Chris' rating system really confuses me. His comments for this movie and his comparison to the other two Star Trek movies would have me guess at most a 'B' rating but he gave it an A. He's been generous with his 'A' ratings this year. Now, if only there was a way I could make him my teacher...
+Benish Ben No idea what "Superman thing and magic woman are" There are little to no plot holes, but huge leaps in logic, sure. Its a matter of different tastes. The airport scene is very bombastic but I enjoyed it greatly
WTF IS "like the superman thing and magic woman could easily knock out everyone" supposed to mean? WTF? There are few to no plot holes and I like to hear what Plot holes?
This was easily the best one. Felt like this, fun throughout and the writing was lighthearted yet sentimental and serious at times. There are moments of exploration and new worlds and moments where the characters are conflicted about their own lives. Plus, they finally put uhura in the back a bit and focused on bones like tos did.
rip antone yelchin , i remember him doing alpha dog and dying at the end and he broke my heart , and he broke my heart again when i heard he really was gone

This movie surprised the hell out of me. I'm so very glad they took their time to flesh it out because this movie was so awesome. My favorite scenes were primarily the ones with Bones and Spock. It was lovely seeing them interact and their banter back and forth was spot on
Lots of hyped movies this year(BVS, Civil War, Apocalypse) and I enjoyed this movie way more than the others. Will watch it again. personal ranking of the 3 Star Trek movies 1. Star Trek 2. Star Trek Beyond 3. Star Trek Into Darkness but all these 3 are really solid movies.
Into Darkenss is terrible. Fine on a technical level, but is bogged down by a horrid script. It's apparent that Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtman came up with five different set pieces and the script was written by playing connect the dots with them, but they aren't clever writers so it was done horribly. Kahn sucked, he was generic villain, with intimidating voice, but was played by Benedict Cabbagepatch, so everyone though it was a good character (it's the Qui-Gon Gin effect). The characters acted highly irrational and were inconsistent from scene to scene. Half the events were so fucking contrived and convenient that it was nauseating. That film is fucking awful.
Jason Ryan Well there's only two good star trek movies not counting Abram's movies Which are Wrath of Khan and First Contact Besides them at least 7 or 8 of the Star Trek movie they made were utter shit
I only hope it's good enough so that Ice Age 5 tanks. The less that movie makes, the sooner that franchise ends and the more Fox will stop treating kids like idiots.
It's not track that well. It'll be Star Trek Beyond with about 60 mil Ice Age with about 40 mil, Pets and Ghostbusters will be three or four abd each make about 20 mil a piece and then lights out will be five with 12 mil
This is my Favorite movie from the reboot era. This freaking movie was freaking amazing. OMFG. I cried tears of joy twice during this movie. I cried tears of sadness once for Anton Yelchin. It had homages and easter eggs throughout and was a great sci-fi film by itself too.
Justin Lin's ability to fit nice, small character moments into wider action stories is while people are finally coming around on the Fast franchise. Glad he's carried that over.
Oh crap, this movie was actually good?! Idris Elba is in the movie?! Wow, just wow. And if it wasn't for Chris Stuckmann, I wouldn't have known both of those things.
This was the lesser of the reboot series, but that honestly isn’t saying it’s bad. It has its really good moments. Honestly, I don’t think the reboot series really deserves that much hatred, each movie has its flaws, but it makes GREAT use of the source material, great adaptation and performances of characters, and they’re all just so visually stunning. Each villain was performed REALLY well from Eric Bana, Benedict Cumberbatch, to Idris Elba.
Even in the original series, I always enjoyed the banter between Dr. McCoy and Spock, I am glad they captured that so well in the movie. Those were always my favorite parts in the Star Trek TV Series.
"Not quite as good as the first two." "Not as compelling a villain as Benedict Cumberbatch in Into Darkness." Yeah I'm not sure my opinions are going to relate to yours here.
@Chris Stuckmann I totally agree with you, 100%!!! I have a somewhat related question: why is it that every primary character, top to bottom (Rest in Everlasting Peace Anton Yelchin, you are sorely missed!) seems so under appreciated, undervalued spectacularly and overlooked. Frankly, except for Zoe Saldana, who always rises to the task, the leading cast in all outside Star Trek projects, get no love, no cred, no acclaim. Why do you think That is?? Chris Pine played marvelously in a wide variety of projects. Carl Urban has been criminally glanced over. Zachary Quinto, he has made a few poor choices the last 3 years, but is a great actor. Simon Pegg, well it’s not fair to call him under appreciated, he is a phenomenal writer, pretty damn good director, and a very nuanced actor. John Cho, well he is an odd duck. He can handle himself well on nearly any type of role and has decent filmography, 107 entries. He could be a leading, easily. He’s a good looking guy, carries himself well, but he seems to purposely pick small projects. If you have a chance to answer this, much obliged!! Love you channel, you style, your analysis and your integrity. If anyone else threatens you, your wife, your family over an unfinished, first , unedited draft of your passion projects, let me know. Perhaps they won’t be a problem for long... much L♥️VE to you and your lovely bride!!.💥💥💥💞💞💞🎬🎬🎬🥃🥃🥃🎥🎥🎥
Wow. I always find it interesting when someone's take on a film is completely opposite of my own. I loved this movie for the first couple acts for most of the visuals and character interaction, but found the third act to be so brutally underwhelming as to tank the entire experience for me. Incomprehensible action and fight scene's, Kirk's character arc (or lack there of), lack of motivation/remarkably stupid twist for the villain, and non sense resolution transmuted a film with huge potential into a shouldering ruin. C double minus. Also, why is it always super powerful mining ships that tear starfleet ships apart?
