. Some things I have learned over the years from WM knives... not all axis lock omega springs are created equal. Some axis lock designs are more sensitive to omega spring stiffness than others. Blue loc-tite is not strong enough for pivot screws. Tip up or down doesn't matter to me. Softer steel sharpens / strops much easier.... they key is choosing a steel that's hard enough for the individual. Run pivots dry / un-lubed if possible. Lube just attracts dirt and pocket funk. A strong enough detent is just as important as a strong enough lock up. Pivot ball bearing versus bushing, I prefer bearings.. but its not a deal breaker. Pocket clip deep carry type is preferred. If you are the proprietary owner of a lock design and chose to expire the patent, the entire industry will seize the opportunity and undercut all your hard work on it.

    Eh, my action came amazing outta the box, but can’t seem to put an edge on it. I’ve used many different methods too. Might as well pick up a ganzo with a crossbar or in my case, I got a cjrb pyrite alt for 25 bucks on sale from the usual 50.
    This ozark is the same as the rest, pig with lipstick compared to a pyrite.

    What is the point in not lubing the knife? I lube all of my new knives, no matter they cost.

    • @ZSBvids
      @ZSBvids  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The point of the video was to see how the knife performed straight out of the box, no sharpening, no lube, no nothing. It was a challenge to see how it would perform for a week with no interference. Make sense?

      I guess listening, paying attention, and comprehension are just dead. Nobody seems to bother to actually watch the videos they click on or listen to what’s being said. Just bee line to the comments to sound off with whatever dumb shit is rattling in the empty hole where the brain should be and slamming their ham hands on a keyboard. When did people become so friggin stupid. “Below Average” is an absolutely ideal name for you bub. I’m assuming someone else came up with it for you though.

      @@danmatthews5364 It’s not that I didn’t know how to sharpen the knife, I made this video because some people don’t have access to sharpeners or even know how to sharpen. So, I wanted to show how this knife would perform straight out of the box. I get it, you made your knife super sharp, that’s cool. BUT, that was not the goal in this video. Thanks 😊
