- Our restaurant for today is Le Cinq. It has one of the most expensive 3-star menus in the world for 530 euro. The head chef is Christian Le Squer. Its located in the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris. This luxury dinner with this kind of highest quality service was truly an outstanding experience.

This feels like its own TV show. It's organized/edited perfectly, and is so fun to watch. Thank you Alexander for another great experience!
because it clearly made by a production company, he's just the host
@@kitezzz360 Yeah - the money behind this is from Michelin, it's a thinly veiled promo series for their guide and the restaurants in it. Very well done, but Alex is just a talking head host. The media promo / PR budget for this series is more than most TH-camrs make in a year.
@@GlenAndFriendsCookingAlexander is a successful businessman in his own right, he's had a Hungarian language YT channel before this one where he talks about being an entrepreneur
@@damianich4824 I know he is, he's also an amazing 'starred' Michelin Chef. But in this instance, on this channel, he's a host hired by a huge machine to advertise the Michelin Guide and the restaurants in it. That doesn't diminish who he is, but it does bring context to how this channel is made and how quickly it's grown - Marketing Money.
@@GlenAndFriendsCooking do you have any proof that it is a Michelin Guide ad? I think such claims deserve more proofs.
Alexander had been filming for longer than this, and - like many owners - spends a consequent part of his life travelling to experience other restaurants. I'm sure you know owners/chefs and how much they travel.
It is also clear that he films (even though the shots are amazing) the shots inside the restaurant himself. I think this shows he has good movies skill, and your original claim seems a bit proposterous.
He also fairly criticizes restaurants (sometimes dunk on them) when they are not doing things right.
Hands down this is one of the top channels that started this year. He knows how to engage his viewers without making the video too long or too short. Can already see myself rewatching these videos years later and still enjoy them as I do now
I have to agree. Many don't know how to talk about a restaurant experience with clear english. Most of them just go, eat and flex with their money. This feels much more like a documentary
wrrrr
As much as the price is on the highest end, hearing that the staff is light hearted and fun is what truly sells me. Food AND laughter fuel the soul like nothing else. The combination of the two wrapped in elegance is almost deserving of 4 stars.
this is the rare ultra formal and elegant *** where you can really have fun , interact with the staff, while enjoying cuisine so magnificent you close your eyes with each dish to savor the unforgettable excellence
I’m a very simple teenager. I see Alexander The Guest upload. I watch.
This was hand's down one the best episode so far. It feels so funny to watch an exquisite experience through my screen while eating my measley hostel food. Great work mr Alexander
I agree… but as I am a sommelier I would love to hear him talk more about the wines he gets in each restaurant as he is also a wine lover and will be an extra touch to reach perfection to me
The price is the price. It's not like you don't see where the money goes. I've never dined at a place this high end, but I've had a few $350 dinners and even there, the difference between a regular restaurant was staggering. You're never going to leave one of these places feeling like you got shorted on literally any part of the experience . Highly recommended for a special night out.
Once you realise that high end restaurants have to pay far more workers per customer, they have to buy the best ingredients, everything in the restaurant has to be the best of the best (both food, cutlery plates) and anything that isn't up to scratch will have to be replaced you can see why they have to charge a small fortune. Most high end are making less money than low end places that can just pump out volume on good food cost. Look at El Bulli, it was the best restaurant in the world and the only reason it was staying afloat was selling cookbooks
I've worked in 5* star hotels as waiter and I like your perspective on details that normally go unnoticed by many people. The world of fine dinning is cruel sometimes but when the quality is there is a magical experience. Excellent video as always.
wrrr
Yo encuentro qie eres super❤
Alexander the G.O.A.T. with another video!
I'll be perfectly honest - Ive seen a video about this place and didn't add this to my "to visit" list as I felt that the savoury courses were not that many for the 500+ euro bill you got.
But leave it to Alexander to showcase how amazing the customer service is and what "white glove service" truly means, and I'm suddenly interested in checking this place out.
I think you deserve some of that foot traffic that will head there way based on this awesome video, sir :)
I prefer sweet foods, so perfect for me!