You kind of put it very gently. For me it’s the actual regret that I wasted the time watching this c…p with a hope it must be getting better surely. I was wrong - it only got worst and worst.
So, Chris says that the movie is damn good and RT consensus says it's great, but old star trek fans are still salty because it's not a boring sci-fi soap opera.
Star Trek Beyond is a wonderful example of how people are blind to bad Quality and dont know anymore how to measure it. This is one of the worst Movies ever produced, but a lot of people really love it - and theyre objectively wrong with it.
take a look at the original star trek films.. They´ve always based on the new ones.. so i guess (in the 4th they made a timetravel to save earth from wales) they will make a timetravel in the 4th reboot film too :)
I just got back from seeing Star Trek Beyond and it was average. Don't get me wrong it wasn't a bad move. It just wasn't an amazing movie. I am still happy that I saw it. I probably won't ever see it again. Once is enough.
this. and honestly, im surprised chris liked the villain. He was an even weaker villain than Kahn, i mean at least with Kahn we knew of him from TOS and the 2nd movie, so there was a lot of material for his motivations, but Kroll was very, very weak, almost bad. Specially towards the end, devolving back to his original form and making him a spitting, disoriented being with a mediocre plan.
Actually, what got me was when he said that "It took me a while to hook into the movie, it was slow to get started"... yet says that "This is the rare type of movie where each act increases the excitement, like a steady incline, and I loved that!"... so he contradicts himself big time... and then gives it an A-
How is that contradictory? If he thought the first act of the movie was slow but the second and third got much better, then that's an incline. The way I see it, him giving the A- shows how big improvements he thought the second and third act were over the first.
not a contradiction technically, but that would mean he would have to give star trek into darkness and Afreaking+?!? that movies was good looking but awfully written garbage
SPOILERS: This movie is like a love letter to Scott Bakula's Star Trek: Enterprise. It has everything from the bridge to the polarized hull plating and even pulsed phase cannons. It even mentions MACO'S a one point.
You just made my entire year with this upcoming retro rewind(Yes, I know I never shut up about this show) Still waiting for Seasons 6 and 7 to be released, but for now...the midnight society has a new home...in my house..on my shelf. Cant wait to see this. Fingers crossed for a guest appearance by DJ Mchale.
I thought this one was phenomenal, and way superior to the other two. It's paced and structured well, details introduced early all pay off, the dialogue is fantastic and keeps moving nicely, and all the characters get their time to shine (even if Krall's moment shows up later than everyone else's). It's action-packed while still channeling the thematic core of the original show, it feels like everything we could possibly have asked of a Star Trek movie.
I agree. As a non-trekkie, but a crazy arts fan, I look to films as general films. If it's good as a film, it's good as a film. STB, was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like, the steaks were SO high, and the world building was the best. Yorktown is a mind's DREAM. Not to mention, KRALL WAS BADASS!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE'D BREAK YOUR NECK IN A SECOND THAT'S HOW EVIL HE IS!!!!!!!!
It got a lot of hate by die hard Trekkies for having many inconsistencies and ripping of the original Khan movie. I haven't watched a single episode of Star Trek in my life and loved all the newer movies. But yeah, the second movie is regarded by many people to be far inferior to the first one. I guess ignorance is a blessing when it comes to this one =)
+SpaceMonkeyEntertainment this is true because I freaking loved Into Darkness. I knew only a bit about the star trek mythos before watching it, so I enjoyed the movie for what it was instead of letting The Wrath of Khan prevent me from enjoying it. Wrath of Khan is great too, btw.
Well from what i remember, and keep in mind im not a trekkie, the whole uhura spock thing was very poorly received, and the whole death scene was straight ripped from Wrath of Khan with reversed roles, which people very much disliked. I like the spin on the whole thing with Spock and Kirk being kinda the same as their previous selves, but also the exact opposites in other aspects, but i guess what some consider an hommage, others dislike as a cheap failed ripoff attempt. Disregarding the controversy, i think the whole thing works great in the movie on its own and it leads to an amazing Spock fight scene, so what's not to like ? ^^ Not to mention that Cumberbatch does a terrific job as Khan. As much as i dislike him generally, he had that menacing aura going, that makes a good villain.
I'm so confused after watching this review... Into darkness was not great. A B+ movie for me, and probably a lot of other people. The first movie was an A. Then he gives this movie an A- and says the first two were better. Wtf.
For me Star Trek A+ Star Trek Into Darkness A Star Trek: Beyond A It is just a rating though. He can give two seperate movies an A or a A-, but that doesn't necesarily means the movies are equally good or equally bad.
I'm preparing for the hate... Into Darkness is my favorite Star Trek. I hate how they pitch Star Trek as, "Star Wars for nerds," as if it's any more scientifically accurate. In a world with beaming, warp speed, time travel and lack of physics, like the theory of relativity, trying to act scientific is ludicrous. Into Darkness focuses way more on space action set pieces and character conflict than a bs "scientific" plot.
Into Darkness is good, if not unique, in that it addressed contemporary issues through the parable of science fiction ergo the war on terror. The original series did this alot too - watch some of those old episodes with Vietnam in mind and they take on different meanings. Of Trek MOVIES that addressed social issues - I can only think of 4 (save the whales) and 6 (end of the cold war).
