Perfection. Not really gimmicky or too pretentious. French high dining at its best. Oh apart from my mum’s beef bourguignon, we were not allowed to taste it for 3 days.
When you consider the location, the decor, the service, the quality of the ingredients, and that this is probably a once in a lifetime meal for one person, the price isn’t that crazy. I’ve spent more on a night in Vegas.
French 3 stars cuisine is unfortunately not very profitable, compared to the amount of work that is put in. My theory is that Bernard Loiseau committed suicide over it, as despite relentless work for 35 years, he could barely reach profitability, so when he was slightly degraded by the Gault and Millau, that was the straw that unfortunately broke the camel's back.

Im actually a bit shocked, the price doesnt seem that bad when you figure in everything you were given, It almost seemed to be around a 5-7 course meal. And for the location and the history of the place and the experience, it honestly seems to be worth it.
I agree. Very reasonable price considering location and product received. Check any high end dining in California. This is probably half the cost and twice the execution.
I went here last year. Actually struggled to enjoy it. Being Monaco there were a lot of clear “paid dates” at nearby tables. The butter in particular was insanely good though.
It's funny how many people would prefer a burger from a fast food restaurant over this menu and had the urge to write this in the comments. It's pretty obvious that there are two worlds. If someone pays 414 Euros for a menu, it's not about 100 Euros more or less, it's a lifestyle dedicated to the extraordinaire. I personally prefer other things for that money but I see the beauty of having these gourmet experiences a few times in a lifetime. If people are so fond of their cheap foods, one has just to look at obesity rates in certain countries. There was always a certain pretentiousness about the French cuisine. A fast food shop is found everywhere in the world and street food can be extremely yummi too. Nobody said, that eating at Ducasse prevents a person to try out cheaper and simpler food in the beautiful towns and cities at the French riviera. Non industrial food in France is just heaven on earth.
I’ve lived on the Riviera (Côte d’Azur) for the last 10 and a half years and can tell you the food is bang average here. You’re right, French food is pretentious and expensive but doesn’t deliver on taste like when I visit Asian restaurants in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Bangkok etc. Plus all the waiters bowing their heads and being subservient, I hate that. Nah, French food isn’t the best food in the world, it isn’t even the best food in Western Europe. Go to Spain and Italy for that at a fraction of the price.
Considering how expensive my local Diner is now, $25 for cheeseburger / french fries (when you factor in tax and tip). This Le Louis XV Alain Ducasse Restairamt is a bargain at $450. I used to order out at least a few times a week from a restaurant, but now I just stopped going to restaurants all together because of the prices. I would rather just save my money and then once or twice a year go to a really nice upscale restaurant for a celebration.
although the food looks good, their cutlery looks kinda awkward to use and its frankly quite shocking that the a la carte menu put each of these dishes in the range of 100+ euros.
You gotta realize it's not just about the food, you're paying for the experience. That's why the presentation, service, ingredients are all extraordinary because the experience is what people pay for. I can watch football at home, and get better views, and play by play commentary, cheaper beer and food, but I go to the stadium for the experience which is why I'm willing to pay $400 for a ticket and $15 beers. I'm buying an experience. But because this is geared towards the wealthy people feel the need to hate on it, as if they are somehow above it. If you wouldn't want to experience this meal service at least once in your life there's something wrong with you lol. And this is coming from a country boy in the midwest ha. This looks incredible!
Recently favourite is Guy Savoy Paris service delicious and good dining experience and Le Louis XV Monaco is difference level, slightly less favourite is hutong London.
I mean other than the fact that it sounds like you're eating in a train station it seems cool... and I couldn't imagine drowning each of those nice pieces of seafood in a creamy sauce. They'd all just taste the same. I dunno. If you offered me a free meal here I'd be jazzed about it but it hardly seems worth the price point, especially with that dirty tablecloth and crazy noise level. The crispy breads with the vegetables and truffles are cool as shit though and I'm gonna try to make them. The lemon soufflé and fresh herb tea looked nice, too.

