So many of the videos about Alchemist focus on the drama or the expense - I think this was a respectful, insightful conversation about the power of a chef and his vision, with the most polite call-out of the guide at the end.

You know, I could have sworn that I saw someone that looked like you sitting across from us when my sister and I went to Alchemist last year, but I wasn't sure and we were in the middle of dining so I put that out of my mind. Low and behold, as I continue watching the video, more and more context clues point to that exact conclusion and then I randomly see us in the background across from you haha! That's my sister and I at the bottom left at 7:57, 8:22, and more! I'm the guy often holding up my phone recording stuff bahaha. What a coincidence!!! So it WAS you I saw! If I had known it was you, I would have approached you for a handshake and maybe some banter. Your video's are great to watch, and I hope to see more from you! :)
Also, interesting to note, that some of our impressions deviated a bit! My sister and I got a different one from the butterfly amuse (even though I really wanted to try that one admittedly) and the way our burnout chicken was prepared/showcased was a little different! We got the leg as opposed to your wing and it was presented to us inside a small cage that we removed! Quite interesting but I'm glad that it shows that they definitely use every part of the animal and don't let things go to waste :).
After you've ran out of or are tired of Michelin restaurants, do a series about restaurants that aren't but are of the same quality and caliber. For us normal folk.

Despite the less than glowing comments, I for one would love this. Respect to the entire team - the theatre, the cuisine and the messages connecting the diner with just some of the problems we ignore - sustainability, welfare et al. It’s amazing. Love it.
If you're happy to pay 700€ to have a dinner where you're lectured about world problems and made to eat un-appetizing food (insects, tongue, eye, brain, plastic), suit yourself. But it's easy to understand how it might not be appealing to everyone : if one goes there for fine dining only, they'll be disappointed.
@josephr7529 If you're willing to pay 700€, but not willing to research the restaurant you're visiting, then maybe that's your own fault? Iris is an example of heavy handed and preachy, while Central in Peru is an example of perfectly balancing informing people of an area and its traditions while emphasizing the need to preserve both. Good to see you back, Alexander! This place (I don't think you can even call it a restaurant) for me crossed the line into something I don't think I'd enjoy as much as most other 2 or 3* places. Michelin only judges on food. They have stated that they also observe other factors to help achieve consistency. As much as I appreciate that the point of this experience is to create an impact over perfection, each dish is its narrative, and a denouement would be challenging, as every diner would have their takeaway. These aspects lay beyond Michelin's focus, which is food-centric. It is remarkable to achieve 2 stars for that many courses, that many people, that often and have everything else in play. I believe it would be better to think of this as a production of a very creative mind, where food is part of it, but not its dominant feature. Michelin's focus is food; what they are doing lies beyond that.

Couldn't agree more about the Michelin guide. I've been to a few three and two star restaurants, plenty of one star restaurants and plenty of non starred fine dining restaurants. The only thing I have noticed to be consistently higher about the three and two stars is the price. My favourite and most memorable food has been enjoyed at one star and no star restaurants. I strongly suspect that the Michelin guide is not impartial and gives out the highest awards to its friends or who is most fashionable at the time.
WOW.. Just WOW... also thank you Alexander for showing us the world of beautiful and amazing gastronomy... Many of us (including myself) would not be able to afford any of these beautiful and mind blowing cuisine but we were able to vicariously enjoy them through you..
Sommeliers will often change wines or give extra tastings if you get talking to them and show an interest. This has happened many times to my wife and I in restaurants and in cellar doors. You don’t have to be rich or act like you know what you’re talking about.. just be nice and they will share their passion.
I‘ve been to this place a year ago, thanks to one of my fellow colleagues, who works there. I left speechlees. This whole experience is out of this world

What an episode. Thank you Alex ! Looking forward to find Alchemist in youre 2024 top 10 restaurants
This place looks amazing! What an experience it looks! Wow!🥂👏🏼
Alexander, you are doing an amazing job with showcasing all these restaurants and brilliant chefs. Thank you for your Service
Going in a month so contemplated not watching this one but now I'm probably more hyped!
Same here. Will visit end of February. Tempted to watch but i won’t
@@re-cocoI think you need to watch the movie titled "The Menu" and let me know if you think it resembles this.
Great work as usual. Still can't believe you only have 203K subscribers. Love and light from Laos!
Yes!!! Thank you for sharing your experience, it really helps young aspiring cooks like me!
That looked amazing. When they say, buy experiences not things, this is what I think of.
Been there 2 times, and truly the best experience i've tried.
I really felt the attention and mindfulness of Nina. Incredible!
Super stoked! We want more convenient!! 😊
You were absolutely right. This is one badass man that certainly leads by example. LOVE how he effected his local community, and now me :o
Glad you're back, man.
So the movie The Menu is real… Beautiful and horrifying.
I was there under corona, and its still the best dining experience i have ever had
Wow, what a cool place! Amazing story from the chef. This would be a truly unforgettable journey
WOW.. Just WOW... also thank you Alexander for showing us the world of beautiful and amazing gastronomy... Many of us (including myself) would not be able to afford any of these beautiful and mind blowing cuisine but we were able to vicariously enjoy them through you..
It must have been so fun for Nina to bring you wines she knew you'd be excited about to pair with such amazingly odd dishes...
what I don´t understand is only a little more than 200k subscribers. I love your channel
Your presentation is excellent, you are a talented communicator. The only thing, seeing all this makes me feel like I haven't lived.
"This looks like a good place to get robbed." Come to Brooklyn, happy to have you
Wonderful video- Thank you Alexander
Thank you for this. They just did a pop up here in the U.S during Super Bowl & I doubt that experience would’ve compared to the real thing
Absolutely excellent video Alexander!
This only makes me think of the movie the menu. Creepy
Alchemist, a place when last meal is YOU.
If Anthony Bourdain was still alive (RIP) I wonder if he would hate or love this restaurant.
This episode literal gave me goosebumps.
Didn't expect to see panipuri 😂😂
What an unbelievable experience!! TY for sharing!!
Will you ever cover Bib Gourmand restaurants? Id be interested to see them since I didn’t have Michelin star money.
The wine Celler is amazing!!!
Alchemistland is a great fun attraction in Copenhague, but definitively not a restaurant.
Am I the only one blown away by your suits?
Sommeliers will often change wines or give extra tastings if you get talking to them and show an interest. This has happened many times to my wife and I in restaurants and in cellar doors. You don’t have to be rich or act like you know what you’re talking about.. just be nice and they will share their passion.
That’s not just a restaurant that’s an avant garde gastronomical festival
I‘ve been to this place a year ago, thanks to one of my fellow colleagues, who works there. I left speechlees. This whole experience is out of this world