I couldn't agree more! My one word review was "FUN" - and you nailed that and expanded on it. I couldn't agree more that it's about the characters. Sure, the tech is fun, the explosions are awesome. But without character development, it's just a lot of noise. So THANK YOU for this review!
So are you one of those people who thought the Ultimate Edition transformed BvS from a bad movie to the best movie and you're hoping Stuckmann will justify your opinion and regrade the movie as the best of the year? Sorry, not gonna happen. Plus, if Stuckmann hasn't already reviewed BvS Ultimate Edition at this point, that's not going to happen now. He would've done so at the bluray release
I would agree that it's sad to need a youtube reviewer to justify a movie..We all have our own experience with movies...I enjoyed BVS the theater version ..and there wasn't many flaws ...a brilliant movies ...I certainly don't need any justification ....
+Adam Droge i'm not even saying that it will have an A+,i'm just want to know his opinion,i'm just making a comment about bvs and you already think i'm a fanboy? WTF?
The trailer was horrible. Random action sequences with out of place music, like this is some F&F in space. It was horrid. The movie was however awesome!
the first two were not good, they were dumb written action garbage with zero character development and extremely superficial representation of the original characters. who have zero reason to care about each other but just act like they are bestest buddies. this one at least creates connections between characters with actual emotions and you find out what people are thinking and feeling. the first two were written by tow complete idiots. look them up, they are the creators of consistently awful scripts
Wait... you are saying Kahn was a more compelling villain than this one?! Doubtful, 'cause I disliked the new Kahn the most. He had no buildup. He was just thrust in there and the audience were expected to pick up on his motives through a 30 sec Spock exposition. If this new villain is not as compelling as Kahn, I am absolutely going to hate him. (Watching it Sunday)
I truly love how Metal/rock is considered classical music in this movie. Also, Chris, if you get a chance, review For the Love of Spock or at least a discussion on it.
I'm Australian and grew up with the original TV series of Star Trek. Star Trek Beyond ticked all the boxes for me. Wonderful balance of dialogue, drama and action. Some reviewers say it was nothing new, well - at least it wasn't another 'Nemesis'! I really loved the movie, and will buy it when it comes out on DVD, as I did with the previous two. Knowing Anton Yelchin had 65 movie credits on his IMDb - and now he is gone (far too soon) is just bitter sweet indeed. The dedication to Leonard Nimoy's Spock was just amazingly logical. He would have loved it. I'm really looking forward to seeing where this leads to the next Star Trek movie. Brilliant! As for those who said, "Ah, just a movie." I disagree. 50 years of pedigree to live up to - and it did masterfully. Yes, they could have done more with the villain, but I don't know how - without blowing 'the third act' - but there were so many running gags (and a nose)... love it.
I completely agree with you. It had a lot of plot holes but the pacing was really good. I never got bored. The battle over yorktown is so epic and the characters so likeable. It's so far my favorite movie of the year
It was totally awesome!!! And since I am your grandma's age, I watched TOS when it was on back in the 60s . . . this movie brought it home. Good review Chris. RIP to our beloved Nimoy and Yelchin.
He really enjoyed the last two. More than this one, but he still thought this one was good. That's like if I give return of the Jedi ab A-. I love the movie, but its the worst of the original trilogy.
***** If you didn't like into darkness, that's fine, but chris did. He liked it more than this one, but this one is still good. You might like beyond and hate into darkness, who knows except you.
understandable. if you want to check out another perspective on movies from an aspiring actor/filmmaker, my review should be up this weekend. check out my channel and what not blah blah blah
Thanks Chris for the end, I was gonna delete you of this earth if you forgot to mentioned them, but you stayed true. High respect for dose two amazing Actors and talents! Anton was one of my favorite actor's, he will be missed but there both having a blast in Eternal Sunshine :)
This is my favorite of the AOS movies so far, or at least is on the same level as the 2009 movie. It is LEAGUES ahead of Star Trek Into Darkness omfg. I will definitely be seeing it more than once in theaters
How would that make any sense? "Hey yeah you know that James Bond character that has been in 24 movies and is white? Yeah he's just gonna be a black guy now."
+Omar Rivero yeah and you do realize the character has always been white. It wouldn't make sense at all unless they made the stupid decision to go with the theory that Bond is only a code name and it's always a different guy.
I have watched all the Star Trek movies and TV shows, and liked mostly all of it, even the two previous new Star Trek movies. But this movie truly shines and it brings that special something that kinda lacked in the previous films, that Star Trek feel that I can't really put my finger on. Perhaps it is the dialogue between characters, the mystery that surrounds the story, the techincal talk or whatever. But this movie felt like a true Star Trek movie to me. I put this up there with First Contact, better than the previous films in this series and now my second favorite Star Trek movie.
Into darkness really was shit. The only people who liked it were Cumberbatch fanboys who cream themselves every time they see him in a film. Don't get me wrong. I like Cumberbatch but he was a horrible choice to play kahn.
I'm really happy that this movie is getting such positive reviews.I've heard very little negativity directed towards it. I'm going to see it tomorrow and am genuinely excited.
Bones gets actual attention in this movie? Fuck yeah!
He often has the best lines in the film ;)

