Superb channel and idea....you are a lucky man but I really appreciate the content you bring to us, it's so interesting to see what I could never experience. Thank you.
Honestly, for a place that luxurious with 3 Michelin Stars, a legendary name, quality food and service, AND in Monaco, €1000 for 2 is a really reasonable price!
@@matthewbrealey2026 That's actually still really good! A 1 Michelin star meal cost me around that much per person in San Francisco without a beverage pairing, and I can't imagine the prices in New York!
My thinking also. The costs for building, the amount of high end personal, quality food and presentation, calculating that with a profit margin, it's hard to imagine how it could be much lower. And, for their costumers (thinking mostly of categories like top F1 drivers level income), it's really peanuts in comparison with their bank balance.
Yeah I agree, I think the wine seemed reasonably priced in. This is a meal I would probably never afford, but somehow I think it was reasonable for the quality that was given. And you're also getting to experience the hospitality of legendary Ducasse... I'd much rather pay $1,000 for this then some new restaurant trying to make waves in the industry. This is historic.
Having grown up an hour's drive from Monaco, I'm also amazed by how they kept this close to the local cuisine. Also, the anemone you were served is a mediterranean species known as purple anemone. It's been fried by the people of the cote d'Azur for decades and used to be a poor man's dish.
Interesting, lobster was also seen as a poor man’s dish in the New England regions of the US. People would hide the carcasses at the bottom of their trash so no one would know they were eating lobster.

Hello Alexander I have two suggestions for you. 1. I would like to see a video where you explain fine dining etiquette - you have mentioned clothing before. As someone who have never tried a fine restaurant, but aspire to try it, I have little clue on the etiquette and what is expected by me as a quest. 2. I would also like to see a video from your own restaurant, and also maybe a few videos from a one or two michelin star restaurant to compare to your usual videos. Maybe you could mix the two, and make a video about etiquette in your own restaurant, where it may be easier for you to talk with staff and likewise. Great videos none the less! Keep them comming :D
Hey, I'm about to graduate from a hotel and catering degree in the French Alps and I have several classmates who work or have worked in the fine dinning world, so I know a little bit about the subject:) the etiquette is mainly the dress code, for a restaurant like the one in this video you can wear a standard, classic suit, but you can honestly skip the tie, and beyond that, good table manners should be practiced at the table (no elbows on the table, eat with your mouth closed, actually enjoy the food and don't just devour things), beyond that I do strongly recommend that you inform yourself about some of the things that are in the tasting menu as part of the experience is just getting to know the crazy rare and exotic the ingredients you're putting in your mouth are, that includes the wines! Either way, just be polite, dress well and enjoy the ride. The last part about the ingredients is optional, but it's a personal recommendation since it's a big focus of these places, and IMO, it adds to the experience. Keep in mind that the restaurant shown in this video is a top tier three-star Michelin restaurant. A one-star Michelin or non-starred gastronomic place will often have a less formal dress code, so it's always good to look up the dress code for the particular place you're visiting. You can probably get by with a shirt/blazer, jeans and sneakers in a bunch of places.

Who is Alain Ducasse?
The world's best Chef......A Chef's Chef....
only time we saw our old Swiss chef get emotional was when we gave him Alain's book for Christmas....
We think there was a tear in his eye but we can't confirm, ahahah
Beautiful, informative video, thxs
The food doesn't excite me - pretentious. But the dining area is lovely, and the Amazing kitchen is very impressive and mind-blowing 🤩😍🌹
Simply love love love everything about this channel .ciao from venice italy
Alexander, I love the production quality, passion, and attention to detail that your videos convey. I know for a fact your channel will be successful.
However, the delicate and even tranquil ambience you so painstakingly craft with each of these videos is being overshadowed by the very loud and jarring outro.
This is just my opinion. Please keep doing what you're doing and much love.
Wow! Wow! 🎉
For you Americans: Monaco is definitely worth the hassle and expense for a couple days, then go W a few km to Villefranche-sur-mer to take it down a notch, or head E to San Remo to get your pasta on....Chapeau!
Great review again !! Love your style of the review. Also happy to see all the wines !
Hi. When you pay the previous 200 € to book a table, when you pay the final bill, the total amount is without the 200€? Thanks.
I mean, you pay 600 € in total or 800 €?
This is A+++++++++ culinary content. Thank you so much.
I'm a multi-millionaire (stocks basically) and I would not be interested in eating in those types of restaurants unless it was a wedding or something.
I prefer a $50 Wingstop order with friends or casual night out at Chillis restaurant on a random Thursday night; something like that.
I can not criticize people who like fine dining because people who like fine dining probably think i spend too much on cars. lol. Im a sucker for cars....from Cadillacs to Ferraris lol
To each his own i guess.
Great video.