I live 10 minutes away from Monaco, and I can tell that this modern pretentious cuisine is an insult to actual cuisine. It further showcases that rich people actually have no taste and they think they get the best of the best just by paying ridiculous prices for 2 crackers with a few pieces of truffle, which honestly tastes like ass let's be honest.
so true, rich dummies eat crazy expensive crappy food for bragging rights, I personally know a few of these dummies and I always let them know they are fools 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The point is not to fill you up, the point is to use your senses in a different and unique manner. The price comes from the experience, uniqueness, price of ingredient and such. It's like "why would I listen to music on 10$ headphones if I can get the best experience possible for one of my senses with 800$ headphones?"
@@xaxaFilms but the tastes are not even that incredible that's the thing, sure for Americans who are used to eat plastic, anything outside of their country would taste great, but for us, people who are actually used to real cuisine, it's really nothing that incredible.

A tasting menu is a collection of several dishes in small portions, served by a restaurant as a single meal, so you can try more restaurant signature dishes
Great place and surroundings, but very sadly we were disappointed on the day we went, their bechdan nionyn was a letdown, the staff were excellent and they let us chooses another dish, which we did,a very scrumptious plate of sglodion tatws with a delicious side dish of menyn poeth, which made up for the first course. €414 without wine, but not expensive considering Location, interior, service, 3stars Michelin, chef reputation. Many restaurants in Shanghai, Seoul much more expensive
@@jlaz11 Not really the point, not saying the food is not awesome but stupidly expensive dining is even more of a status thing in Asia than it is in Europe, The VIP restaurants are all about appearing and existing in good society, inviting a bunch of people, ordering 10 times as much as you can eat (lots of food waste) and fighting to be the one to pay the outrageous bill.