It has to at least be better than Into Darkness. I don't hate the movie, it's just a Wrath of Khan 2 TBH.
Its easily the best one. They finally did bones justice and it felt like the originals series
+kero wack That's what I've been hearing. Going to see it tommorow, can't wait!
you off your rocker mate?
I'll admit, I was blown aqay by how much better it was than the trailers, but Into Darkness was fucking baller
+Grand Canyon Moses so it stole 1 character and 1 scene, big fucking deal

Chris' rating system really confuses me. His comments for this movie and his comparison to the other two Star Trek movies would have me guess at most a 'B' rating but he gave it an A. He's been generous with his 'A' ratings this year. Now, if only there was a way I could make him my teacher...
If to movies get an A. It doesn't mean those movies are equal in greatness. It is just down to the quality that single movie was made too
+Benish Ben Civil War deserves it IMO. Deadpool not so much
+Benish Ben
No idea what "Superman thing and magic woman are"
There are little to no plot holes, but huge leaps in logic, sure.
Its a matter of different tastes. The airport scene is very bombastic but I enjoyed it greatly
WTF IS "like the superman thing and magic woman could easily knock out everyone" supposed to mean?
WTF?
There are few to no plot holes
and I like to hear what Plot holes?
+Zlad! Vevo In my view:
Deadpool: B-
Civil War: B+
BvS Ultimate Edition: B+
X-Men: Apocalypse: D+
This was easily the best one. Felt like this, fun throughout and the writing was lighthearted yet sentimental and serious at times. There are moments of exploration and new worlds and moments where the characters are conflicted about their own lives. Plus, they finally put uhura in the back a bit and focused on bones like tos did.
Felt like tos I meant.
I just back from seeing the movie, I personally didn't like it as much as the last two. I give it a 6/10.
I agree
rip antone yelchin , i remember him doing alpha dog and dying at the end and he broke my heart , and he broke my heart again when i heard he really was gone
Love the fact that JJ Abrams made me a Star Trek fan and revitalized my love for Star Wars.
Review The Terminator series man!.
Yes !
Tell that to my neck