I worked at the neighbouring restaurant "Le George", we had a big kitchen complex where we worked right next to each other - it was always super interesting to see what these guys would do! The Chefs at Le Cinq are running like well oiled machines, they are truly beasts!
Also, remember that onion dish? The onion jus they cook daily - means 100kg of onions to be processed every day! I still remember the sad faces of interns peeling mountains of onions 😂
wr, no such thing as badx or sadx or for or laux aobut bx or etc
its fantastic that theyre not stiff and can comfortably make jokes and have some sort of humor with the guests
I really like how Alexander always points out that these "treats" he gets from restaurants are probably not all they're hammed up to be. Great transparency
wrr
The sommelier doing a usain bolt was a very fun image in my head. What an absolutely crazy experience!
The service here looks incredible and things like the photography show that they understand that people aren't coming here many times. What's beautiful restaurant
I totally agree with you adding in a “meat” course, and it’s odd for them to end the savory side without one. That said, it’s a lot of rich food and you’re brave for adding sweetbreads of all things on top especially in an à la carte sized portion. No wonder you were stuffed. You probably didn’t miss the absence of a cheese course.
Agreed, very odd. Something that has always put me off Le Cinq is that it's a huge chunk of change for a menu that doesn't really appeal to me (as you say, no meat dish is questionable in my book...eel is a poor choice of final savoury courses).
I'd sooner go to Epicure, which looks just as good, has a better tasting menu (IMO) and is €150 cheaper.
That said, the service here looks fantastic and that filled macaroni looks mouthwatering.
wrrr
At first the prices seem ridiculous but when you think about the overhead of running such a place and how deep some people’s pockets can be, it all starts making sense.
American wealth is nothing compared to European wealth.
Thankyou for the second point, running costs are one thing. But when you are truly amongst the best in the world in a field of decadence and opulence you should have the right to charge a premium for it. It's no different from a world renowned artist commanding high prices for their work.
I can't imagine the payroll alone with almost a hundred service and kitchen employees... and not just "employees" some of the best you can find in France, hatted by one of the best chef in the world... amazing
Always a blessing to experience Top End places thru this channel
Alexander the Greatest is back, i've been waiting so much 🙌🙌
a few weeks ago we were in Paris for an 10 star trip. 2 three stars, 1 two star, and 2 one star establishments. as my wife knows le V is my absolute favorite everything in this video is spot on including the professionalism and attitude of all the staff. as far as the som, I gave him a varietal and price range and he actually came in 100 euros below with a wonderful Chassange Montrachet this was perhaps our 5th or 7th time here (who counts when you are in culinary paradise!) and the joy never fades. just watching this video makes me want to hop on the next 777 to CDG as a side note the Chef once came to our table to say hi and was so friendly and funny he actually suggested we go back to our room and complete the romantic evening! (perhaps we bonded because I'm the rare New Yorker who speaks fluent French including high argot)
thanks to Alexander for this wonderful video and for lighting the fire to sacrifice a ski week for a world class and memorable experience
Giving chocolate a pass? My peasant stomach would never.
I love how you don't just fall into the review/praise genre, but actually critique the establishments you dine at. As a former michelin level chef (de partie) you are the diner that we hope all of our covers be.
Wow! This is my kind of place. Pure elegance and class. I love it when the staff is not pretentious or stuffy. Thanks for the video.
everytime he smiles at the camera or describes something you can feel his enjoyment in every word it makes me smile too
I love the places you visit. Expensive but not a rip-off. It's liking going to the theatre, an art gallery and dinner all at once.
Love that he brings his daughter to all these places
120 euros for some sweet bread. Wow this is a whole new level of fine dining. Glad to live it vicariously through you!
Yes. Me too 🤤❤️
It wasn't bread tho
Outrageous cost for what is essentially a starter

Watching this, while enjoying my frozen pizza
Another amazing video. Your production quality deserves 3 stars!
Best channel about fine dining I ever seen on TH-cam.