that's a nice concept in here. Subscribed
what's your general opinion about french food - also - where are u from?
cheers!
Man, I wish I can go to a Michelin Star restaurant one day
Went there for a New Years Eve party. Must be 20 years ago now. I remember a glorious fillet steak and ordering a "cheap" St Emillion for €450. Would I do it again,? Bloody right I would, given half a chance.
wow I wonder if the san remo prawns was really THAT good like they say
What a privilege it would be to experience this restaurant.
Me literally watching this while eating cup noodles
Id probably visit just for that cheese selection, It looked amazing. Overall the desert section looked the interesting. Thanks for sharing! :)
Lol the cheese is the only part that doesnt require to go there to taste it, you can litteraly go to some cheese shop and buy the same cheese
And now for the next dish: a single slice of bread!
With butter!
13:31 For those wondering the bill is 414 and 100 is the deposit later deducted so the total is 314.
I’m afraid I would need an instruction book to know how to eat half of the courses.
I can feel the nervous energy 😂 , id pause and enjoy the bread station for a hot min
While in the USA, the most receipt for dinner i had paid was at Zia's Restaurant in New Orleans 120 USD in 2016. On the other Hand in Turkey, Chinese meals and sushi together are priced at highest for my apetite and paid 600 TL for 1 bowl of rice with mixed meat, 1 Guangzhou meat , 2 sakes, 1 plate of 48 sushis Prince Sushi plate for me.
Today i had some top ramen, but decided to go fancy and added an egg and chopped green onion as garnish.👨🍳
Poor
it's a pity to have such a great meal without the fantastic wines served there...
That day my condition not good, if you want to see wine park you can visit our le cinq and Alleno
@@GourmetBGourmet Sure I will !!
Next time call me, I will help you finishing your glasses of wine...😂
@@stephanedefrance in other videos I finished all the wine at the end….. I can drink two bottle of wine don’t worry haha
i like the content of the vid, but i thing that you have to omit the background noises. edeting would help. thank you for posting
we still not considering hide background noisy, or cover by music, we want show real experience as norm customer but control volume for you to watch... you can see and compare
of course u may can feel different with sitting there actual sound and through video we guess ...
lemon concrete and ghost cheese yum yum
Alain Ducasse is a great chef, find out why on what makes a great chef channel.
8:12 A cheese from 2029 in 2022? Now that's a unique experience!
You get what you pay for haha
For $454 I'd expect to be given shares in the restaurant. 😊
Gorgeous videos!
Amazing experience 🤩. Name of the second cheese (creamy one)? Thanks!
Vacherin Mont d‘Or
What a wonderful restaurant
can anyone clarify, why is there in the a la carte menu “for amateur”
what does it mean?
Should be ‘Amateur' mean as 'Lover of” in french " Stocafi is a seafood stew of dried cod, a local delicacy in Monaco.
@@GourmetBGourmet Thanks so much for clarifying. i thought the dish was only meant for amateurs.
@@danielcurrie7553 👍
Seems like more stressful to eat those appetizers than cooking them😅
I live 10 minutes away from Monaco, and I can tell that this modern pretentious cuisine is an insult to actual cuisine. It further showcases that rich people actually have no taste and they think they get the best of the best just by paying ridiculous prices for 2 crackers with a few pieces of truffle, which honestly tastes like ass let's be honest.
Speak the truth my friend!!!!!!!!!!!
so true, rich dummies eat crazy expensive crappy food for bragging rights, I personally know a few of these dummies and I always let them know they are fools 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The bread looks Interesting.
Like the Southerner I am. I would have built an amazing nacho dish with all of that
الله يعطيك الصحة والعافية يارب العالمين
That was amazing!!! I want to go there.
But does your wallet Wanna Go There?
the gold mine of inspiration! 🌹
Everything was amazing and impressive.
Simply incredible.
Amazing
Gahhh! That Soufflé! Beautiful and delicious I hope… And as it came out I could hear Debussy in the background. Maybe the mic was picking up the ambient noise and it wasn’t that loud during the actual experience?
soufflé very delicious, actual sound not noisy, we still not considering hide background noisy, or cover by music, we want show real experience as norm customer but control volume for you to watch... you can see and compare
of course u may can feel different with sitting there and through video we guess ...
Thank you for the response. I think the videos are great. I’m always interested by what your viewers pick up on, what bothers and delights. I am left curious and inspired!
@@jennifertong135 thanks for the comment, we will try our best to make good videos
Superb!
Amazing
I thought to get 3 * the whole concept has to fit perfect. It sounds like a train station there, wouldn’t like to have perfect food in such an atmosphere

The art of eating !
Geranium, Copenhagen is 3 star Michelin. The sound and looks of this reminds more of a decent diner
very nice place and surprisingly affordable 👌
I WANNA GO THERE
The dessert seems to be more elaborate than the main course!
Signature dessert in restaurant
I can do the same thing in my backyard in Florida for about 20 bucks
A tasting menu is a collection of several dishes in small portions, served by a restaurant as a single meal, so you can try more restaurant signature dishes
Everything looked amazing....,
Thank you to the lady eater who at least ate with some class worthy of the dishes
So nice
would be nice if you talked more about the dish and how they tasted.
I will try to talked or cc more how they tasted, thanks for the advice, good for special day
@@GourmetBGourmet no problem! thanks you
Lovely place.
Looks amazing but give me an honest brassiere or bistro in Lyon anyday. I'm an hungry man!
The dessert,if you can call it that was yet another letdown, mefus e hufen ia did not alert the taste buds at all. Although thoroughly disappointing, we would go again just to see the nice windows and doors, especially the doors!!! Beauties, the lot of them.
€414 without wine, but not expensive considering Location, interior, service, 3stars Michelin, chef reputation.
Many restaurants in Shanghai, Seoul much more expensive
I'm willing to bet the more expensive restaurants in Shanghai and Seoul were serving much more interesting and creative dishes
@@louisazraels7072 kinda disagree, but also see your point. Fine dining like this is like patronizing artists. There's definitely some chefs doing some amazing and interesting cuisine in Asia, some of which are pushing the envelope more so then in Europe
I want to experience this.