i remember really liking into darkness but ill be damned if i could remember a single thing from the movie haha
That's kind of a sign that it's not that great lol
I fell asleep watching into darkness so I only saw like the first act
The only thing I remember from Into Darkness was Cumberbatch as Khan.
KHAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!
Me too
Think before feeling, when the trailer dropped, people started hating on the movie for no reason. I'm really looking forward to this.
lol I felt like I was the only one who thought it looked really fun.
I saw it today, very fun and entertaining movie. Not amazing, but very very good. Also, love your videos Maxim!
I saw it just now and thought it was amazing

A lot of people forget that Simon Pegg co wrote the cornetto trilogy with Edgar Wright, he is incredibly talented and extremely well read. Great review as always Stuckmann
Chris is the only reviewer I've seen who prefered Into Darkness.
Star Trek Into Darkness is excellent

You haven't watched Jeremy Jahns' review then. He gave 2009 and Into Darkness an Awesometacular, and Beyond a Buy It on Blu-Ray
Will watch it again.
personal ranking of the 3 Star Trek movies
1. Star Trek
2. Star Trek Beyond
3. Star Trek Into Darkness
but all these 3 are really solid movies.
+Jacob Oehlenschlager and that children is why Star Wars is better
yeah because The Phantom Menace and Attack Of The Clones are cinema masterpieces.
+Jason Ryan +revenge of the sith
Jason Ryan Well there's only two good star trek movies not counting Abram's movies
Which are Wrath of Khan and First Contact
Besides them at least 7 or 8 of the Star Trek movie they made were utter shit
im wanting it to be decent to bury Ghostbusters next week ... and push it out of the top 5
Look at the poor third wavers, angry someone didn't like the same propaganda; go run to your safe spaces.
+BoomNuggettime I hope you're joking...
+Benjamin Abramowitz
They aren't going to Axe it any soon it's one of the only things that makes Fox any money
Each villain was performed REALLY well from Eric Bana, Benedict Cumberbatch, to Idris Elba.
movie was absolutely idiotic
Idris was covered in make-up for the most part. Played a good part tho. Cj
I love Star Trek. I love Star Trek Into Darkness. I love Star Trek Beyond. And I will most likely love the 4th movie, too 👍
How's that fourth movie going?
@@TroysMilitaryHistory well they definitely don't hate it
I’ve often said that Star Trek Beyond is the most Trekky Trek movie in the new Trilogy, it felt like a long episode of TOS.
Even in the original series, I always enjoyed the banter between Dr. McCoy and Spock, I am glad they captured that so well in the movie. Those were always my favorite parts in the Star Trek TV Series.
"Not quite as good as the first two."
"Not as compelling a villain as Benedict Cumberbatch in Into Darkness."
Yeah I'm not sure my opinions are going to relate to yours here.
Last time I was this early I wasn't early anymore because I spent time typing this shit.

RIP Anton Yelchin.
Bones was by far my favorite character.
He was so great!
I'm glad that you mention Simon Pegg's writing, when I found out he wrote the script I knew this movie was gonna be excellent
It's a crap film
@@10secondsrule agreed and it made no sense at all.
Anton, not Antoine.
So, Chris says that the movie is damn good and RT consensus says it's great, but old star trek fans are still salty because it's not a boring sci-fi soap opera.
Basically
Which is weird because TOS had like one action scene per episode.
Lol
The bad guy in this movie, Elba, reminds me of Leo Gosset Jr in 1980's Enemy Mine- the way he talks and looks is almost the same.
Biting. Nice observation. Cj
It's so depressing to read Anton Yelchin's Imbd- page. He was going to star in so many movies before he died....