If ppl complain about the price. It’s not even the products. It’s the staff, the linen, the flowers…all of which makes a three star restaurant visit unforgettable.
flabbergasted by the quality of your videos, one after the other.
I have to say when it comes to story telling and food touring, you can't find anyone else on TH-cam this professional as Alexander, we have many famous names on TH-cam but no one comes as close to fine detailing like Alexander does! He is the next superstar in the chef's world.
The Gratinated onion dish was in my top 3 best dishes of a lifetime.
Amazing restaurant experience 🙏
5:58 I love the length of your break, Alexander. Please never change!
I love the graphics when he’s introducing people and places, so professional and creative.
I love everything about this channel; perfect mix of professionalism, humour, and very informative remarks that give us a glimpse into these wonderful dining experiences. Thank you Alexander!
Le Cinq has been one of my favourite meals of all time. Exceptionally warm and friendly service, amazing food, beautiful room and hotel. Truly memorable.
This is by far my favourite channel to watch! Every day I come here to see if there's new content! Thank you Alexander for showing us the world of Michelin!
As always you have the best production. It always makes me happy when creators give props to the service staff, and that for me, says a lot about a person. Thanks for giving us a peek into this beautiful restaurant!
Thank you Alexander for your amazing TH-cam channel. As I am a home chef myself, your channel continuously amazes me with the potential of ingrediënts and dishes. Especially considering how simple ingrediënts with the right application and context give an amazing experience. I've recently experienced fine dining myself at 1-Michelin restaurant the Bloemenbeek in De Lutte. With these experiences, I am eager to discover more about the world of food and dining. Thank you!
Literally some real high quality content on this channel! Fun, entertaining and informative stuff!
the idea of they took photo of the meal guest and present the printed photo after they eat are mesmerizing
Such wonderful little touches. Definitely deserving of their three stars! I was drooling over the onions and, as a grapefruit lover, would love to try that dessert. Thanks for taking us along with you!
He is doing us all a favour , spending all that money to tell us if the food is great or not, so we don't have to do it ourselves and waste money incase its actually not that great lol ;) Great job Mr Alexander, always nice to watch your videos, actually feels like I am there.
Oh man... every time I celebrate in a nice restaurant I ask the staff if they can take a picture. Especially if I am with my mother because she loves to have this as a memory. I always feel slightly awkward when I ask for this. I cant believe they actually do this standard here and that you even get a print! I love that they completely respect that this is an expensive service for a special occation, instead of being arrogant about it. I hate it when something is very expensive and everybody acts blase about it, like they assume that you are rich and if you are not that you really shouldnt be there anyway. I dont mind paying a lot, as long as I get a lot.
Presentation is absolutely stunning.
I’m so happy I randomly found your channel! Giving us a wholesome insight into a world that only exists on TH-cam for many people. Well done 👏
I love your reviews. Absolutely the best insights. You know your stuff.
Another wonderful video, Alex. Please never change how you edit and produce your videos, it's the nicest/coziest selection on TH-cam, by far.
The white rose part was so very sweet on the restaurants as well on your part for giving it to your wife.
How do you keep getting better and better at these videos!!! Loved this one
I loved the vlog. Beautiful atmospheric scene. Thank you. ❤ VG
I’ve been slowly moving up in the world in terms of serving (serving for 10 years and been doing upscale dining for the past 3) and i can’t wait to achieve this level of service and pride. I love what i do and i love the fine dining world!
Been once to Le Cinq, about 15 years ago when staying at the hotel: believe me, it was eye-wateringly expensive then too, so much so that I had heart palpitations waiting for the bill arrived. Not wishing to risk a medical emergency again, I've never returned! It looks like a very different and much more interesting experience to what I had back then.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful hotel.😊😊
The chocolate service was so so amazing!!! ☺
Welcome back, i really missed your videos, keep it up 😊😊😊
Every video you put out is on such a high level of excellence!
Can you make a fine dining etiquette video?
Man these videos are a pure joy to watch....only thing, make them longer please! I would love to see and hear even more about the inside views and experiences of each visit!!