There is a star trek 4, and jj is directing it. Also Chris Hemsworth is reprising his role as Captain Kirk's father
www.aceshowbiz.com/movie/star_trek_4/
Sorry jj is producing. I thought he was directing. But there is a confirmed star trek 4
+ArkSilent panarmenian.net/m/eng/news/217299
yep confirmed star trek 4 but i don't know who's directing it
take a look at the original star trek films..
Agreed.. it was underwhelming.
Na i enjoyed it I might see it again but a 3rd time is a question
"Don't get me wrong it wasn't a bad movie."
No, your fine there. It was a bad movie.
this. and honestly, im surprised chris liked the villain.
Says it's not as good as the first two movies and that Beneduck Cummbersmash was a better villain, then gives it an A-
*insert Jackie Chan meme here*
Actually, what got me was when he said that "It took me a while to hook into the movie, it was slow to get started"... yet says that "This is the rare type of movie where each act increases the excitement, like a steady incline, and I loved that!"... so he contradicts himself big time... and then gives it an A-
Dude, how is that a contradiction!?
How is that contradictory? If he thought the first act of the movie was slow but the second and third got much better, then that's an incline. The way I see it, him giving the A- shows how big improvements he thought the second and third act were over the first.
not a contradiction technically, but that would mean he would have to give star trek into darkness and Afreaking+?!? that movies was good looking but awfully written garbage
Graeme Evans No, just an A.
As soon as you said "Are You Afraid of the Dark" I hit subscribe. I'm 31 and not ashamed to say I still watch that show all the time.
I glad Chris liked it. I really enjoyed this movie, I coulda cried when I heard there wasn't gonna be a ST4...esp when they've just hit their stride.
I always loved spock and bones interactions in TOS
Beyond they have great interaction as well, Bones is very funny ;)
I loved Beyond , great film . My favourite of the three so far .
*First of all, it's ANTON, not Antoine. Secondly, it's a real shame that such a talented actor is taken away in this fashion. R.I.P. Anton.*
5:13 it's Markiplier!
*facepalm*
it was a joke
I thought the same exact thing 😂
With a beard... maybe.
Doesn't look anything like him, what are you talking about?
funny is bones in german is called "pille" (like from pills) instead of bones=knochen xD
?
K?
and?
In the german version of Star Trek, Bones is referred to as "Pille" which means "pill"
In swedish "pille" is slang for penis
Something that is worth noting about this movie is that the tributes were very subtle and well played.
I did love that Karl Urban finally got something approaching the screen time he (and Bones) deserve.
Didn't most people not like the 2nd Star Trek?
It gets a lot of hate for some reason, I thought it was good, not great though
Most people liked it, a lot of die hard star trek fans didn't
I'm so confused after watching this review... Into darkness was not great. A B+ movie for me, and probably a lot of other people. The first movie was an A. Then he gives this movie an A- and says the first two were better. Wtf.
For me
Star Trek A+
Star Trek Into Darkness A
Star Trek: Beyond A
It is just a rating though. He can give two seperate movies an A or a A-, but that doesn't necesarily means the movies are equally good or equally bad.
RP yeah that's true..
+Aditya B
Star Trek - alright
Star Trek Into Darkness - alright
Star Trek Beyond - haven't seen it yet
RIP Anton Yelchin
Excited about the "Are you afraid of the dark?" video! That show and Goosebumps were must-watch shows in my Canadian teen years :D
Happy 700k subscribers, Chris!

except that it was his least favorite, this one was my fav
I'm hoping it's at least better than Into Darkness as I thought that movie was fairly poor.
+Ozwald I didn't really like the first two I thought they were kinda boring, this one was a lot of fun though
+Ozwald so much better than Into Darkness this is the best movie of the reboot. Star Trek is finally fulfilling the promise of 2009
+Jayson Deare Spot on!
So is Antwan Yelchin the cousin of Anton Yelchin? Lol
i f*cking love the movie, mostly the third act
Yeah, but its objectively bad.
So that makes your understanding and taste both very bad.
I couldn't agree more! My one word review was "FUN" - and you nailed that and expanded on it. I couldn't agree more that it's about the characters. Sure, the tech is fun, the explosions are awesome. But without character development, it's just a lot of noise.
So THANK YOU for this review!
I just saw this movie tonight. This review is spot on. Rest in peace Leonard and Anton.
Chris great video👍
Can you do a review about bvs the ultimate edition?
Well, you know exactly what he's going to say about it, so what would be the point?
+Adam Droge well his major complains were about the plot holes, the pacing and cohesive story and the ultimate edition fixes that
So are you one of those people who thought the Ultimate Edition transformed BvS from a bad movie to the best movie and you're hoping Stuckmann will justify your opinion and regrade the movie as the best of the year?
WTF?
Who actually thought this movie wouldn't be good? The first 2 are good, no surprise this one was also good.
The trailers were meh, plus JJ wasn't directing so understandably some people (myself included) were a little err... worried I guess.
The trailer was horrible. Random action sequences with out of place music, like this is some F&F in space. It was horrid. The movie was however awesome!
+DeadGuyInTheGround well I can put those worries to rest while its defiantly the weaker of the three the film is fantastic
the first two were not good, they were dumb written action garbage with zero character development and extremely superficial representation of the original characters. who have zero reason to care about each other but just act like they are bestest buddies.
this one at least creates connections between characters with actual emotions and you find out what people are thinking and feeling. the first two were written by tow complete idiots. look them up, they are the creators of consistently awful scripts
Wait... you are saying Kahn was a more compelling villain than this one?!
WELL WHAT DID YOU THINK NOW?
Yes, they could have done more with the villain, but I don't know how - without blowing 'the third act' - but there were so many running gags (and a nose)... love it.
I find star trek beyond Way better than the 1st and 2nd film.
Damn he said so many good things then said it wasn't as good. u twisted me Chris.

It was totally awesome!!! And since I am your grandma's age, I watched TOS when it was on back in the 60s . . . this movie brought it home. Good review Chris. RIP to our beloved Nimoy and Yelchin.

You give Beyond an A- and yet it's the worst film of the new series?
Um.... what???
He really enjoyed the last two. More than this one, but he still thought this one was good. That's like if I give return of the Jedi ab A-. I love the movie, but its the worst of the original trilogy.
***** If you didn't like into darkness, that's fine, but chris did. He liked it more than this one, but this one is still good. You might like beyond and hate into darkness, who knows except you.

It's his opinion..
Thanks Chris for the end, I was gonna delete you of this earth if you forgot to mentioned them, but you stayed true. High respect for dose two amazing Actors and talents! Anton was one of my favorite actor's, he will be missed but there both having a blast in Eternal Sunshine :)
Spock and Bones together are great. They have a great chemistry that is just as interesting as Kirk with either of the other two.
This is my favorite of the AOS movies so far, or at least is on the same level as the 2009 movie. It is LEAGUES ahead of Star Trek Into Darkness omfg. I will definitely be seeing it more than once in theaters
can we finally make idris elba 007 please?
How would that make any sense? "Hey yeah you know that James Bond character that has been in 24 movies and is white? Yeah he's just gonna be a black guy now."
+RedLightning007 his skin color shouldn't define the character, why the hell shouldn't he be able to. It's no different than a new white actor.
look, i believe that idris elba should be bond for one reason and one reason only. and that is because he just comes across as james bond
+RedLightning007 You know the series has constantly been rebooted right? And now that Daniel Craig is done they could cast whoever they want.
+Omar Rivero yeah and you do realize the character has always been white. It wouldn't make sense at all unless they made the stupid decision to go with the theory that Bond is only a code name and it's always a different guy.
why Star Trek Beyond is good? because JJ Abrams had nothing to do with it

Wow you're an idiot!
This one was my favorite one of the last three. The characters are awesome and I really liked how they fleshed them out.
Shit, anyone who prefers Into Darkness, which is absolute horse shit, I can't take serious.
Then don't take me seriously because I think it's the best Star Trek movie
Oh get the fuck outta here dude. Idiot,,,, thinking Into Darkness was shit. What a moron.
Into darkness really was shit.
The only people who liked it were Cumberbatch fanboys who cream themselves every time they see him in a film.
Don't get me wrong.
I like Cumberbatch but he was a horrible choice to play kahn.
MOBROOKS Overgeneralization about the fans of the film. And a very subjective opinion about the casting.
i like it
what happened to the hilariacity reviews? I thought he was going to make 1 a week.

I'm really happy that this movie is getting such positive reviews.I've heard very little negativity directed towards it. I'm going to see it tomorrow and am genuinely excited.