That's another restaurant to add to my bucket list. Thanks Alex 👍
Thank you for these videos. They are very interesting and entertaining.
The croissants they give you as a parting gift are absolutely amazing! Great video Alexander!!
Alex, you make the best videos - nothing less! Your way of describing the surroundings, the service, food & wine is sublime. A pleasure and thanks here from Copenhagen/Claus
I really respect you and your content! Honest and professional with a kind attitude. Keep them reviews coming :-)
Love your reviews 🥰
This was the best video from you, enjoyed it very much !!!
Three words - I love it ❤
Great video! You offer the information in a warm, conversational manner that feels relaxed as though we were at the table with you. Very hard to do without seeming artificial. Your English is impeccable. BTW, the hotel is generally known as George V (cinq) just like the restaurant. Looking forward to your next vlog. I love the shorts too!!
Best reviews ❤ always up to standards! Thank you
It's good to see a restaurant that respects all the crafts that go into an extraordinary eating experience, instead if just pushing boundaries to create something unexpected!
Watching this video made me appreciate my old hotel school with pride: Allez, Glion!
Loved it! Thank you!
Finally! I have been waiting for this one.
Hi Alexander ! That sommelier really puts a smile on one's face. What a vibrant, friendly, professional character . Beautiful video . My international travel days are over unfortunately , so thank you for taking me on a flight of imagination like Baron Munchausen . Wishing you and your family good health and happiness !
Wow, looks amazing 👍
Love this
yayy new vid!!!!
Great Job Alex - as usual-))))) Great to hear about the service in this place... I love hearing things like this & hopefully one day, i'll visit)))) Best for Le Cinq))))) and for you Alex as well)))
Love the videos and been here since the start. Wanna see you go to Frantzén in Stockholm! Once again a perfect video into the art of fine dining.
@Alexander the Guest; your channel is really awesome... you give excellent reviews to restaurants of the top most quality around the world. Most of these restaurants I won’t be able to afford but seeing what the best is the world looks like is a treat. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the content you deliver... take care and keep the contents flowing. 😊
The food would be truly wasted on me but what an experience. Great review.
Great video as always!
Another incredible video! I will say, those prices are quite steep but everything looked amazing.
I know your youtube and insta will explore soon, this such good content it´s just amazing!
I have to say this is a good video. It is showing about fine dining and it is realistic and not arrogant. thank you very much
Great show and tell, Alexander!
Love it!
Yet another amazing video! It is such a delight to watch your videos especially because of the way you introduce each moment , each high light and share your joy and passion. Thank you!
Wow❤ excellent food
Fantastic. Simply sublime.
this guy inspirates me so much because i already server in a michellin star restaurant, and he inspires me to be a better me and to reach a restaurant that has 3 stars and serve the people in it.. love ur videos
Great Video!
so wonderfully done! Thank you!!
Love your video again !! Really like how the staff is, formal but also loose and funny !! On the bucket list, if only for the wine prices 😂
Forget Skydiving! This is now on my life-bucket list.
Fascinating video of a restaurant I'll never visit but nevertheless well worth watching. BTW, the most eye-catching thing about your video was your jacket, who's it by and where'd you get it? 🙂
Perfection!!! I just can’t wait on your videos!!!
Le cinq is my favorite restaurant, whenever in Paris I try and go. Frank the maître D always recognizes us and gives discreet and smooth experience. Fully agree with your sommelier experience, never pushing. Had a superb côte rotie last time. 11:08
Wow 👌
Alexander, you should definitely do a video at the famous and original La Tour D'argent in Paris, they reopened just this end summer 2023, and the cuisine is unbelievable, i know the owner and can make you enter in contact with the team. All the best, Anthony
This has to be one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever seen. Four Seasons hotels know how to do it right. That one dessert that was “ice cream” looked like a Frank Gehry architectural design! The service did look wonderful. I like it when the ones serving you in a place like this aren’t too stuffy. Too serious. They should have a slight sense of humor too. Like these people did.
Can't wait to give this a try myself!
